Apparently Rebecca Adlington really wanted to do it but hasn’t been asked - maybe that’s who you’re thinking of, Ihave?

MrsJamin · 20/11/2017 06:24

Nick Knowles from Diy sos sounded very keen on ITT a few weeks ago.

NumberEightyOne · 20/11/2017 06:59

The Daily Mail are now describing Debbie McGee as Paul Daniel's ex-wife. They know exactly what they are doing and they are bloody evil.

BalloonSlayer · 20/11/2017 07:02

It's not only whether people would love to do it though, it's whether they can commit all the time. People from say, Eastenders, who are having to continue to work all the time while training are at a disadvantage compared to someone who can cancel everything (or didn't have much on in the first place) and devote all their time to training.

Hepzibar · 20/11/2017 07:12

IHaveChillyToes Richard Madeley?

SoupDragon · 20/11/2017 07:20

Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell for the non Eastenders fans)

chicaguapa · 20/11/2017 07:23

Chris Evans said on the radio that he'd do it for £1m for CIN.

LizzieSiddal · 20/11/2017 07:28

chic did he mean he’d pay a million or is he expecting someone to donate to CIN for him?

SoupDragon · 20/11/2017 07:37

I assume that would be his fee from the BBC but he would not receive any of the money himself.

chicaguapa · 20/11/2017 07:42

Someone texted in and asked how much it would take for him to do Strictly. And he said £1m for CIN. He went back to that a couple of times during the show and reiterated that if £1m was raised for CIN he'd agree to do it. Lynn Bowles said that it sounds like the gauntlet had been thrown down. I've not heard anything about it since, though I imagine he's asked every year.

LittleWitch · 20/11/2017 07:42

Numbereightyone what do you mean? Why would they do that? (I don’t read it so I’m out of the loop if it’s a running story sorry).

LizzieSiddal · 20/11/2017 07:43

The BBC wouldn’t be allowed to give him that much! Sorry I can’t stand him, he’s such an idiot.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 07:45

I’d love to see Patrick Stewart do it. Or Jason Isaacs for that matter, but they’re both so A/B list that they'd do DWTS if anything. I’d also love to see Rio Ferdinand do it - he was a very serious ballet dancer as a child (attended RBS briefly) and I’d love to see what he could do (rather than boxing ffs).

TheSassyAssassin · 20/11/2017 07:50

Ooh Horse love the idea of an All-star!

MrsJ ikwym but would quite like to see Jamie Oliver have a go. Also an ex- Prime Minister / Chancellor because the banter on here would be fab!

Gary Barlow
Vinnie Jones
Emma Bunton
Ed Miliband (again for the banter)
Would like to see Chris Evans have a go!
John Barrowman (of JHJ as he'd be christenend - Jazz Hands John)
Paloma Faith

TheSassyAssassin · 20/11/2017 07:52

or and christened obvs Confused

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 07:53

I assume that the Chris Evans thing would work via a dedicated donations line to CIN. CE’s Breakfast listeners would donate a load of fivers and his showbiz mates would donate huge wedges to get it up to the million (because it would be immensely embarrassing for him if he missed the target) and then he’d sign up for SCD as a regular contestant on the regular fees (probably also donated to CIN because otherwise it would be really odd for us to donate money so that a millionaire can earn fifty grand or whatever).

It’s a workable scheme but it would unbalance Strictly, especially the “I’m donating my fees to charity so the more you vote for me the more they get” aspect.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 07:55

I’d quite like to see Nigella Lawson having a go just to see her looking lovely in the frocks. I’m sure she’s been asked.

KiaOraAura · 20/11/2017 07:56

Every year on Strictly, there has been a 'moment', a time when something special has happened. Its always been a celeb with little or no previous dance training. I'm still waiting, but this year I think it wont happen and the programme will be all the worse for it.

SoupDragon · 20/11/2017 07:57

reiterated that if £1m was raised for CIN he'd agree to do it.

Oh, right. I'd misunderstood what I read

TheSassyAssassin · 20/11/2017 07:58

You could be right Kia. So far there hasn't been a single dance I would YouTube again as in previous years have absolutely NOT watched Jay's jive eleventy-billion times!

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/11/2017 08:04

I can’t imagine Nigella doing anything where she doesn’t have very strict control over how she’s looks in the end result! We’re not even allowed to see her legs most of the time on her cookery programmes, can you imagine her in a gusset lift Grin

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 20/11/2017 08:08

I did think that Susan’s Bring Me Sunshine quickstep was a properly lovely dance which I dug out to show to my DPILs (who like her but don’t watch SCD). I’ve rewatched Johnnies AS for Oti’s mad lifts. Aston’s troll Salsa was good. Ruth’s samba was hilarious. Debbie’s Paso was gobsmacking. Joes Dr Zhivago VW was lovely.

Alex’s dances have all been great but I’m hoping for her to really stun us with a lyrical slow foxtrot or VW. She’s got beautiful musicality for obvious reasons and I think she could do something stunning.

NumberEightyOne · 20/11/2017 08:15

LittleWitch They are running yet another negative story (which actually has nothing to do with her) and have described her as Paul's ex-wife.

CeeBeeBee · 20/11/2017 08:26

Sassy, Emma Bunton has already been a contestant.

Inkanta · 20/11/2017 08:41

No I don't think Nigella would do it. It may be her leg shape or ankles she's not happy with.
