And the song list reads like a 'Now that's what I call 2017' cd. Could be good for Jack and Joel- 'Havana' is very popular with the yoofs right now. I'm not that keen- it's always on the radio. My youngest loves it. But I love J and J.

But Despacito ? Really ??

First shout outs for 'featuring Sean Paul' Bingo!

'Smooth' is one of my favourite songs ,ever. Love a bit of Santana.

Simon is supposed to be back.

Shockingly- Grace is NOT singing a cover Grin

TWO Enrique songs! And apparently Sobby is bring very brave singing the J-Lo song. Hmm.

Is get lucky 'latin' ?
It still means Grace and Rat Soup could be the respective nights winners though, and compete for the 'big prize'.

I might have to go out. Either tonight or tomorrow- for a firework display. At least before, missing the the results show on a Sunday wasn't too big a deal. It was bit pants anyway.

Anyway, lots to do today, and I need nibbles and Wine

See y'all later.

Raffles, have some fun in Mexico! I have never been, but dh went there with work years ago and he said its ' an experience' - no where near the sea though and he was working - much nicer on holiday of course with the beach and a nice drink.
yes, i do think all these programmes have had their day and go on too long as well - I am a fan of Strictly this year, but even that drags on with the 'dance off' and the good ones getting the boot ( when they shouldnt) its become very samey as well at times. They all need to come up with new ideas for 2018 - make it a more creative year.

Blimey; that takes some doing.

Piggy I know! I'm 4ft 8. I think she's 4ft 11ish, same as my mum/sister.

Dd1 is 11 and might crash through the 5ft barrier. Grin

CoOp Walnut Whips are lovely.

Don't think I can cope with this shower taking on GM songs next week.

I luffed him so much. This lot are not worthy.

raffles please take me with you! I promise I will be good! I will even pay the excess baggage fee, although shipping me using freight might be cheaper.

Ah, certainly hope I am Stunning in the sun Jane. (Well I’m sure I will be after a few Cuba Libres.) Grin

80’s, yes it’s definitely an experience - been about 6 times previously - but to be honest we don’t venture too far from the pool these days.

I shall be following these threads whilst away so will be expecting a blow by blow account of what is happening - still here for the next 2 Saturdays though - and Raahh I will be expecting you to be chief cheerleader in order to keep J and J in the competition!

George Michael week will be interesting 🤔

Raffles I will be voting for J and J ( via the app, not daft enough to phone of course) in your absence. Have a stunning holiday Grin

yes, have a lovely time away!

have no idea who is going towin it, Rai-elle and Rat soup seem to be the ones being pushed, but us Mumsnetters seem to prefer J and J. they are nice lads. As long as sobby doesnt win, i dont really care to be honest, but its sad that none of the recent winners seem to have much going for them. although matt terry has a single out i heard. ( i really will lob my crisps at the TV if Sobby wins, i will sulk for weeks)

Rafflesway · 07/11/2017 09:38

Nah, Sobby won’t win for sure!

She blew it with the public with her dramatics at Boot Camp! 😈

Just hate the way Simon obviously has a “Downer” on J and J! Angry
(If he gives them the naff Club Tropicana I shall be throwing my popcorn st the screen along with your crisps 80’s.). Jack could really sing something like Praying for Time!

Sobby will probably get “Don’t let the sun go down on me” - obvious big powerful ballad! She will bore us all to death as usual. Sam will definitely get “Faith” and will be dreadful as always. God knows what S and C will get 🤔. Hopefully something that will send them back to Ireland! (4 acts going this week apparently. Hoping it is Sobby, Sam, S and C and still thinking about the other one but probably Matt for me.)

4 acts going?? See- the new format is rushed as well.
I'm hoping the GPB have seen through Sobby. I also hope they see the entertainment potential in J and J, and don't see them as cheesy. I've a feeling Simon will sabotage them in some way - he has form for that, when he clearly favours another act. Although really, they might do better if they don't win - I just don't want them to leave this early. Spencer, Tracey, the Brother whose name I have already forgotten- they be forgotten very soon.

And see, I've already totally forgotten Talia Grin

Oh, I'm sure someone will do 'Don't let the sun..' even though it's a cover. That always happens when they pick a specific artist - makes you wonder why they bother with the theme Grin.

Another one will be one of my most hated George songs (that is much loved on these shows, and I know lots of people like it)- 'I can't make you love me'. Again- it's a cover. It's up there with anything by Whitney and J-Hud's version of 'And I'm telling you' for most over done song on a reality singing show. IMO. Grin.

I agree Raahh!

Simon will give J and J Club Tropicana - or Wham Rap - and then accuse them of being cheesy and not current. Angry

J and j doing praying for time or soul free would be good.
I bet they get the cheesey hit though .. As others said, si has it in for them and will stitch them up.
George had such a wonderful soulful voice , i am dreading this lot doing any of hits hits. I think he would smile though and s,end encourgement.
He had a big heart.

Raahh · 07/11/2017 18:46

I loved George's voice. And I must admit, one of my most favourite Wham! songs (for a bit of cheese) is 'Last Christmas' Grin so, early or not, i would be happy if some one did that.

'Listen Without Prejudice ...' has just been re-issued. One of my favourites off that, isn't actually one of 'his' it's Stevie Wonder's , but George's version of 'They won't go when I go' is wonderful. Not fussy, just beautiful.

I'm so glad Tracey has gone. I could not have coped with her terrible voice doing a fake Winehouse shouty version of a GM classic. So, we have been spared that at least.

But I am very worried that Simon will stitch up J and J. Vocally, they wipe the floor with Sean and Conor- yet he seems to think they are great. Hmm.

Listen is one of my favouite albums ever. The production is great and his voice soars. He always sung covers really well too.
I never met him ( of course) but he really seemed one of the good guys. I played listen last boxing day and shed a tear for another lost musical talent. I m not normally one to get upset over people i never knew or met. I suppose he just reminded me of the good times in my own life!

Massive George Michael fan here. I love that they are honouring George, but not really looking forward to anyone else singing his songs. Praying that Sobby goes too- have no idea why the public love her so much, we can't stand her in our house.
