I'm afraid to say that Tess is not a very nice person irl, and I can't bear her on SCD.
Sorry, I haven't posted before but have lurked on the SCD threads ever since they began and am a total superfan. Also because of my job I have met loads of the dancers. I talked to AJ's dad on Wednesday!

Tess exaggerates her Northern accent at times, and that annoys me, but I like her. Claudia is beginning to grow on me,, but wish she would drop her so unfunny attempts at humour.

Ooh, inside info. My colleague has been to the Donahey weekends and has met runners for ACd, and she says the same about Tess.

Are the contestants what you expect them to be? Heard positive things about Peter Andre.

I work for a charity and met all the pros in 2008 when we were filming a Children in Need video. Our break was the same as theirs, and I met them all in the old "doughnut" at the BBC (remember that?!) Anton was divine, Karen Hardy was absolutely lovely and Matthew Cutler was gorgeous (well I thought so then anyway!) Since then lots of them have attended our biggest fundraising event of the year and I've met the Jordans (Ola nice, James horrible), Flavia (and Jimi, who was DJing), AJ and Chloe (absolute darlings but so so YOUNG!!!) and some more but I can't remember off the top of my head! Tess attended one of our projects on behalf of CiN and was absolutely dreadful - totally uninterested and not even pretending to be, yet putting on a great smile and all the "nicey-nicey" stuff as soon as the cameras were on her.

There won't be any nasturtiums in the food in our house, either. FK is safe with us.

And Kiwi won't be on the menu either. FK will have guest of honour status at the head of the table, and if her tiny wings are able, she can carve the festive Grub.

(I do have teeth, honest - they just seem to shrink into my gums and make me look like a crone when I grin.)

Aww thanks! Anton was totally lovely and he's been my favourite ever since - if I ever got the chance to be on the show I would want him (but only if it's ballroom, give me Pashpot for latin!)

I meant to say, although I couldn't bear to watch the last couple of Brucie-hosted series, the clip that TulipQueen posted is brilliant. I've been re-watching Mark and Karen's salsa for years, but just the dance bit, without the judges' comments. I'm struck again by a) how young the judges look and b) the extent to which Bruno's become a caricature of himself. Time to go, Tonioli!

I like Claudia, but I do wish they'd drop the comedy props interlude. I'm sure if she was allowed to adlib she'd be much funnier.

Yes I agree mornington Nice to have you back btw! Those 'comic' interludes are so fake and stupid. Probably a director thought they'd be good to keep the children interested or something Because it's a 'family' show

Fran from Strictly Ballroom was on ITT tonight, which was a real treat. Not sure how long Susan will last to be honest, but then we're people necessarily voting for Louise last year or Kevin?

I think Susan could be in DO this week. Be interesting to see if Debbie is in DO again in light of the press furore this week....
