If I didn’t ‘know’ Ross had been the victim of an acid attack I would also have assumed he’d fallen of a bike and scrapped his face. And his eyes were not affected at all..

In true soap discontinuity style I’m sure the scars will fade/disappear or he’ll have an operation to miraculously remove them.

The Tracy blackmail storyline is so dull and unbelievable. Why would she allow herself to be held to ransom like this. It all happened before she met David so just say “as you already know I was on the game a long time ago..I got up to some risqué stuff as you can imagine and this creep has video evidence” That’s it.

They can't have Ross look too realistic , with it going so out so early presumably. Also, maybe this gives them more scope to show his recovery going successfully.

As PP, I am hating the Tracy blackmail. Ridiculous in all ways. When I see her anguished look I want to turn off. Yesterday was particularly bad. I think they hide these stupid stories in the big weeks, as they know we are a captive audience.

And her dad putting the money for Megan’s gift in the cash box was such a silly plot device. He said he wanted it out of temptations reach & where it is hard to access so why put it in a box that is right in front of him at his place of work with David saying he would give him the key upon request. A key clearly hidden in plain sight anyway since Tracy easily obtained it. Surely put it in a savings account with no card access etc.

Also hating the blackmail storyline. I assume they are going down this route to hi light the issue of “revenge porn” (hate that term) that has been on the rise in recent years. If the video that Phil sent to David was the one of him and Tracy then he has committed that offence. I’m hoping the follow it through properly with police, court, prosecution etc.

Anytime I want Robron I end up getting David and Tracey instead. Why??

I don't think the time the show goes out should impact how realistic the wounds/scars are?! Surely that's a bit unfair on people in reali life with disfigurements! They shouldn't have to hide away until after 9pm.

I agree Eastie, this blackmail storyline is ridiculous, given everyone knows tracey's background and that she used t love hand to mouth.

They've alreadyhad hundreds of complaints from precious people not being able to handle Ross scars so imagine in they went anymore realistic!

On a side note didn't anyone see that Debbie & David in RL invited their mates around for what they thought was her 30th but was their wedding! Didn't realise they'd been together over 7 years and have two kids. As soon as I saw her hair and wedding dress I was thinking "wonder what mumsnet would make if it?" Lol. I don't think I've ever seen them both do a scene together even in the shop.

Why do they think we want big dramatic storylines like blackmail etc. In real life i've never met anyone yet that's been blackmailed. This one with Tracey is going to be tedious, just not good to watch. Just give us simple village life, we don't need the damn far fetched ridiculousness.

I remember seeing an old episode of emmerdale from the 80’s on YouTube and the focus of the episode was that a teenager had left the hot water on all night and asks her brother to help her cover it up by spending ages in the bathroom and running the hot water tap until it was cold there was a funny (from my perspective) scene of the parents standing outside looking at a heat warped water pipe wondering what had happened to it! That was the drama back then.

Exactly! I just want something light hearted and a bit funny. Without so many unlikeable characters that are shooting off to France, on the run, stealing, killing. I want the soap to have a memory that is better than mine (which isn't actually hard so they are clearly not trying). Don't sell me David as this moral and perfect guy when he came to the village as an absolute twat. Don't tell me Paddy wouldn't eternally hate Robert for shooting him. I don't know anyone in real life who would just get over that ffs!

I agree Ross’s scars are ridiculous. There’s no impact now. I suspect they were done deliberately like that so he’d still be the obvious hunk of the village and I expect all or most will here in a couple of months. I’m probably overthinking it but I think thisstory’s a bit insulting to real life acid attack victims.

I agree. There is a woman called Katie (I forget her surname) who is a well known acid attack survivor and she has documented her recovery and all the things she has had to go through. She has had lots of surgery over years and her skin won’t ever be the same.

I think it's hard for a soap to do a long-term disability story because people get fed up of it.

Nicola is still suffering from her injuries and I've read people being annoyed about it on here even though it's realistic.

Ross' hand will probably have the most damage and give the make-up department less to do!

There needs to be a bit of fun injected into it, Faith and Eric are so well suited that they could be comedy gold, just like Val and Eric were.

Yes agree about David, can't stand him, he's been sleeping with his ex and if he dares give Tracy a hard time I will be disgusted.
