Oooh, thanks for linking to the Ultimate Strictly site, ArtfulPuss. I've just been looking at the statistics - the increase in number of 10s given is pretty stark. I know we didn't have as many ringers in Ye Good Olde Days, but even so, to have gone from no 10s at all in S1 to a total of 28 last series is quite something. In the first 5 series, a maximum of one dance got a perfect 40 (but none at all in S1 or S3). It suddenly leapt to 5 perfect 40s in S6, aligned with Craig giving six 10s that series. So, has the quality of dahnce improved, dahlings, or has there been points inflation?

I also followed the links through to info about the band, but it didn't give me the identity of the Man in the Hat.

Good lesson on the jive yesterday ITT. I like it when they have time to do the "Dance Card' bit. Though the record breaking bit is a big 'meh'. Apart from the fact that it's a good way to learn the steps

See I thought the Jive “lesson” was a bit rubbish! How can they expect to engage the general public in “having a go” at the steps when they skip straight over the basics and try to teach a Gold level figure like the “toe heel swivel”?

They would have been far better off doing a couple of pre-Bronze figures like a “Fallaway Throwaway” and a “Change of Place” (either to left or right).

At least when Shirley did the Cha Cha Cha masterclass the other week she kept it reasonably simple with a Basic step and Lock step before getting carried away with the harder stuff!

Cave I must admit that Dh came in and started TALKING to me at the time , so I couldn't follow the details, that was Janette's fault was it?

I’m guessing it was Janette’s choice as to what to demonstrate, it would just be nice to have the basics covered.

I think the series they’ve done with Pasha and Chloe demonstrating the characteristics of each dance has been more interesting/informative.

On other matters, has anyone seen that Anton has a Swing album out shortly with an, er, interesting cover of Arctic Monkeys’ I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
