Bruno is upping the bitchiness this season.

FuzzyCustard · 13/11/2017 20:55

I'd like to see Bruno gone. For me, he's not adding to the programme. I hate his standing-up-and-thrashing-about style (every bloody time, Bruno) and don't think the things he says are helpful at all either.
Can we vote him off?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/11/2017 21:28

What a joy that would be Fuzzy.

The week he wasn't on the show was the best week ever.

HangryHanderson · 13/11/2017 22:37

I agree, he was basically saying she was doomed, because you cannot start gliding when you are used to a canter - and she was always speeding up in other dances too Anton said in training footage.
He should have gone for a RuPaul delivery if that's all he had, like Craig did at the start of the series: Don't. Mess. It. Up.
But in fairness, she did indeed mess it up within seconds and looked annoyed before starting. I do hate that bit anyway tbh - either they cannot change the choreo or it always feels a bit like How To Train Your Dragon when the boy asks what he needs to change then says ''You just pointed to all of me!''
Mollie the other week was one of the few where she had a DO with a set aim not to make a footwork mistake. Otherwise, when it's clear... like Simon or Ruth or Ed it's all just lip service. I prefer it when the sleb just acknowledges that: personally I'd be making a Nomi Malone marbles gag or voodoo doll joke at that point because short of the other person falling over, you may as well just dance with your hands in the air like you just don't care.
DWTS has no DO, tis votes only. I'd rather SCD followed that or did a proper DO - you know, all on stage at same time with unknown music that they dance to like the goodbye song: that would be a carcrash but would eliminate the shock boots as you pick the one who has more dancing chops.

DuckOffAutocorrectYouShiv · 13/11/2017 22:37

I agree that Bruno was unpleasant to Ruth. Unnecessarily so.

ElspethFlashman · 13/11/2017 22:40

We just said "Well he's gonna save Johnnie" and they hadn't even danced yet. That was when it was obvious that unless Johnnie actually fell on his arse, he was gonna be saved.

monkseal.wordpress.com/2017/11/13/strictly-come-dancing-15-week-8-performance/

Beehive in the wind.
A record for having me crack up in the first ten seconds.

Horsemad · 14/11/2017 10:19

Grin Monkseal's on form this week!

RosyWelshcakes · 14/11/2017 10:31

I am shocked at the level of Susan love, she is awful!

Agreed. If she’s not looking like a bull charging a red flag, she looks as if she’s leading out a rugby team.

BertrandRussell · 14/11/2017 10:37

"Agreed. If she’s not looking like a bull charging a red flag, she looks as if she’s leading out a rugby team."

In other words how very dare a woman not be conventionally physically attractive?

Clawdy · 14/11/2017 10:49

There have been lots of comments about physical appearance on here , that's just what happens. Susan can't be exempt, surely? Not sure what point you are trying to make, Bertrand.

Angelalley · 14/11/2017 10:51

i like Susan, she has actually made me like KFG as well.
but then I don't get all the pity fest for Oti having Jonnie.
she had a ringer last year and this year she has to work harder. surely its her job.

RosyWelshcakes · 14/11/2017 10:54

In other words how very dare a woman not be conventionally physically attractive?

In your words.

I have the most respect for the pros who get duds and get on with the job of teaching them to dance to the absolutely best of their ability. This is the reason why Katya has become a favourite of mine. She got Ed Balls as her very first celeb and instead of moaning or just going through the motions she made TV gold. She pushed him with the choreography instead of just prancing around him and looking pretty. I hope she stays on the show for a long time. She deserves to.

