I think it’s the “surgery is the best and only thing that works for transexuals” narrative that IW is peddling Queen. Hard to keep justifying your decision (and encourage others to do the same) to cut your genitals off if you also admit that it was excruciating and didn’t give you the results you wanted.

That’s not to say that it doesn’t work for anybody only that I don’t trust anybody who claims a painless recovery and orgasms within months of having it done.

My thoughts on the surgeon promising penetrative orgasm is that the penis massages the prostate, something that would have happened as a man anyway so not the miraculous 'real woman' experience they are touting it as.

Chip, if the Labour Party really want to support people who are gender non conforming they should stop fixating on transwomen. Whilst this approach is clearly designed to open ‘woman’ only shortlists to natal males who identify as woman, they are now excluding transpeople who are natal females and agender (as well as natal females who are gender critical, but I know they won’t lose sleep about that!)

Personally I don’t believe in all short lists anything.

I think we should be very mindful not to lump all transexuals in the same boat. India's obviously a very self centred individual and not very truthful either. She's also appearing on a nightly reality show and looking to court the airtime and ratings.

Someone mentioned a transexual person on Twitter who'd written about India misgendering her and I followed a link and read some of her blog about transitioning and the operation in Brighton, which I think might be the same hospital that India went to. She certainly didn't sugar coat it.

I really do believe in to each their own, but that comment about 'like having a baby ever day' infuriates me. It's not only lying to themselves, it's diminishing women's experiences and thoroughly demeaning.

All that said, if IW goes, then yes, hoorah, we can get back to chatting shit and adverts Good point that IW would probably find more personal calm and happiness out of the limelight. I always think the same about Lauren Harries, but they seem like moths to a flame, IW has also done Come Dine With Me apparently.
