Thursday Grin -

TeaandHobnobs · 25/11/2017 21:05

Giovanni shouted "jealous!" at Brendan who was heckling from the back about kissing - AGAIN. Do shove off Brendan Angry

Cheeseandcucumber · 25/11/2017 21:07

Think I over-bingoed.

CassandraCross · 25/11/2017 21:10

Just caught up with you all.

I really enjoyed Joe & Katya's quickstep, I love her choreography.
Alexandra & Gorka's rumba just fell flat for me.
Gemma & Alijaz's samba lost too much to the theme of the dance, not great.
Mollie & AJ's quickstep was great fun and I thought she performed it well.
Davood & Nadia's waltz was lovely, proper elegant, old school ballroom waltz with no faffing.
Debbie & Giovanni's Argentine Tango was terrific.
Susan and Kevin's American Smooth was okay but there is no improvement in her dancing and the whole Susan and Kevin 'relationship' thing has been done to death now.

I voted for Debbie because I thought her dance was excellent and I feel for her for all the vitriol that is being flung her way.

I voted twice for Mollie because although she is not the best dancer her sheer unadulterated joy at being in the show and learning to dance is glorious.

I agree with others about the Pasodoblathon the results were so predictable. I would have put Joe & Katya first, Debbie and Giovanni second and Alex and Gorka third.

I really hope Susan is in the Dance Off and goes this week, she has gone as far as she can and it would be unfair for her to remain at the risk of others who are trying harder and improving.

FuzzyCustard · 25/11/2017 21:10

Bless you cheese...is it glass of water time?

Annamadrigal · 25/11/2017 21:10

Ah that's ok then TeaandHobnobs! I hate all the bitching and negative rumours

HangryHanderson · 25/11/2017 21:15

Can't call it myself chilly. I liked them all tonight bar Alex's (nothing personal, have liked most of her routines but the rumba rarely does it for me). I hated the rigathon though, wish they didn't do it.
I have no strong feelings on who should stay or go. We all know as soon as Susan is in the DO she's toast and Alex won't get knocked out unless she's up against Debs. I felt a bit sorry for Susan being told to put more effort in as clearly laziness on her part isn't the problem - I thought she was putting in the training, they all are - but asking her to improve technically is a little like how to train a dragon's change this [waves hand across Susan] ''You just pointed to all of me!''
Her fan base have to call to keep her in (DWTS Ireland the least best finalist won but the people's champion didn't make the final so we shall see) and Gemma/Mollie/Davood I still see as interchangeable at this point even though I liked seeing all of them dance tonight.

GrouchyKiwi · 25/11/2017 21:16

Brendan is so irritating this series that I don't even have Kiwi Solidarity for him anymore. He can leave now, please and thank you.

Cheeseandcucumber · 25/11/2017 21:18

I think so Fuzzy, have to prepare myself for the next round tomorrow you see total lightweight

Figgygal · 25/11/2017 21:18

Checking in but not watched yet

CeeBeeBee · 25/11/2017 21:28

I voted for Joe, Davood and cough Alexandra. It wasn't her strongest dance tonight but I do think she deserves to be in it longer and up until now, she's been great. Plus, I can't stand all the horrible comments against her, or Debbie for that matter but Debbie's safe this week.

Cherrypi · 25/11/2017 21:33

The pasodoblathon didn’t change anything much in the leaderboard did it?

nearly250parkuns · 25/11/2017 21:39

I voted twice for Gemma and once for Mollie.

I think it's Susan's time to go. Wouldn't mind Alex being in the DO with her though. Though I suppose that would be inviting even more earnestness from her.

nearly250parkuns · 25/11/2017 21:40

Though I should have perhaps thrown Davood a vote too - as a PP said, backs to basics proper dances should be encouraged. His waltz was really lovely.

StrictlyCalmanDancing · 25/11/2017 21:42

I think the dance off candidates are Mollie, Alex and Susan, though I'm really not sure which combo.

KittyVonCatsington · 25/11/2017 21:43

Finally caught up! Thanks for the new thread Thursday!

I actually quite liked Gemma’s dance but that probably just shows my lack of expertise!
I was also curious as to what lifts Susan would do in her AS and was impressed Kevin used the benches to launch and place back down, each time. Tell you what though, Susan has not taken the criticism and low scores at all well-very cats bum face each time with a touch of ‘how dare you’. Put me off her a little bit.
I voted for Gemma, Joe and Davood.

IhaveChillyToes · 25/11/2017 21:51

Here is leader board including danceathon

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 25/11/2017 21:53

Brendan had a face like a slapped arse at the end of one of the dances this week, can’t remember which, and then he was doing flamenco arms up in the balcony at the end of the pasothon, all “I could do that!” Yes I’m sure you could do that Brendan, but you won’t get the chance if you can’t teach your partner how to dance or, failing that, showcase her in a crowd-pleasing manner.

Theromanempire · 25/11/2017 22:12

Bit dull tonight Confused loved Joe, am totally over Susan now and thought Davood's dance was stunning. Old school waltz with no frills and Nadiyas hair was absolutely gorgeous!

AppleKatie · 25/11/2017 22:31

Feeling a bit sorry for Susan. I love her as a comedian/person and her dance was cute. But she has gone as far as she can and it's a bit like watching a puppy slowly sinking in a river at the moment.

TimFromRuislip · 25/11/2017 23:28

I like how Nadiya still has her own teeth (I mean like no veneers or Hollywood teeth!). I find it quite endearing though I imagine if she comes back next year they'll be gleaming like Davood's.

HangryHanderson · 25/11/2017 23:55

Thank you to the pp who reminded me of Matt and Flavia at the same stage of the competition (week 10, series 5) had totally forgotten it and having returned to it, am also amazed he got through, having forgotten both routines. Had forgotten he was only 20. Len really went for Craig after the samba.
Len was really pro-Matt and talked about him embracing the competition (at which point I thought of him embracing Flavia and realised just how good Vincent was on that show and maintaining their professional partnership. And Camilla for that matter with Brenda). I know Vincent had a ding dong with Kristina but he was faithful to Flavia, wasn't he? I liked seeing him on Strictly tonight.
I read somewhere he said Strictly have asked him to return as a pro on a few occasions but he has always said no.

Matt does sit down but I think that would have been the end position given the start of the routine, just far too many bars early redemption samba (second dance) that he also botched followed by Len's rucus with Craig

question: were Matt and Flavia being shipped hard at the time or was everyone being respectful and just liked him because he was cute?
second question: were the scores never submitted half way through the dance during this series? (I remember Patrick and Anya getting a ten for AS because it was already submitted and the mistake was in the last few seconds of the routine) - yes, Matt gave up before the end but I thought the scores had been given by then?

HangryHanderson · 25/11/2017 23:57

Why did I think Chris Parker also sat down in series 1? Am I just getting mixed up with his toddler antics in his paso?
