So Joe is the new lord of the manor, but who is Graham really.

Will this be the thread where Moira and Cain finally get back together

Will there be wedding bells for Bob and Brenda, I don't think so

Will Marlon and the head teacher get along nicely or will it end up going nowhere slowly until we all want to scream at the telly

What will Lachlan do next.....................................

And why does paddy never know which side his bread is buttered? I thought chas was love of his life?

LoveMySituation · 30/01/2018 21:04

Grin at Paddy I'm your boy' to Chas. If she's such the love of his life, why'd he have to do so much thinking about it? Thank god they wrapped that all up asap, thought for one awful moment there would be ANOTHER Paddy love triangle with Rhona, like with that teacher woman.

What is Emmerdale's current obsession with poo for?! When will it stop? Vanessa's line was quite inventive I suppose Grin

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 30/01/2018 21:10

I reckon they stole that line from MN. I have definitely seen “I hope her next shite is a hedgehog” said in here recently. Grin

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 30/01/2018 21:11

love did you not see paddy’s face when he was hugging chas though? That story is not over...

LoveMySituation · 30/01/2018 21:19

I know Donny, it was wishful thinking when I wrote that. Is it possible to be bored of something before it even happens? Grin

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 30/01/2018 21:21

Yes! Grin

When. Paddy started yammering at the kitchen table, he barely had 3 words out and I yelled at the TV “ohh just shut up already paddy!” Blush

LoveMySituation · 30/01/2018 21:27

It's got to be an in joke surely. Writers thinking 'Now lets be 'out there' and choose the most unlikely Romeo we can find'. Or maybe being stereotypical, Paddy as he's bald, goes at it like the Duracell bunny. How else to explain the queue of willing ladies..

LoveMySituation · 30/01/2018 21:36

I'm sick of his voice too. If he has to have a love triangle can't it be with someone new? like his RL wife-Aaron's stepmum
I'd actually forgotten he and Chas were together, after that excruciating sex talk we had to put up with, they barely seemed to look at each other till 2 days ago Grin

bonfireheart · 31/01/2018 07:09

All the actors yesterday looked like they were phoning their performance in, even they're fed up. And I'm sick of the women on Emmerdale moping over some man who they're too good for. Where's the strong independent women? Both Rhona and Chas deserve better than than hypocrite.

Kikashi · 31/01/2018 11:36

I'm not convinced the Paddy/Rhona/Chas triangle is wrapped up. Can see it running and running..zzz...

Found Emmerdale quite dull last night. Who looks after Johnnie when Vanessa is out and about (kissing Charity in the street late at night?) Vanessa said there was no one at her home but a child sleeping upstairs - is poor Johnny left home alone? and not at the 24/7 childminders.

bonfireheart · 31/01/2018 21:56

This is what happens when the Whites go - so boring. Need some scheming Robert, some sassy Chas and naughty Ross, rather than the boring saps they've all become now.

southeastdweller · 31/01/2018 22:02

bonfireheart So you liked the Whites, did you?

bonfireheart · 31/01/2018 22:34

I didn't mind the Whites at all. Lawrence's colourful past had a lot of potential storylines. And I'd have loved to see Chrissie being more strong & independent, with some decent storylines of her own away from Robert & Lucky. And I liked the dynamic between Chrissie n her dad.
Bringing Rebecca in was a mistake for many reasons so am unbothered what happens to her.
I'd rather have the Whites rather than Nicola & Jimmy, Brenda, Laurel, and blooming Paddy!

JaneJeffer · 31/01/2018 23:39

I liked the Whites as well. It all went wrong when Andy was leaving and they had Chrissie frame him which brought in the awful Rebecca. She was nothing like I imagined when they used to mention her. They could have done so much with them but it all turned into a farce after that.

southeastdweller · 01/02/2018 09:23

I thought I was the only one who liked them! I didn’t like it when Chrissie had a personality transplant and became the archetypal soap bitch, and I agree that Lawrence had more potential.

I wonder who the next family at Home Farm will be? I like the Tom and Graham relationship but that place needs more people there.

Eastie77 · 01/02/2018 09:30

Chrissie had potential but then they turned her into a cartoonish Cruella D'evil character with very silly schemes. Agree Rebecca is the worst thing to have happened to that family and one of the worst actresses I have ever seen on the shown, probably second only to the dreadful Holly Barton.

Smidge001 · 01/02/2018 19:55

I agree Lawrence's character had more potential. But he just turned into an angry shouty man with completely unrealistic morals and a complete lack of awareness over cause and effect. Real disappointment - when he first arrived and used to talk to Edna about her husband etc... Edna had a lot of time for him -he started off as a complete gentleman. What a ridiculous, cartoonish turnaround.

Jojoanna · 01/02/2018 20:29

Yes !!! Finally

JaneJeffer · 01/02/2018 20:30

Well they dragged those two episodes out! Bit of an anticlimactic ending.

Smidge001 · 01/02/2018 20:31

Well finally, about time. Didn't really rate the double episode of getting them there though. Didn't pull on my heart strings like previous close calls when we've been shouting at the screen for Moira to swallow her pride.

Oh and Harriet, just go away.

ellenanora5 · 01/02/2018 20:43

Aww that's made me happy, it's about time though, they are meant for each other.

Yes they could lose a few such as, Harriet, David and Paddy.

Is the handyman planning on telling David about Tracy's past, surely he knows seeing as that was what brought her into the show.

Joe is boring as feck.

Nicola needs to shut up.

OP posts:
Littlewhistle · 01/02/2018 21:08

Thank goodness for that!! I thought we were in danger of losing one of the few good actresses from the show. The handyman/Tracy thing seems to be a non-story as it was common knowledge about her past. So many things to me just don't ring true - Paddy/Chas, Laurel/Bob, Charity/Vanessa.

Then we've got the boring and pointless characters like Diane, Doug, Dan, Jimmy, Victoria and Rebecca.

Add in the hammy overacting and generally useless acting......... why do I even watch this programme?

QueenDaisy · 01/02/2018 22:05

Tracey did the chat lines, but didn’t Jimmy see her in an adult movie, I can’t remember what happened, did he keep it a secret ?

Jojoanna · 02/02/2018 07:45

Yes Tracy was in an adult movies but told Jimmy she was in poverty and made them for the money . He said he understood and never told anybody or something like that

Eastie77 · 02/02/2018 13:41

Loved that understated ending yesterday. Cain just responding “I know” to Moira’s declarationGrin Charity was genuinely funny for once.

My heart sank when Harriet went to see the Bishop. Does that mean she’s sticking around ffs. I am sick of looking at her hangdog expression and wittering on about losing her faith, betraying God or whatever her issue is.
