Worth starting grey's anatomy?

Mrsknackered · 07/12/2017 23:31

Never watched an episode in my life and have absolutely no idea what to watch. Is it worth starting from the very beginning?

(I'm up with a poorly baby and likely to be the second night of sofa cuddles)

Also open to other suggestions I have Netflix and sky box sets. I love crime documentaries and dramas like The good wife, Luther, House, happy valley, silk, etc.

Yes definitely, I binge watched the first 12 seasons non stop with a cluster feeding newborn and loved it, I felt bereft watching the last one! Still like it now.

Mrsknackered · 07/12/2017 23:34

I went for Line of Duty for the cluster feeding phase Grin

Haha I also did the same and watched first 13 seasons with my cluster feeding non-sleeping baby, Grey's Anatomy got me through!

Surpriseeggsforbreakfast · 07/12/2017 23:41

Absolutely! I started a year or so ago and am loving it, on season 10 now.

Nyx1 · 07/12/2017 23:53

I binge watched 11 seasons last year! Loved it.

OliviaStabler · 07/12/2017 23:54

Watch it! It is addictive. Great drama but basically a love story.

doleritedinosaur · 07/12/2017 23:57

YES! YES!
The second season is so good too.

Eilasor · 08/12/2017 00:12

Absolutely love it. I am constantly watching it - as soon as I finish the latest season I start watching the first again Confused. It's my comfort to show, along with ally McBeal. Always watching the both of them.

If you end up liking greys, give Scandal a go - similar feel (same writer or producer and a lot of the same actors).

Mrsknackered · 08/12/2017 00:22

Eilasor I've done Scandal! I hate Olivia Pope though. I loved Mellie and Cyrus so kept with it, but think I'll be giving season 7 a miss, it got ridiculous! How to get away with murder is quite good too.

Watched the pilot, loved it. We're not going to have any issues here Wink

Yes!

ButterfliesandMoths · 08/12/2017 01:09

Yes yes yes watch it. It's brilliant.

FellOutOfBed2wice · 08/12/2017 01:11

I loved GA so would recommend. I’m ill and have been binging Jane the Virgin on Netflix this week, can’t recommend that highly enough.

Eilasor · 08/12/2017 01:53

OP, I hated Olivia pope too! Quite like greys as there are some characters to love and some to hate.

Another recommendation for Jane the Virgin as well.

youngestisapsycho · 08/12/2017 11:16

Grey's is brilliant in the beginning... its getting a bit boring now though. Jane the Virgin is excellent!

Laughsandgiggles · 08/12/2017 11:23

I've just done all of GA from the very start and absolutely loved it, finished just as the new seasons started. I now eagerly await the next episode every Wednesday night.

Mrsknackered · 08/12/2017 13:05

I didn't realise it was still going! Fab. I'm on episode 5 Blush

I love it

Think I have watched the whole thing twice!

BarbaraOcumbungles · 08/12/2017 17:53

I used to watch it when did was a baby but then sort of forgot about it. Where are you all watching it? I’ve got Netflix, Prime and virgin so don’t really want to spend another subscription fee.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 08/12/2017 17:57

I think you will find it on virgin

Oohhaveabanana · 08/12/2017 18:03

Oh I love this show. Binge watched it last year when I was ill, and have just started from the beginning again.
It's on Virgin Box Sets.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 08/12/2017 18:04

Brilliant! Thank you! That’s all my baths sorted for the next 6 months at least 😂

wombatron · 08/12/2017 20:49

God I’m watching S11 at the moment and am 2 to the end. It’s taken me about 8months to get here and I honestly don’t know what I’ll do when it’s finished!!

zgaze · 08/12/2017 20:53

Start it again!! Grin

MadameRaleuse · 08/12/2017 20:54

Yep. It's trash but it's awesome trash.

JaneEyre70 · 08/12/2017 20:56

I love it, though there are more holes in the stories than in a sieve. They really need to get better medics on set for timelines regarding operations and recovery!! But aside from that, it's very watchable and I adore Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) Grin. Never got the whole dreamy/steamy thing with the 2 early male leads.
