Chelsee lost to Harry Judd. Frankly he was always going to win, but she also blew up in the finals through a combination of nerves and a hugely overambitious showdance.

I’m not a huge fan of Alexandra’s more X-Factor style of persona, it’s just not to my personal taste (which is probably indirectly related to race and class). However I think the personal attacks she has got from day one are completely out of order, and unless people are saying something flagrantly untrue like a total ringer saying “I was expecting to go out Week 1” or “I just sat on a chair” then there’s no call to go around accusing contestants of insincerity with no evidence. Likewise Debbie who has never hurt a fly. Honestly, Anne Widdecombe got an easier ride than these two.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/12/2017 20:49

Flowers all round. Grin

RosyWelshcakes · 02/12/2017 20:49

No Rosy no one has said anything. So like I said before, why don't you say here if you are Asian/ Black and dislike AB.
I know I am right

Of course you are.

totalnamechanger · 02/12/2017 20:50

green I'm with you in that it is too personal to be a lovely fuzzy thread. I'm not in a position to say if someone who I don't know is racist or not.

I am however mindful of how strong/opinionated women are treated differently from strong/opinionated men and strong/opinionated black women can get even more negativity. I agree that this is sometimes insidious therefore not conscious.

Saying 'I can't be racist because I like X (who is Iranian/ Korean/ Trinidadian etc)' is silly. You can be racist but still like someone of another particular race. You can have 'preferred' races. You may well not be racist- I don't know you- but that isn't a good argument.

RosemaryHoight · 02/12/2017 20:55

I was expecting Mollie's rhumba to be embarrassing, but I thought it was really sweet and quite good.
It may have seemed of to watch her vamping young AJ.

I was pleased for Joe with the music choice for a samba, I hope he gets through.

I really liked Davood, Debbie and Alexandra's dances.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/12/2017 20:56

I thought grouchy was joking as well. But time is in a warp on Strictly.

After all, AJ was born in 1994, and yet he is only 9.

And Tess has been 27 for 43 years . . . .

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/12/2017 21:00

Saying 'I can't be racist because I like X (who is Iranian/ Korean/ Trinidadian etc)' is silly. You can be racist but still like someone of another particular race.

Not silly, actually. Racism is defined as prejudice directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. Not that one's own race and a few other races as well are superior.

TheDrsDocMartens · 02/12/2017 21:01

Of course, I liked Harry too! That was the best Glitterball présentation with Bruce chasing McFly.

FuzzyCustard · 02/12/2017 21:01

Ha ha schaden, is she 59 by any chance? (I am, did you know?)

IhaveChillyToes · 02/12/2017 21:05

DO predictions?

Gemma vs Davood are the obvious ones as bottom two

But think it could be any of them actually

What do you guys think?

CassandraCross · 02/12/2017 21:06

My thoughts

Not that keen on Gemma & Alijaz's quickstep
I know Mollie & AJ's rumba wasn't technically the best but I thought they portrayed it well to the music and I love her for her sheer joy and love of being in SCD
Joe and Katya's Samba was so weirdly out there I loved it
Debbie and Giovanni's American Smooth was beautiful
Davood and Nadiya's Argentine Tango started well and it was a real shame he stumbled a bit and lost balance, like someone else said I'm not keen on really fast AT's and could have done without the gusset flash
Alexandra and Gorka's Charleston, I thought it was good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I do think AB is let down a lot by wardrobe and make-up and I don't know how they get it so wrong when they have such a good base to work from, I thought she looked fabulous last week when she did the Rumba.

I voted for Joe, Debbie and Mollie, because they were my favourites overall.

IhaveChillyToes · 02/12/2017 21:07

It could also be Joe and Molly in DO too

And even AB and Debbie

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/12/2017 21:07

I worry that it will be Davood because I do like him but there were obvious mistakes in the dance.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/12/2017 21:08

Wonder what the judges would do if it was Debbie/Alexandra dance-off!

GrouchyKiwi · 02/12/2017 21:11

Is it mathematically possible to have both Debbie and Alexandra in the dance off this week, since they're tied at the top?

Asking because my maths isn't the hottest. Wink

IhaveChillyToes · 02/12/2017 21:12

I do think Molly and AJ should have had marks taken off them for illegal lifts so in reality would be lower down leader board

FuzzyCustard · 02/12/2017 21:13

I loved Joe's dance the best because I think it was clever and also a risk that paid off.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/12/2017 21:15

I can't do the maths either. I just want to know who the judges would choose since they rated the dances equally Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/12/2017 21:15

Well, 8fuzzy - it's hard to say. Somebody is 59*, but for the life of me I can't remember who!

If only one of the contestants would let the cat out of the bag and tell us her age.

Grin
JonSnowsHair · 02/12/2017 21:17

Am I the only one who didn’t like Molly’s dance? I found it really dull, she didn’t “do” very much.

Rooting for Joe to win. Debbie is too professional and experienced, it wouldn’t be fair if she won. It is supposed to be a contest for amateur dancers, after all.

Sorry not a spoiler I meant in people's favourites

IhaveChillyToes · 02/12/2017 21:20

It had JOE 1st

Debbie 2nd

AB 3rd

Molly 4th

Gemma 5th

Davood 6th

In favourites not voting wise iyswim

CassandraCross · 02/12/2017 21:21

We need someone with a maths brain to work out all the various permutations Kiwi and two couples tied at the top and two at the bottom didn't they which skews everything.

Did it go 6-6-5-4-3-3? If so, and you went in reverse with the public vote you could end up with one couple with 9 points, four couples with 8 points and 1 couple with 7 points, with 1 bottom couple receiving 9 points and one top couple receiving 7!

I think Gemma, Mollie and Davood are the ones in danger of being in the dance off.

IhaveChillyToes · 02/12/2017 21:21

I have reported my 1st post in case people think it is spoiler.
