Saw a photo of the actress cast as Katie (Liz's supposed still born daughter) with Tracey on set so looks like this horrendous idea for a story is going ahead. Just No! The death of Katie was a huge story back in the day and another hospital mix up is too too implausible. Even Digital spy are saying it's pants:

That is a horrible storyline. How manipulative. It was dealt with so well, and impacted do hugely on the Mcdonald family. To resurrect someone like that just seems so cheap.

Surely they aren't doing another scam with Maria?

It's still about 2 years in the future on Classic Corrie. Anyone remember if parents were at bedside when she died?

Sorry my mistake. Katie did live for a day or so - it's a long time ago (about 26 years), I'd forgotten that but remembered she died and that it had profound effects for all the family.. Didn't intend to upset anyone.

I can’t believe they’re going ahead with this story. It will be very upsetting for anybody who has experienced baby loss. It is very exploitative and I can’t believe that nobody along the way vetoed the idea.

I read that Adam has second thoughts after hearing Eva speak at the inquest. Perhaps he realises she was ready to try again with Aidan and still loved him.

If Eva knew about the inquest why disappear without telling anybody? Surely you’d just leave after. Also, why would Susie have a passport?

I bet Beverley Callard is secretly hating this awful Katie story.

I don't know why Eva left in a hurried and secretive manner if she was just going to return for the inquest. Why not do it after? I really think it's a mistake to bring Katie back.

This storyline is devastating. My daughter was stillborn (I know 'Katie' lived for a day) but I have dreamed and dreamed that the Drs were wrong - my daughter didn't die, it was all a mistake, the Drs tell me they were wrong. And each time I have woken crying out for her with dh having to tell me all over again that she is gone.

Crap. Shitty idea to do this.

I think it highlights how insensitive the producers can be.

I think there’s going to be a lot of complaints from viewers and criticism in the media and from charities about this story. It really is a new low for Corrie.

I don't see how anyone could think it is remotely feasible.

I see that a lot of us were right in our predictions that Steve and Abi would be attracted to one another.

The moths Daniel and Sinead have inadvertently released into the factory eat all the knickers causing Aliyah yet more financial headaches. Apparently she also sees a video Aiden made with a student about organ donation where the talks about how much he loves his family which causes her to rethink the inheritance. Carla and Peter will be ready to pounce to take on the factory and Johnny buys the pub.

Billy warns Josh's new bloke about his form which leads to the bloke beating Josh up (and perhaps killing him?)

Sinead is pregnant (again - no contraception in Corrie?) should they give up their dream of a shop - yeah, cos being pregnant stops you opening a shop with your partner

Sean most unlikely homeless person ever gets beaten up (Eileen can I kip on your sofa? yes/ Billy on your floor- yes/Toyah in Eva's room?- yes... I could go on )

The new Katie storyline sounds awful. The only person happy will be the girl playing her.

It is a shockingly insensitive storyline for the reasons you said. They have got this badly wrong. All of the advice they took for the Steve and Michelle story line and they think this is a good idea?

Once they put the spoilers out about upcoming storylines it's too late to change what's going to happen as they are filmed months in advance so this storyline will go ahead even if people complain

I am absolutely dreading it and may have to end a lifelong habit of watching.

I've been only watching the odd bit of some of them at present as the storylines are so stupid. Not looking like things will improve.

Maureen Lipman has apparently been cast as Ty's hardline no nonsense northern granny (even though Lipman has played a relief bar manager in the past and Ty has never really mentioned or visited a granny).

Maureen Lipman? Will she be one of those characters that starts as an utter nightmare, gets everyone's backs up then suddenly has a personality transplant and turns into everyones Bezzie Mate (like Sebs Mum/ Beth and Craigie , Gary and Anna Windass, Becky, Kylie)
