When Davood came on, DD (nearly 12) said " I don't want to see his nipples!" :)

SoupDragon · 20/11/2017 14:11

Why don't they have the Whatever-a-thon at Blackpool where there is plenty of space? Is it because they wouldn't be able to watch everyone?

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2017 14:14

Is it though Schadenade? The judges can surely see through the flashy, badly executed moves (a la Katiya and Joe). Well one would hope so Hmm.

reachforthestarseveryday · 20/11/2017 14:23

When Davood came on, DD (nearly 12) said " I don't want to see his nipples!

However, Bruno and Craig did Hmm

FuzzyCustard · 20/11/2017 14:28

Hello glorious SCD-fans. I missed you all last night (feeling poorly) but have caught up with your musings now.

Summary - agree about Davood's nipples.

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2017 14:38

Both Davood and Joe need to breathe through their noses! I remember when they had water when they'd finished dancing ( while being judged) what happened to it?

RhiannonOHara · 20/11/2017 14:47

Also meant to say that Kevin went up in my estimation when he said so passionately and spontaneously to Susan 'You're a beautiful dancer! after she'd said she knew people at home were thinking she was the most rubbish.

TheDrsDocMartens · 20/11/2017 14:49

I’d like to seeDsvid Tennant but he’s too A list now so what about Mrs Tennant? Georgia Moffat, I reckon she’d give it a good go.

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2017 14:49

Yes it's lovely to see the true friendship between Kevin and Susan.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/11/2017 15:15

Oh Fuzzy - sorry you have been unwell.

I hope that you'll be feeling better by tomorrow so that you are on top sarcastic form for Masterchef.

Clawdy · 20/11/2017 15:27

Can't see Georgia M doing it, she and David seem to like their privacy.

IhaveChillyToes · 20/11/2017 16:37

Susan was on a slightly strange but still compelling programme this afternoon

After doctors on bbc1

It was called armchair detective and she was quite good as a presenter

It was totally different format but quite fun but very cheesy Grin

IhaveChillyToes · 20/11/2017 16:40

Oh dear Fuzzy Sad

Why wasn't his outfit like a tuxedo pattern but sort of like a one piece? He was supposed to be 007 wasn't he?

I never remember seeing 007 dressed like that

Apart from appealing to those that like looking at nipples, I guess that was only reason

He had the best music and staging though but love 007 films so am biased

TimFromRuislip · 20/11/2017 16:47

You know how they all say they've become great friends with their dancer, do any of them actually stay in touch? Obviously you can't really know much beyond what the celebs post on Instagram etc, unless you know them a little in real life, but I'd be interested in who has stayed friends. I hope Kevin and Susan do, their friendship seems genuine.

MrsJayy · 20/11/2017 16:49

Summary - agree about Davoods nipples had me loling Grin

MrsJayy · 20/11/2017 16:51

Davood was doing the distracting Naydia helped with her high kicking look at me dancing . Their dance wasn't that great the nipples could have saved him

FuzzyCustard · 20/11/2017 16:54

I watched Susan on Armchair Detectives...loved the bit where she said that as Lord Peter Wimsey (her ideal man) wasn't real, it explained why she turned out like she did!
(Excuse - I am having a sofa day!)

Masterchef? Ooh are we bitchingdiscussing that one too? Separate thread?
(Excuse - my house only has a kitchen because it came with one)

MrsJayy · 20/11/2017 17:04

Did we all know Susans parents were Sir & Lady Calman ?

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 17:09

Christine Bleakley notoriously went on holiday to Sitges (famously gay-friendly resort) with Matthew Cutler, Ian Waite and Mark Foster the year after she did the show so they obviously had made proper friends. The tabloids ran the photos with an “ooh, lucky girl! which of these handsome ladies’ men does she have her eye on?” spin because this was ten years ago and things were surprisingly different then.

GrouchyKiwi · 20/11/2017 17:17

Susan's Dad was Lord Advocate of Scotland or something, wasn't he?

Sometimes I forget google exists: he was Chief Medical Officer of Scotland.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 17:18

And yes I did know Susan’s dad had a knighthood, because it’s a running joke on The News Quiz that Miles Jupp is the World’s Poshest Man, who treats all the panelists, especially the Northern/Scottish ones, as peasants.

One week Susan accused him of this for the seventeenth time that series and he suddenly undercut the entire conceit brilliantly by saying “if I was going to patronise anyone on grounds of class it probably wouldn’t be the privately educated daughter of a knight of the realm”. Which sounds mean written down but was funny and warm in context.

I did notice that the SCD portrayal of Susan’s proud Mum and Dad making the trip all the way down to That London very much did not refer to them as Sir Kenneth and Lady Ann.

TimFromRuislip · 20/11/2017 17:32

That's nice Calman (re Christine).

I love Miles on the news quiz. Recently I think he and Hugo rifkind were trying to work out who was posher. I also forget that I know that about Susan's dad.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 17:43

Sir Kenneth wasn’t born particularly posh AFAIK, he just became a really eminent doctor and the knighthood came with the jobs.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/11/2017 17:59

There is, Fuzzy

I thought I'd seen your moniker on it already (clever little, that, eh? Grin )

We are currently compiling an entire Tudor court from our bearded lovelies.
