Hasn't there been some ongoing dispute between Debbie and her step-son over Paul's Will?

I think so CaveMum. I heard that Paul's son has chalenged it, but I could be wrong so don't quote me on that.

If it's true I don't know why he feels the need to argue - he'll hardly be on the bones of his backside.

IhaveChillyToes · 20/11/2017 09:56

I think you have it - @WingMirrorSpider - I think it was Rebecca Adlington SmileGlitterballSmile

How horrible of DFail she is either Paul's widow or wife AngrySadAngry

TheSassyAssassin · 20/11/2017 09:57

What's a stud-muffin Mr Boris? Daddy gets so annoyed when she says that Grin

Plus Daddy seems to be spending a lot of his time whippet-washing. Mummy says it's good because it gives her time to think about Joe other things, but am a bit worried our dogs are going to go bald! Wink

www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/2030397/debbie-mcgee-hits-back-at-paul-daniels-problem-child-after-he-called-her-a-witch-and-accuses-her-of-cutting-him-out-of-magicians-will/

Found this - just a quick trawl so there is probably much more out there - this was just the first article to come up.

And it appears that Paul junior is on the bones of his backside, but largely through his own fault, if this is to be believed.

Sassy Grin

We have the shiniest whippets in the North-East - and that's saying something!

CeeBeeBee · 20/11/2017 10:03

I think Bradley Walsh would be very entertaining to watch on Strictly.

CeeBeeBee · 20/11/2017 10:07

Hasn't the media always tried to portray her as some gold digger by being married to Paul? IMO, she has proved them wrong and has remained dignified even now.

MrsJayy · 20/11/2017 10:13

Yes Paul jr is accusing her of keeping money from him he was expecting a million apparently.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/11/2017 10:13

I love Bradley Walsh.

I would also like Idris Elba but he is far too A-list to agree.

Elendon · 20/11/2017 10:14

Was out Saturday and Sunday night!

It amazes me how the judges could keep a straight face at the dance off. It was obviously going to be Jonnie.

I had a feeling it would be a big dancer with someone struggling, though I did think it might be Susan and Jonnie. Susan was dire this week.

Swannykazoo · 20/11/2017 10:32

Still feeling the love though I might be enjoying -it takes 2 more during the week than the actual Strictly. Like enjoying Christmas Eve more than Christmas

RosyWelshcakes · 20/11/2017 10:33

I read something long before Paul died and his son was mentioned. I think he’s been a lost soul for a long time. I believe at one stage a magic shop was opened for him but it was then taken back as it was losing money hand over first. It no longer does.

IhaveChillyToes · 20/11/2017 11:29

I really hope last Saturday will stop people saying that Debbie is a ringer like AB

There is no way people can say now that her ballet training 30/40 years ago has made her an amazing dancer and that she is a ringer

AB dancing in west end (amongst other shows being choreographed by CRH) and being at least 20 years younger makes her a definite ringer IMHO AngryAngryAngry

I really would like to see Debbie in the final so yes I am biased GlitterballGlitterballGlitterballGlitterball

socialmisfit · 20/11/2017 11:40

I'd like to see Lisa Faulkner do it.

I also wonder if Sophie Raworth has been asked? Or David Tennant?

Maybe Jo Pavey can give it a go once her elite running career is definitely over.

CeeBeeBee · 20/11/2017 11:42

Do either Sister Act or The Bodyguard have Samba, Cha Cha and ballroom in it?

I'm not denying that she's a ringer but different dances, different technique.

Clawdy · 20/11/2017 12:16

David Tennant far too A list. Like Olivia Colman or Sarah Lancashire. Would be great to see them, but no way.

IhaveChillyToes · 20/11/2017 12:28

@CeeBeeBee my point is that loads of people on here and elsewhere say that Debbie is a ringer cos she danced ballet (also not samba or VW etc) 40 years ago, ok I agree she has kept supple with yoga and Pilates

My point is that AB is 30 years younger and has been dancing to West End standard (ok also not in samba or VW etc) but still dancing and singing on stage within last 5 years

I don't think AB wasn't even born when Debbie was dancing Ballet at RB

So IMHO very unfair of people to say they are both equal as ringers - I don't see them as equal at all

IhaveChillyToes · 20/11/2017 12:30

Sorry @CeeBeeBee that came over a bit aggressive

I wasn't meaning too Blush

RosyWelshcakes · 20/11/2017 12:38

I really hope last Saturday will stop people saying that Debbie is a ringer like AB

I agree.

CeeBeeBee · 20/11/2017 12:56

Point taken Chilli and don't worry, I knew what you meant. Smile

Thing is where do we draw the line where dance experience is concerned? We could also argue that Mollie King's girl band career means that she's done a lot of choreography and that would give her an advantage in the competition, but it clearly hasn't.

Anyway, back to AB and Debbie, they're not really comparable in their backgrounds imo.

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2017 13:26

They are both stage PERFORMERS though, so are not as frightened as some of the others.

Alex even more because she's done it recently . Debbie is very good and has obviously kept herself flexible (some ballet dancers wouldn't). So maybe she's not quite as much a ringer as Alex.

I like to see the 'journey' (like a lot of the public) who voted for Ore not Danni. Last year.

sheldonesque · 20/11/2017 13:27

For me, Debbie was not 'technically superior' in the dance off. Overall? Absolutely. Every day and twice on Sundays or on Saturday as Strictly is

But this dance? For me, she looked like a drunk lass flailing about trying to stop her pint from spilling. Quite a few stumbles too. So although the better dancer stayed, the best dance it was not.

RhiannonOHara · 20/11/2017 13:31

Boe and Ball looked like a couple of salesmen out on the piss, The Office style. One of them was singing flat as fuck as well (I suspect Boe).

I called Debbie to be in the DO with Jonnie. People are clearly not voting for her; she needs to be at the top of the board. Having said that, unless she was up against AB then of course the judges would save her. She looked furious to be in the DO.

Her samba was poor; too much posing on a podium, for which anyone else would have got slated.

It was Jonnie's time to go though. Lovely speech from him, I thought.

I was underwhelmed by AB's quickstep. Didn't seem very stylish or sporty.

Susan was OK but the dancers got in the way. TBH I think the original Strictly Ballroom paso scene is underwhelming, so Kevin's re-creation of it wasn't going to be that brilliant! I'm happy for her to stay in and thought she was joking with Shirley rather than being so deluded as to be genuinely correcting her.

Davood's outfit was horrible and distracting, but I think his paso was quite poor. Gemma was the best. She's listening and taking instruction and I think she's very impressive.

All round, it suffered from too many extra dancers/too much desperation to fill the space and to have gimmicky dances and costumes. Joe's set and outfits were just a headache.

Can't wait for it to get back to 'normal' next week.

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2017 13:45

Yes Rhiannon I agree about Davood's top it was distracting (not in a good way!). IMO unnecessary, James Bond wears elegant clothes.

Though on the whole the extra dancers were better than last year.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/11/2017 14:07

I can't understand why it is considered "technically superior" to execute a difficult move appallingly badly than it is to perform a comparatively simple one with effortless ease and grace.

FFS - evn I could get myself dropped in a complicated lift! However, producing a graceful waltz with no showy bits would be beyond my wildest dreams my ability.
