Lot of fuss in papers today about Peter Kay's bit on Strictly. Didn't really think it was anything too different from his usual appearances?

ElspethFlashman · 19/11/2017 10:33

It was a hell of a lot better than last year's appearance, tbh. I didn't see anything untoward this year really.

bonfireheart · 19/11/2017 10:39
  • think this will be Aj's last year before he is replaced by Neil.
  • can the producers not read? Every year everyone complains about the music choices but this year has been by far the worst.
  • the judging panel needs a shake up, far too many sour puss faces on there.
MrsJayy · 19/11/2017 10:39

He did the same pinch arse joke last year but I am sure it was Anton not a lancaster vip Hmm I love Peter Kays programmes but hate it whenhe is on as himself anywhere he comesover as a right twat.

MrsJayy · 19/11/2017 10:41

My dd is obsessed with Neil jones since i pointed him out a few weeks back she thinks he is fab.

bonfireheart · 19/11/2017 10:58

Think Debbie could be in trouble this week. The judges going OTT over her, especially Craig really backfired and turned the tide against her. Her dances all seem samey now. She needs to do a traditional ballroom, and stick to her strengths of slower balletic dances. I love Gio, but don't think he has the following of others pros too which doesn't help.
At the moment the public are really behind Joe, Davood and Gemma. I really can't see Alex winning. Plus Susan and Johnnie are just too weak.

MrsJayy · 19/11/2017 11:01

Debbies samba rolls were ridiculous i was cringing

SoupDragon · 19/11/2017 11:06

I've just re-watched the end of Joe and Katya's dance and she doesn't appear to wince at all so I wonder if she didn't actually hit the floor.

MrsJayy · 19/11/2017 11:11

She didn't hit the floor i think katiya is fearless and feels no pain she just throws herself about

blueskyinmarch · 19/11/2017 11:36

I watched the show with friends last night and they all seem to love Susan. I really can’t get on with her at all. They were shocked at me like I had kicked a puppy or something!

I loved Joe, Gemma and Alexandra last night. Debbie is starting to get on my tits. I want Jonnie to go.

The costumes were absolutely terrible. It was like they couldn’t be arsed schlepping all the stuff up north so made do with stuff they could find in charity shops in Blackpool.

CurbsideProphet · 19/11/2017 11:40

I caught up this morning. I thought Gemma looked like a pro and danced beautifully Smile
MrsJayy I was also cringing at Debbie's samba rolls Confused
Poor Mollie would have progressed fabulously with an experienced pro like Vincent. AJ doesn't seem to know how to get the best out of his partner. I would prefer Neil to take his place. Maybe next year!

MrsJayy · 19/11/2017 11:41

Speaking of Susan how is she friends with Muriel gray AND jk Rowling it makes no sense her showbiz pals

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/11/2017 11:56

I can't stand Peter Kay - what a tosser!

Bejazzled · 19/11/2017 11:57

I'm not the most perceptive, but how I loved Kevin's facial expressions during ABs usual faux emotions performance.
Peter Kay was a disgrace, he shouldn't be asked back, that's twice he has hijacked and embarrassed himself.

Apart from that - Gemma, Daveed and Susan for me.

Bejazzled · 19/11/2017 11:59

Davood sorry

MrsJayy · 19/11/2017 12:02

If Alexadra just calmed down a bit I think people would like her more it isn't x factor she doesn't need to act like that but maybe that is how she is over emotional and gushy.

Angelalley · 19/11/2017 12:06

i would love to see debbie and alex in DO
might make the less cocky.

RosyWelshcakes · 19/11/2017 12:06

They were shocked at me like I had kicked a puppy or something!

And that’s exactly the reaction the producers hoped for when she was signed up.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2017 12:08

Cave Yes but Joe was facing away from her, he sort of threw her over his shoulders! Difficult to squat facing away! I'm going to watch the recording in slow motion this aft.!

CassandraCross · 19/11/2017 12:10

One I feel exactly the same as you, something is lacking from this series (and last years imo) - I don't know what it is but for me it falls flat every week. There are one or two 'good' dances but none I've thought "ooh must watch that again", it all seems to lack atmosphere and that indefinable 'something special'. I've watched every Strictly since it started, always full of anticipation for each new series but I was disappointed last year and have become totally bored with this series.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2017 12:13

I thought Alex's dance was really good yesterday , Her tears were genuine. She's another ringer but I prefer her to Debbeh.

IMO the judges esp. Shirley were cruel to Johnny, do they know he has one and half legs fgs? I tried to vote for him.

Bejazzled · 19/11/2017 12:15

The audience whooping or booing and standing ovations for.every.single.dance. is annoying

RosyWelshcakes · 19/11/2017 12:17

If Alexadra just calmed down a bit I think people would like her more it isn't x factor she doesn't need to act like that but maybe that is how she is over emotional and gushy.

I wouldn’t like her.

The tears she shed for her Mum weeks ago were as false as the rest she’s shed since.

In fact I think it’s time all of the ‘play on people’s sympathies’ aspects of the show were done away with. It’s distasteful in the extreme to use your dead mum, your father with dementia etc etc to try and squeeze a few more votes out of people.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/11/2017 12:25

I've just read Monkseal - he wasn't overly impressed with Peter Kay (among others) either.

ilovesooty · 19/11/2017 12:31

Rosy who the hell are you to judge her tears for her mum?
