Anyone watched it? Well acted and gripping, James Norton good as usual. Also nice change to see so many new faces. But I'm not sure about watching seven more episodes........

That wasnt a twist! she was clearly the assasin and just using the other assasins baby that we'd seen arriving at heathrow. Rebecca is really being a bit dense.

thenightsky · 28/01/2018 22:58

DH had skinny French woman sussed from the first time we saw her. thank goodness for the lovely Joseph though. I hope nothing bad happens to him.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 28/01/2018 23:03

Yes as soon as Joseph was speeding towards her I knew she'd be ok! Joseph would never let anything bad happen!

She will lose the baby though.

Joseph had better make it to Series 2 Angry

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 28/01/2018 23:04

I think Vadim will inadvertently but conveniently solve the Masha problem.

ReelingLush18 · 29/01/2018 07:00

Thought the pace picked up nicely tonight...Loved the way we all though it was going to be Oksana who was the target and not Rebecca.

Knew Sylvie was a wrong-un but thought Joseph would get there before Rebecca was shot.

Would it really be likely that the whole 'hit squad' would be sitting waiting in a taxi like that though? I think not?

That apartment block with the swimming pool featured in something else relatively recently (was it the Cormoran Strike series?)

Agree that the Masha problem will be sorted.

Alex was a bit naive to think that just splitting with Rebecca would keep her safe - and what was with not giving her covert security?

Presumably Vadim wants his daughter to go abroad because he thinks Alex will soon be coming after him and his family?

SoupDragon · 29/01/2018 07:41

I think Sylvie deliberately shot Rebecca in the stomach to kill the baby.

SoupDragon · 29/01/2018 07:43

Why on earth did Alex think he could go from law abiding find manager to Russian gangster and take on the big boys??

Reeling Thank you re the pool!
Been bugging me where i'd seen it, knew it was recently.

Agree Rebecca will pull through ( just) but lose the baby & Alex will go all Lethal Weapon on Vadim.

I think the reason he's so revengeful is that its broken his heart watching his dad crumble bc of Vadim effectively chasing him out of Moscow. He left to protect his family, but mentally its broken him. Then Alex witnessed the dreadful violent murder of his twattish uncle & I think it shocked him out of his cosy little high flying bubble.
It's all about faaaaamily - like Eastenders on vodka.

Dulra · 29/01/2018 08:25

Good episode. Sylvie definitely shot her in the stomach because she was pregnant. Alex I think is really going to start to crumble when it dawns on him how much he has messed up and what a massive risk he has brought to his family. I see Rebecca losing the baby but surviving and if she has any sense shopping Alex in for what happened. I think he'll go down but not necessarily by Vadim's actions.

How horrible were Alex and his sister to Masha. I get that they are annoyed she had been sleeping with their Dad but their Dad is an alcoholic prat. If I were her I would take the monthly allowance and move to the South of France or Italy away from their messed up family.

SoupDragon · 29/01/2018 08:48

I think Sylvie made a conscious decision to shoot her in the stomach. I think she was aiming higher and then changed her mind.

I think Rebecca has not only lost the baby but will be unable to have children causing the whole thing to escalate even further.

I knew the baby mum was up to no good. Showed how sneaky Vadim is. Felt sorry for Benes as he obviously didn't have any choice in the matter and felt guilty about not seeing his DD grow up.

I too think Rebecca will survive but obviously baby is dead.

HalleLouja · 29/01/2018 09:47

Also £20k a month for disappearing. Nice. Plus that comment about Femi never having to work if he marries into the family!

thenightsky · 29/01/2018 10:00

Where would you live quietly comfortably for 20k a month? I think I'd have a couple of very nice boltholes thank you. Grin

SoupDragon · 29/01/2018 10:51

I’d be more than happy to disappear for £20k a month. I’d consider it for £10k actually!

HalleLouja · 29/01/2018 12:11

I think I would have to disappear to somewhere nice and warm. Not sure £20k would cover the staff I obviously would need. A nanny, housekeeper and would have to pay for accommodation and food. Hmm

MichaelBendfaster · 29/01/2018 13:13

I thought the French woman was a baddie from the first scene in the pool too. The baby was a good prop.

Rebecca will lose the baby for sure.

Alex and his sister were COLD to Masha considering the sister is meant to be her best friend and she and Alex are exes. I agree with Dulra that the dad is just 'an alcoholic prat'. Grin Why put all the blame on her when he's the married one?!

Either Alex is finding the gangster life surprisingly addictive, or he was subconsciously longing to be one all along and this was just his opportunity. He changed from mild-mannered to wannabe mafioso very fast. Although he isn't really very good at it.

MissEliza · 29/01/2018 16:19

What an episode! I'm glad they've given this series several episodes in order to have a proper storyline. So many dramas these days just whizz through in a few episodes.
I knew the woman in the pool was no good from the beginning but I didn't think she shot her in the stomach deliberately because she was pregnant. How cold blooded. I really hope they get vengeance on Vadim through daughter after what they did to poor Carolina and Rebecca. I know that sounds awful Blushbut they left Carolina in an awful state.
Why won't Kleinman release that poor Russian girl and how could Joseph leave her? Also why does the actor speak in an Israeli accent when he's actually supposed to be Russian?

SoupDragon · 29/01/2018 16:21

I thought she was aiming high (head/chest) and then adjusted her aim down which is why I thought it was a deliberate choice

MichaelBendfaster · 29/01/2018 16:34

Me too. If she was shooting to kill, she's a terrible shot for a so-called professional killer!

SoupDragon · 29/01/2018 17:15

As a disclaimer, I am not a professional killer so am just guessing :o

MsHarry · 29/01/2018 17:25

Oh wow last night was a bit full on. Finally saw a bit of emotion from Alex at dinner with guy from Prague, name escapes me. School boy error from Alex though not protecting Rebecca when they had only just split up and he had good reason to be fearful.

thenightsky · 29/01/2018 18:08

I thought French woman shot Rebecca low down because she was distracted by Joseph coming flying through the door with a gun.

UrsulaPandress · 29/01/2018 19:19

Why didn't Joseph get in the jeffing lift?
