Slightly copying the old thread's title...

Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

I love Rubeh and Hawp. They're so cute.

borderline11 · 13/02/2018 18:15

Can't understand why they've got Toyah as the Rovers landlady, it's not the right part for her. When you think of all the previous landladies, all strong women who held your attention. Puzzled why they didn't keep Liz, Toyah annoys me.

millimat · 13/02/2018 19:06

So as soon as eva is going to declare all to Adam, a massive bump appears Confused

scrabbler3 · 13/02/2018 20:32

I agree that Toyah is the wrong fit for the pub. I Ike the character and the actress but Toyah does not have the charisma and her relationship with Peter is unlikely. It doesn't help that Classic Corrie is currently broadcasting the Bet+Alec era.

Purplemond · 13/02/2018 20:37

Is Porteguese English sounding Joesph twins with Ruby in RL or April from Emmerdale ? I know they are all related but cant remember which ones are the twins, they are all little cuties

eddiemairswife · 14/02/2018 11:36

It's surprising the church hasn't given Billy more support in his time of need.

yawning801 · 14/02/2018 12:20

Changing the subject, has anyone noticed that the majority of the children in Corrie are boys?

So, we've got... Harry (Sarah and Callum), Jack (Molly and Kevin), Jake (Izzy and Gary), Max (Kylie and David), Joseph (Katy and Chesney?), Simon (err... can't remember), Oliver (Leanne and Steve), Rory (Michelle and Steve), whatever Phelan's daughter is calling her baby boy, and probably a bunch of other ones that I've forgotten.

Also Maria’s son Liam!

The girls seem to be older girls, Amy, Dev’s daughter, summer, Faye. Hawp, ruby and Lilly are the only little ones.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 14/02/2018 12:25

OH Also dev’s son and baby George.

eddiemairswife · 14/02/2018 13:15

Is George Mary's grandson? Are his parents still around?

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 14/02/2018 13:20

I’m not sure actually. I did see them a couple of weeks ago and remember thinking it odd because I thought they had left.

Akire · 14/02/2018 19:44

Argh hate the way anytime anyone does any caring for anyone they are complete wreak in about 48h. A 12y having to do a few household chores and make their own breakfasts shouldn’t be having such an effect. Way to make Disabled parents feel guilty.

Same with adults the ill person is also 100% unreasonable demanding and has the carer on their knees.

CoolCarrie · 14/02/2018 19:59

Poor wee Summer, she is a good actress

cloudyweewee · 14/02/2018 20:05

Yeah but Summer seems.to be doing all he housework and cooking etc it's not like she just has to make her own bed or get herself some toast and cereal.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 14/02/2018 20:10

Did Liz just say the new doctor (Alex?) is Michelle’s son? Wasn’t Michelle’s son called Ryan and messing around with drugs last time we saw him? Confused

squoosh · 14/02/2018 20:13

I had forgotten all about Michelle's sons, the biological one and the swapped one!

Akire · 14/02/2018 20:15

I Was going ask who he was. He looks v like Gemma ex Boyfriend!

Akire · 14/02/2018 20:18

Yes but still. Cereal for breakfast. They both eat dinner out and then ready meal evening? Don’t most 12y do some housework?

Put a wash on and hover once a week shouldn’t mean no sleep and bad grades surely. It’s not like Billy is bed bound

Spam88 · 14/02/2018 20:29

I think you're being pretty unfair to young carers there.

blackbunny · 14/02/2018 20:36

For fucks sake! Pat in the right place at the right time yet again! Summer's knight in shining armour to rescue her from a weirdo.

Akire · 14/02/2018 20:39

I guess as a disabled adult I take it personal that any care by anyone is going to kill them. And no one can just do few minutes a day and not have it over take their life. Luckily I don’t have a family so I pay others to do that for me.

If summer was up in night to change , toilet, move Billy. Washing him dressing him. Cooking all meals and drinks and making all household decisions that’s of course one thing.

Throwing on a wash and making your own tea is another.

zukiecat · 14/02/2018 20:51

Nice little touch there with Gail reminiscing about Susie Birchall, Brian and Ivy

cloudyweewee · 14/02/2018 21:01

Yes I liked that bit of nostalgia too. Also loved Tyrone & Sean's 'date'!

Yorkshirebetty · 14/02/2018 22:14

Tyrone and Sean's date was funny, especially as Tyrone was such a straight bloke with his food and attitude! Good bit of comic relief. I can't take to Summer at all, and I don't know why the Church aren't supporting Billy. Steve and Liz should be running the Rovers, Toyah is charisma free and just irritating.

scrabbler3 · 14/02/2018 22:16

I really enjoyed the mention of Brian and Ivy, too. Good characters.

Sean and Ty's date pic is going to be in the Weatherfeild Gazette.

The charity run was boring. Not pleased by the return of Jools and his dour wife. And how on earth did Mary finish before Michelle and Rana.

And yes, Phelan s knack of "turning up".
