For some reason Channel 5 doesn't upload CBB on demand until midnight so just catching up now.

I was somewhat hoping the IW would last at least another week just to watch her head bitten off by the other housemates but she's driving me insane. I'm tempted to skip when she's on air.

Will she change the bloody record? Then again surely she must talk about something else or everyone would just walk away? Maybe channel 5 is being bias?

I do agree that BOTS is clearly a bit censored at times / they are being very careful about what they say - and I think Rylan being careful to say "we can't speak for IW but... " (and he did this a lot the night that Paris woman was on) is fair enough IMO, I think he's just being careful to point out that one member of the LGBT community can not speak for all.

Also, I think on here there is a tendency to say "that person is being censored / is towing the party line" if they basically disagree with the popular opinion on this thread. However, not everyone has the same views! Remember there are a lot of people who strongly disagree with the thoughts on this thread with regard to labelling gender and discussing the transgender transition process etc (and please don't pull me up on my semantics there I'm summarising). This thread has become a bit of an echo chamber but it's not representative of the views of all the population in RL. I've just listened to a really interest (feminist) podcast on the whole gender labelling debate and it's very different to what has been expressed on here. Anyway, not wanting to start that debate up again but just wanted to point out that in terms of BOTS it might actually be people aren't just "towing the party line" whilst secretly sharing the same beliefs as you, but that they genuinely do think that!

I've never voted but am gong to vote for Johnny. Yes, another week of IW might be entertaining / enlightening on the "explaining issues surrounding transgenderism to a wider audience" front but the thought of her avoiding subsequent nominations and potentially winning is not an outcome I'm keen on.

Re BOTs, I think they have to be seen to be neutral and fair in their coverage of IW, otherwise they are open to complaints about “transphobia”. I can understand why they just don’t want to have to go there.

They’re leaving it up to IW to show themselves for what they are. Which is going really well.

Just catching up, but first wanted to quickly add @Whisky2014 I have trichotillomania too and noticed how RJ was picking out strands of hair like I do!!

If Rachel’s hair is a wig then it’s the best I have ever seen. Though I once saw a segment on a morning show of a girl who had trichotillomania and she went to a specialist hairdresser and had a kind of weave made. It looked incredible and real.

The point about BOTS is that they are quite obviously stopping people from being as rude about IW as they normally would be about other contestants behaving the way IW is. It wasn't until last night that someone actually dared just say "IW is a nob". IW is getting a lot of special treatment on BOTS not normally afforded to contestants on CBB including Rylan telling them "you can't say that", "she's not here to tell us what she thinks/feels".

chip yes, it's the Lucinda Ellery intralace piece. I Just called to make an appointment with them but I read some reviews where people had a terrible experience with them....puts a lot of pressure on the good hair it is attached to apparently. But yeh, you can get amazing hair pieces these days.
Maybe Rachel's hair is her own, it looks very thick and a bit like claudia winklemans with the just too long fringe! As i say, I've noticed a fair amount of people performing some of the rituals a person with trich would do, they just don't perform the last but if actually pulling it out if their head.

I have a feeling there will be more people interested in saving IW than saving Jhonny.

it feels like every year someone gets special treatment on BBOTS, particularly if they are behaving like an arse. They just have to try and talk about all the housemates, not just IW.

I don’t want to think this, after such a good start, but I am wondering if Courtney/Shane is turning into a tiny bit of a mansplainer, by explaining to others what it feels like for a woman, or what women are thinking. I really hope not but I am going to be looking out for it from now...

I know what you mean Tip but to be fair to him, like someone else pointed out up thread, the blokes have not gone to the self confessed feminists for explanations but to the gay guy in drag which is not his fault. If he mansplained feminism to a one of the women I’d be a bit but I think he’s just trying to put another side across to the guys from his, self confessed, limited knowledge which I think is fine.
