I certainly am

I don't think it's a good as it was when it first started, and it can be a tad predictable at times but I still love this show

I swear the Indian lady tonight started with a northern accent and has now reverted to Indian accent!!

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 20:18

Is the good doctor about to turn optician?

DorynownotFloundering · 11/02/2018 20:21

Poor old SMJ, she loves her books.

JustDanceAddict · 11/02/2018 20:24

*Shouodve said Pakistani, sorry!

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 11/02/2018 20:31

Oh fuck off patronising SMJ, Shelagh.

Ihatebuildabear · 11/02/2018 20:33

Why doesn't she want the cataracts op ?

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 20:34

I'm a bit Hmm at the older Pakistani wife's attitude to the second marriage. The upset over the pregnancy when she has not had children I get but the upset over the age difference etc seems odd when culturally it would have been pretty common. But then I'm looking at it through a white woman's lense

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 20:36

Knew Trixie would bail

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 20:39

Where did second marriages stand in the UK? Obviously where it was conducted it was legal. But in terms of the child in the UK was he born in or out of wedlock? It still mattered in terms of inheritance etc then didn't it?

DorynownotFloundering · 11/02/2018 20:46

Ihate I think she is just plain scared.

DorynownotFloundering · 11/02/2018 20:48

Oh I do love Fred !

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 11/02/2018 20:55

Oh, fuck off, Doctor, and fuck off some more.

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 20:55

Oh ffs, just open your heart like Dr Turner and you'll be able to be happy with your husbands second wife's baby.

DorynownotFloundering · 11/02/2018 20:57

Ah there is the get out for Trixie so HG can go & sprog.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/02/2018 21:00

Best episode this series! As if you would just play happy families if your husband didn't bother to tell you he'd got another wife!

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 21:07

Toddler your heart clearly isn't open enough. Love cures all, they are totes fine living in London and wife 1 will be jumping for joy next time her husband impregnates the 15 year old because they are all in love.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/02/2018 21:22

GrinObviously not!

BrutusMcDogface · 11/02/2018 21:24

Bye bye, trixie! Come back soon! 😘

BrutusMcDogface · 11/02/2018 21:25

I did feel sorry for that poor 15 year old but it's ok now, because she has a lovely mother figure (who happens to be her husband's wife....)

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 11/02/2018 21:26

Obviously deliberately adopting a child with your committed spouse is exactly the same as coping with your husband marrying another woman, getting her pregnant and moving her in with you after you've been unable? (wasn't concentrating when their lack of children was discussed between them) to have your own children, and if she couldn't handle that then you should take a long hard look at yourself.

Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 11/02/2018 21:27

That could be better written!

BrutusMcDogface · 11/02/2018 21:33

The gist was clear, umbrella ! Grin

BikeRunSki · 11/02/2018 21:37

I think i might have picked up a subtle continuity error. Need a long term follower with an eye for detail, Shelagh? This evening Nurse Crane refered to her childhood in Leeds. I’m sure when she first arrived she said she came from Skipton (or possibly Ilkley, somewhere up there).

StripySocksAndDocs · 11/02/2018 21:45

Going back to Patsy. Wasn't there something about her not actually being a midwife and only staying at Nonatus as a favour. Or something.

I noticed the Northern accent creeping out in the First Wife. The actress is from Huddersfield I think - so that might be it!!

CannotEvenThink · 11/02/2018 21:54

that was Deliah, her mum was concerned about her coming back to London for work so the nuns let her lodge with them so she'd be somewhere safe .
