I certainly am

I don't think it's a good as it was when it first started, and it can be a tad predictable at times but I still love this show

The scene at the picnic was wall to wall teal frocks. As if there were no other dress materials.. I’d never noticed the teal until it was mentioned here, now I can see nothing else!

SimonBridges · 18/02/2018 21:08

It was so damn teal! All of it!

CannotEvenThink · 18/02/2018 21:14

My goodness the teal.

They are really pushing the jolly multicultural everybody gets along thing too. It isn't direct but so many of the shots have bits in the background. A white poplar woman chatting to an Indian woman in a sari, the Sikh man at the picnic. Obviously there were more people of different ethnicities around but most cultural history tends to suggest ethnic groups kept themselves to themselves.

I noticed when the nuns were singing in the chapel today (today's story having a faith focus they were permitted to be nuns not just oddly dressed midwives) there was just the 3 of them rather than added extra nuns as in previous series. I wonder if that was a deliberate lead up to introducing the demise of the nursing sisters.

LaContessaDiPlump · 18/02/2018 21:15

Yes, I really wish the teal thing hadn't been pointed out because that's all I see now Grin

SimonBridges · 18/02/2018 21:25

Even the bloody nuns wear teal.

WindyWednesday · 18/02/2018 21:34

It’s a shame the trixie story was so rushed.

The teal is ridiculous.

StripySocksAndDocs · 18/02/2018 22:20

Have to say it's making me snigger each time I see teal.

Imagine if we had a drinking game where we took a drink with each appearance of teal. We wouldn't get through the first half. 😁

HomeHand · 18/02/2018 22:29

Oh god even Fred is in bloody teal.

So a guy with DS is friends with a Nigerian man with smallpox. In 1963. Wtf???

And Dr Turner can piss off too. Angry

HomeHand · 18/02/2018 22:30

I'm a die hard Ctm fan but this is an insult to us all.

DorynownotFloundering · 18/02/2018 23:08

I'm getting teal obsessed........distracts from the storyline !

GetTaeBed · 18/02/2018 23:27

I did like the teal bedroom though....Grin

HomeHand · 18/02/2018 23:50

I want to flounce and proclaim that I won't watch anymore, but like a moth to a flame... I'll be back next week Sad

squarecorners · 19/02/2018 00:07

Has anyone else noticed that they only have about 3 sets that they just change all the props for when it's supposed to be somewhere different? Racist Hairdresser's shop was Violet's haberdashers, the seaman's mission (I'm sorry I just get Village People vibes from that name) is also Valerie's auntie's pub with pictures on the wall, and I'm pretty sure that Poplar is only about one street long so when you get to the end you keep walking and you're back at the beginning like in Pleasantville.

SadieHH · 19/02/2018 01:50

It can be done Homehand. Seriously, I was addicted (and I have ASD so I’m a serious obsessive Wink). I literally gave it up last August and haven’t watched an ep since. I feel like we’re totally played every week.

Of course I’m totally fixated on other things now so... HmmGrin

SoupDragon · 19/02/2018 07:14

Trixie was dispatched a bit rapidly, wasn't she?!

Helen George may well have left unexpectedly early as she had to have her baby early due to illness (which I can’t spell but it’s the one that makes you itchy!)

I still enjoy the show. Perhaps because I don’t take it too seriously or treat is as a historical documentary. I don’t particularly care whether it’s totally accurate, I just enjoy the stories!

SimonBridges · 19/02/2018 08:00

Ive noticed the same props turning up too. There was a lamp in the Turner’s house that was in someone’s flat last week.

CannotEvenThink · 19/02/2018 09:06

I've been pondering lucille on the school run, as you do. She annoys me. The writers have made her flawless, she's not human! She arrived and made everybody love her by her simple, sweet kindness and unassuming disposition. She is strong and resilient and won over the only racist in poplar with her sweet, unassuming disposition and yesterday cured a woman of tokophobia and probable post traumatic stress by her simple, sweet, unassuming steadfast disposition.

Where are her flaws darn it!

Weezol · 19/02/2018 09:48

I'm sure there will be something huge in her background revealed towards the last few episodes. The cardinal rule of telly is that no good person is allowed to be happy for an entire series.

Yorkshirebetty · 19/02/2018 10:24

The teal! It was everywhere! Touching story about the man with leprosy being helped by Reggie, and the poor woman with tokophobia. Interesting that the request for the C section was turned down, think how common it is nowadays!

user1499786242 · 19/02/2018 11:35

The teal tho 🤔😩😰 all I could focus on

Frombothsidesnow · 19/02/2018 11:40

Barbara even had teal earrings.

WindyWednesday · 19/02/2018 12:35

Barbara was the final teal! Really the vicar needed to be teal as well.

BeyondTerfyCassandra · 19/02/2018 13:45

I was very surprised Dr OneFace didn't mention PTSD (or was it still shell shock then?) - doesn't he have it himself?!

Pebble21uk · 19/02/2018 14:25

Someone on Twitter mentioned that there's always a yellow car which pops up somewhere in every episode too... it was parked under the bridge last night. I shall be yellow car spotting from now on as well!

SoupDragon · 19/02/2018 14:45

I guess there are only a limited number of authetic vehicles etc available.

The props person who accidentally sprayed the entire prop cupboard with teal was probably sacked.

This might be why locations are reused too. There can only be so many places you can turn back into 1960’s looking locations without inconveniencing current residents too much.
