Slightly copying the old thread's title...

Come on Corrie writers! Get a grip! This is the thread to moan about the utter tosh that we end up watching, or in some cases to praise the actors because some of them are actually pretty good! Let's discuss!

OP posts:

Think was met and stay the longest with someone like Gemma.

Makes me laugh call ambulance like taxi ye quick as you can coronation street. No they want to know why you want an ambulance first!

Not sure how they will argue amongst themselves. Guess the sister be fittest?

honeyroar · 07/02/2018 20:02

I think it was a who could pick up the worst girl.

I'm not happy that Phelan just intimidated Andy's girlfriend - she was so strong when she spoke to him the other day.

Does kidney failure make you suddenly pass out like Carla keeps doing? Also, they're dressing Toyah particularly frumpy at the moment, so Carla looks so much better next to her - there's obviously going to be a love battle!

EachandEveryone · 07/02/2018 20:11

I dunno she always had that monsoon school teacher style about her. Hes really jealous though isnt he?

woodhill · 07/02/2018 20:15

Couldn't Steph scream, it's only round the corner?

SandysMam · 07/02/2018 20:20

I have kidney failure...i’m fairly certain you just get weaker and weaker and if you know about it (which Carla does I believe?) you get put on dialysis etc. Not sure how medically accurate this storyline is! But then Tracey never has any problems with her kidney transplant and that kidney must be an old age pensioner by now Grin

HouseOfMouse · 07/02/2018 20:22

Everything with Carla is always over the top drama and histrionics. So annoying.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 07/02/2018 20:41

I'm not happy that Phelan just intimidated Andy's girlfriend - she was so strong when she spoke to him the other day.

She actually looked so tiny in that scene compared to phelan. I felt intimidated myself just watching it.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 07/02/2018 20:44

Please tell me why Sophie is at the hospital with Kate? Confused they had one awkward date that Kate couldn’t have been less into and now Sophie is sulking that she didn’t know about Carla’s kidney disease and asking Kate if “we’re alright”!

Akire · 07/02/2018 20:44

Why would anyone care if Andy had ran off with her. Don’t get what implied big secret is?

CandyYumYum · 07/02/2018 20:52

Sophie is one of those boring barnacle people. They hang around their object of their desire until they cave in.

CatherineCawood · 07/02/2018 20:53

Finally! They've remembered Tracey's kidney transplant!!!

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 07/02/2018 20:56

Me either Akire!

CatherineCawood · 07/02/2018 20:57

OMG Phelan saw the curtain move. He's sure to go round and break in and find Seb isn't he? Eeek I'm a bit scared!!

gerispringer · 07/02/2018 20:58

Why does every character in Corrie who ends up in hospital ( which is most of them) always get a private room and are never on a ward?

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 07/02/2018 20:59

OH FgS! Stupid Seb. What did he need to be looking outside for? Idiot.

Spam88 · 07/02/2018 21:07

To be fair, I worked in a hospital that had only private rooms so perhaps weatherfield has one as well.

honeyroar · 07/02/2018 21:14

Id forgotten Seb was there!

Do you think that Steph has really left? (Remembered her name now!).

Akire · 07/02/2018 21:41

Rooky mistake. Surely she has Seb on her phone as “Mary” or some fake name. So if he rings or text when he’s there no give away. He’s bound to try do Seb in. Or worse play along then take the baby.....
This could go on forever.

Laughed at all people going to the hospital, seriously.

honeyroar · 07/02/2018 21:45

Yes I want to move to Weatherfield - ambulance arrives after five minutes, despite the operator barely being told anything, private rooms all round, quick follow up appointments and the whole street can visit at once!

cloudyweewee · 07/02/2018 22:09

I lovedon't Adam's pink rubber gloves Grin

cloudyweewee · 07/02/2018 22:09

Loved

EachandEveryone · 07/02/2018 22:18

Whats his game?

Akire · 07/02/2018 22:45

I thought Carla would been dialisss for months. Don’t all those toxins build up and need to be flushed out? Would really let her go at 16% and do nothing?

All I think now is well least they getting money’s worth out of red hospital set. Baby George, Billy, Seb, summer, Eileen, Carla, Chez, Gary, Rob. Come to think of it who hasn’t been in hopital in the last 6m?

Akire · 07/02/2018 22:46

Oh forgot Rita and Toyah and Eva!

Wingedharpy · 07/02/2018 23:37

The kidney failure storyline is definitely not based much on real life.
Carla would be constantly exhausted and would be likely to just want her bed for sleeping purposes and not much else IYKWIM.
Dialysis usually starts when kidney function is down to 10 - 15%, though, given that she's keeling over frequently, who knows what the Renal Physicians of Weatherfield think?
Good to see that the NHS crisis has by-passed Weatherfield and there are ambulances available for immediate response and beds aplenty in single rooms.
SandysMam : there is IRL, a woman in the Newcastle area who has had her kidney transplant for approx 44 years so Tracey's not unique - just bloody lucky not to have had any issues with hers. Also, www.kidneypatientguide.org.uk have a good forum if you want any questions answered by people who have been there/are still there. Good luck.
