I would love a Debbeh/AB dance-off, but we would never see it.

Even if that's how the voting went, there would be some "creative accounting" to ensure that these two didn't go head-to-head util the final.

I think Davood will be in the dance off, but I would hate to see him go. I wasn't fussed on him at the beginning, but he has grown on me - he just seems a really nice lad.

The judges want to keep their favourites, Debbeh (I'm 59 you now) and AB (I'm so humble and so blessed) in until the bitter, bitter end. Hopefully the two of them will end up in a cage fight for the trophy. And if so, I want Debbeh to win. She's only little but she's wiry - stands a good chance.

Joe’s vote has been tested a couple of times, so I think he’s safe at that position on the leader board. Katya (and Mr Katya on the choreography) is playing a blinder again.

I know the likelihood of it happening is less than winning the Euromillions lottery but I wonder what they would do if the result came out as one top couple on 7, four couples on 8, one bottom couple on 9, would they put the couple with the next lowest public vote in the dance off against the one who got 7?

I remember the debacle the year Tom Chambers won, when they put all three couples through to the final because the public vote threw the system out. As I recall there were only three couples in the semi-final and the top two were tied with the Judges and in those days they left out the next number when people tied.

See my assumption on “Joe Varney” was that Giovanni was so Italian that he had to be a pastiche, therefore he was probably just some Cockney bloke called Joe Varney who was putting on an Italian accent Grin

I went out, yes OUT last night so have just caught up whilst lying in bed feeling a bit sorry for myself.

I thought the 'present' from Mollie to AJ smacked of saying goodbye to the show. Perhaps they think their time is up? Their rumba was sweet enough though.

Didn't like Davoods AT. I did enjoy ABs charleston, she's a good performer. She just talks in trite sound bite type language which doesn't come across as very natural IMO.

Liked Gemma's performance, loved Joes samba.
Unmoved by TLDM but finding Joe Varney fitter every week!

There were indeed dating for a while, it seems they split up just before he did his second series of SCD where he was partnered with a friend of hers.

Loved Giovanni dressed as a cat, and I don't even like cats! Debbie was a marvel as usual.

Poor Davood, that music shouldn't have been anywhere near an Argentine Tango, the steps just didn't make any sense without the right music to set the mood and tone.

Puzzled by the Mollie and AJ showmance storyline, isn't he gay?

Thought AB was a clodhopper throughout that charleston, didn't enjoy it all.

Joe was fun and also looked great in his make up.

Gemma's hair was so unflattering, like a cottage loaf plonked on her head. Like a PP I wonder why she isn't pressed right up against Aljaz when she is in hold.

I think Davood may be in danger. It seems a theme of this series that awful music choices are a factor in deciding who goes home.

Hangry does it again - where do you find these ancient Strictly videos? I'd forgotten James and Camilla entirely, but you're right, that was a great routine from the days before there was faffin' abaht.

I loved, loved, loved Joe and Katya's samba last night. Best routine of the series so far for me, and I wanted it to get 40. I hoped I'd love Gemma and Alijaz's quickstep, but although I quite enjoyed it, it didn't have the wow factor for me. Thought she looked wonderful though, and I like Alijaz much more this series - first time I've warmed to him in any way, I think he's relaxed into Strictly and is more outgoing than he's been before. I didn't enjoy Alexandra and Gorka's charleston, but then I don't think I expected to. The charleston quite often leaves me cold, and I just don't think it suits tall, elegant types. I think it was over-marked.

I now have a wishlist for the final, apologies if it's a bit premature!! I would like to see Gemma and Alijaz, Debbie and Joe Varney (like others I can get a bit irritated by Debbie, but I'd love to see an older contestant in the final even though she keeps going on about it), Joe and Katya, and Davood and Nadiya, with Davood and Nadiya going out first. I don't think my wishes are going to come true, though, because there's zero chance of Alexandra being booted even if she's in another DO.

I'd like the final to be Alexandra, Debbie, Joe - definitely - and Mollie from the others that are possibles. I know Mollie isn't the best of the other three but I like her the most.

Gemma's hair and dress was supposed to be a copy of Barbra Streisand's set-up in Hello Dolly They didn't do it badly IMO.

I thought Debbie's hair looked better, as if the colour had been toned down from its Screaming Peroxide, and it made her look younger. Thank goodness she reminded me she is 59 !

I want Debbie to win but she wobbled badly on her first spin and a couple of times her facial expression looked like she was in Sainsbury's not quite able to spot the baked beans.

I got bored in Alexandra's Charleston. They were just side by side the whole time. Charlestons are usually my favourite too.

I missed most of Mollie's dance because I was trying to put some butter in my baked potato and somehow that was more interesting.

I wonder to what extent actors have an advantage over say, sports stars or people from breakfast telly? I imagine that it must really help to be able to act - you'd be less self conscious, wouldn't you? And these days when there is so much theming faffing abaht it seems to even more important.
Just musing...
