WTF is up with andrew? Is he being ageist? it seems all about the guys, thought it was womans BB this year?

Ashley must be as thick as mince to not see thru G.

areyoubeingserviced · 18/01/2018 12:47

It wasn’t necessarily IW who was interesting, it was the debate around transgender which was compelling.
Now that IW has gone all we get is Andrew and his immaturity. I find him extremely boring .

FannyWisdom · 18/01/2018 12:57

Looked like winceyette to my expert eye (I wear a lot of night wear)

I agree Beyond I'm glad Ann has unleashed the beasts and isn't trussed up in a bra, my favourite thing is taking my fucker off I never wear it at home.

It's a shame Andrew has bugger all talent for his anticipated career, I can't see him going far on personality.

Jess is winning me over. I'm pleased she isn't going for the cheap shock votes looking at Andrew and is sticking with the women.

BeyondWW · 18/01/2018 12:57

"For example she could have challenged IW. Instead she pussied around them, fawning away"

Well, as far as we have seen. That certainly isn't how India recalls it ("Rachel barred me from the women's bedroom"), though there is the problem there of India being a delusional wankstain.

Chipstick10 · 18/01/2018 13:18

India is as thick as mince and wouldn’t know an intellectual convo if it bit India on India’s arse.

BeyondWW · 18/01/2018 13:45

Ah, you have a woman's legs arse, m'lord... Grin

(First thing that popped into my head there)

sheldonesque · 18/01/2018 13:58

I would imagine if that had happened we'd have seen it, so I'm going with your delusional wankstain theory beyond Smile

And just to clarify, I don't think IW would have been able to hold a conversation without being uppity. However, challenging them and debating on what constitutes a real woman would have been interesting. I concede that it may not have been an intellectual conversation. Smile

Why not as Maggie more things about the Police or about the backlash following the abuse case? Ask Amanda about her career? How she found love late in life?Ask Malika and Jess about the positive and negative aspects of reality tv shows? Ann about her mother? Or about what she considered her achievements or what she might have done differently?

I might have missed things. Or BB really is just broadcasting the Andrew show.

1wokeuplikethis · 18/01/2018 14:16

I've got bored of it now. I thought it was great the first week, I really enjoyed the intelligent conversations when the women were just in together. I loathed IW and was glad for IW to get the boot. But for me, I've mainly gone off it for all the censoring and propaganda from BB and C5 following said IW fucking off: the editing of the show, the pathetic interview, the pussyfooting around, the weird silent crowd, the fact they lobbed in a stick of dynamite effectively and nobody is allowed to react (presenters, BBOTS panellists, the crowd) for fear of upsetting IW and being sued. I don't mind having my mind opened, but I strongly object to being fielded in how I am 'allowed' to respond. So yeah, feel like BB can feck off now.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 18/01/2018 14:26

I think it's playing right into IW's hands, that people are saying it's boring. IMO it's not boring because of IW's eviction, it's boring in that once again the person gaining most airtime is one dimensional and banging the same singular beat on their drum relentlessly.

As you say Sheldon there's so much more they could be exploring. People must be having more interesting conversations than just Andrew holding court about Ann all the time. There must be lighter moments when they make their own fun, like when Shane J pretended to be the voice of BB and deceived Ann. She took it in good part and had a laugh.

You could be forgiven for forgetting that Maggie, Malika, Wayne, Shane L, John Barnes, Jonny and to an extent, Wayne are even in there. That's a heck of a lot of people not to have much airtime.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 18/01/2018 15:08

Andrew, game playing? surely not

Yep, as the poster above me says, she might be doing all this and we just have no idea at all. I can't imagine that Rachel, or any of the other housemates, are sitting around like inanimate sacks while the mindless lads' drivel is happening. We don't get to see it. Year of the Woman indeed.

BeyondWW · 18/01/2018 15:28

Maybe ch5 are trying to highlight the problem with "lads" and "bantz" in today's culture, and how it intersects with the claims of "we don't need feminism anymore"...

Nah, that's probably crediting them a bit too much insight!

picklemepopcorn · 18/01/2018 15:59

I felt as soon as the men came in, any year of the woman theme went out.

It's an interesting tension between ageism/respect. Andrew is banging on about how people are toning themselves down around Ann. India said it was ageist to give Ann any special treatment. The others see a respectable very old lady, and moderate themselves out of what they themselves call respect.

Indulge me a minute...

When andrew swears and is loud and crude and makes innuendos, he is imposing his values and culture on the space far more than Ann does. Isn't he doing the equivalent of talking about a lovely bloody steak and tucking into a nice bit of pink veal, while sitting among vegans?

nicenewdusters · 18/01/2018 16:23

That's an excellent point Pickle There are many ways to impose yourself upon a group of people, and Andrew is no less "out there" with his than Ann is with hers,

Chipstick10 · 18/01/2018 17:08

good point Pickle

EachandEveryone · 18/01/2018 18:39

It’s the way it’s edited it makes fools of us all.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 18/01/2018 18:45

I'm so bored of Andrew and the Ashley/Genuwine fakeness. Also feel the conversations were more interesting before the men joined. I'd like to see/hear more from the other housemates.

IhaveChillyToes · 18/01/2018 19:58

I think the editors have been ruining it AngryAngryAngryAngry

Wish we had use of coloured buttons

Red if you want ladz and showmance and green if you want the others

IhaveChillyToes · 18/01/2018 19:59

Perhaps they should give them conversation cards a along as they weren't anti Ann

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/01/2018 20:00

Totally agree pickle

I wish Andrew would leave tomorrow, but according to oddschecker that isn't looking likely.

I really don't get the Ann love on here.

chilly interactive CBB would be fab!

FannyWisdom · 18/01/2018 20:49

I hope Marcus is reading, I can't be arsed with Andrew tonight.
Me grapes are murder.

No love here MsR but I do respect her, she doesn't deserve what feels like humiliation.

And she does 'do' nighties like me.

picklemepopcorn · 18/01/2018 20:58

I admire her. She has earned her position and the right to her opinions over a lifetime of work. I don't agree with some of her religious/Social views, but they are in keeping with her age, devoutly held, and not out of dislike or hate. She is tolerant and accepting of India and Courtney, Shane and Wayne.

Doesn't mean she is right, but her opinions are not surprising given her age and experience.