HangryHanderson · 14/11/2017 11:04

Loathe as I am to defend posters whose comments verge on the personal, nonetheless as devil's advocate...
(bearing in mind I like Susan's work ethic and love Kevin's approach and choreo) ...Susan's foxtrot/samba were stompy and her fierce face was mardy - footwork and facial expression have nothing to do with her height or size (Amber from Glee won DWTS).
Susan can emote (VW) and be light on her feet (QS) and her tango footwork was good just the frame spoilt it. Her posture and frame are challenged by having to reach up (same as Lesley Joseph) the height difference will usually affect that.
As for her being a bull - she has paso on Saturday so yes, hope she does pull off charging at Kev's tomcapery.
8 dances in...I loved Susan's VW and QS, liked her jive and samba despite its inadequacies, enjoyed her tango with different music played over it, was neutral re her ccc, was not keen on her charleston and would have binned her for the crap foxtrot.
5/8 is pretty good going and more than Mollie, Gemma, Davood and Joe have in terms of personal replays. Mollie and Gemma - I have liked only two of their dances, Davood and Joe three...and Joe's tango and ccc were worse than Susan's.
It wold be boring if we all liked the same things and different music, and different routines mean different things to different people.
horse did you notice the edit to Deb's letters board at the bottom?!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 14/11/2017 11:14

I noticed it had "boobies" written across the bottom.

I thought that couldn't possibly have been on the original board.

HangryHanderson · 14/11/2017 11:14

Mollie - tango and VW (although I did think her ccc and paso were undermarked)
Gemma - charleson and Paso, loved her paso, it really suited her
Davood - ccc (even though Nads danced round him a lot), nonrumba and AS
Joe - Jive, VW and paso

The rest of their dances have either left me cold or weren't that memorable. Or were correctly marked but was still meh about.
Will I throw my dummy out if any of them win? Nope.
Will I resent an Alex or Debbie win? Also not.
Same as if Ringer Jordan wins DWTS (their jive is below - choreography by Mark Ballas)

Horsemad · 14/11/2017 11:16

I did Hangry Wink

HangryHanderson · 14/11/2017 11:22

Although the concept of a semi-finalist having to recreate a past contestant's iconic dance as their second dance is a bit...okay then.
That said, I would pay good money to see them attempt that twist on Strictly - just to see people meltdown as Alex tackles St. Jill's jive or Joe does Jay's jive or Gemma does Sophie's charleston or Davood does Ramp's AT. Viewers wouldn't stand for it here Wink
An interesting exercise nonetheless as it showed that Derek's choreo was pretty strong whoever was dancing it but Meryl and Mak's chemistry was something unique to them.

HangryHanderson · 14/11/2017 11:25

Horse I didn't Blush - it took another poster pointing it out then I was sniggering like a schoolchild juvenile It was like a hidden Easter Egg bless him.

ppeatfruit · 14/11/2017 12:21

Numbereightyone Yes Katiya really tries hard with her contestants, maybe a bit OTT sometimes but she's a good teacher.

I LOVED Ore on ITT yesterday. He's the beeb's 'go to' celeb now.

Oh I forgot to mention that I really respect Alexandra for that AT, she controlled that her basic over enthusiasm very well.

RhiannonOHara · 14/11/2017 12:53

I agree that Katya deserves huge respect and recognition for her work with her slebs. She gave Ed proper dancing while retaining the entertainment factor. I still think they consistently overpraise Joe though

ppeatfruit · 14/11/2017 13:07

I'm lukewarm about both Joe and Davood actually (I was the same about Aston!) Not one of them does it for me.

I prefer Johnny for sex appeal! I find it strange that he was in the DO against 2 legs and won with one and a half legs! I was going to say that not one judge seems to make allowances, maybe they did then!

HangryHanderson · 14/11/2017 13:51

ppeat I was half asleep when ITT was on so only saw a bit of Ore but had an ear worm throughout

See a tear from his eye as he's starting to cry, That's an Ore
Does the jive of his life with replica of his wife, That's an Ore
Danny Mac will ring, ding a ling a ling ding a ling a ling ding a ling a ling
Ringer story
Called a cheat faced defeat could not beat dancing feet of said Ore

I really do need to get a life

Nettletheelf · 14/11/2017 14:22

Nice work, Hangry.

A bit off topic but I was reading about Nicolae Ceausescu this week (ex communist dictator of Romania, violently deposed in 1989) and the article contained a photo of him as a young communist.

It IS AJ (Mollie King’s pro partner). It just IS. It is uncanny. It IS him. I am useless so cannot post a photo but you should google for ‘young Nicolae Ceausescu’ and see whether you agree!!
