I'm late to tonight's Strictly party, sorry ladies.

Considering it's the semi-final, I thought some of the marks have been quite low.

Do we reckon it will be Mollie to go?

Hiya pix poor old Claudia 'I was robbed' Fragapane got the rumba last year. She was much, much, much, better than Mollie. Definitely should be Mollie going this week. I like Joe he's good at everything. Alexandra is definitely the best overall dancer. Wait for the salsa it's good!

Rhubarb01 · 09/12/2017 19:53

Hi ilove did you enjoy the samba?

Ilovelblue · 09/12/2017 19:53

I want Debbie to win because of my "investment", but overall, I like Joe as I think he is rather cute, even though I have no money on him.

Separate subject, but who has snow today? We've had quite a bit here though it started to thaw this afternoon. Unfortunately, it's started to freeze again so will be treacherous tomorrow morning.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 09/12/2017 19:55

I meant the Salsa! I agree that Joe is the most likely overall winner. Fingers crossed for your investment.

Rhubarb01 · 09/12/2017 19:58

We had snow showers - just very frosty this morning. Too far south for proper snow.

I thought AJ and Mollie did a lovely romantic waltz. The judges are talking her down because they've decided she must go. I'd think it unfair if anyone else was voted off apart from possibly Gemma but overall she has been better.

pixieg1rl · 09/12/2017 19:59

Whoa, I want Katya’s core muscles. That Argentine tango was amazing

Ilovelblue · 09/12/2017 20:12

Debbie is amazing for her age! Lovely dress too.

Thanks Rhu yes great relief and news. Fairly quiet
Birthday with friends and family, luckily in view of what had happened nothing big had been planned. Just nice meals and company
Now I have to get my head back into gear for Christmas 🎄

Magi84 · 10/12/2017 11:12

Well here in Hertfordshire we've woken up today to a really thick blanket of snow. We're pretty lucky usually and escape a lot so definitely not complaining as I know how bad it has been and can be further north.

Of course as it is Sunday morning it all looks delightful and a bit like a Christmas card with kids already out enjoying it creating snowmen etc. I can imagine a totally different aspect tomorrow morning!

Flowerfan · 10/12/2017 14:18

I thought it was going to miss us but it has now started snowing. It looks very wet but if it freezes tonight it will be lethal. Well it would have been unusual for us here in Yorkshire to miss it when it’s snowing in Canary Wharf where DD lives. Panic already setting in there!!!❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️🎄🦌🎄🦌🎄☃️☃️

Ilovelblue · 13/12/2017 22:27

Evening all. Heavy rain here tonight which will hopefully wash all the snow and ice away. My road was awful with compacted snow which then froze and was treacherous on Monday morning.

Some great ff at the momennt. I can hardly keep up with the reviews! I loved the one from TwiceKnightley, especially when she uploaded several chapters at once. I was very restrained and rationed myself to a couple of chapters at a time.

Got four Christmas meals this week! At least it means not much washing up each day.

Is everyone preparing for Christmas?

OP posts:
Magi84 · 14/12/2017 06:53

Morning all. Yes Ilove lots of rain here too which thankfully washed away the snow.

Yes the fanfiction has been really coming thick and fast lately and I really think all the writers are fab. I haven't stopped laughing about the Christmas One Shot as it is so cleverly done.

See BA is in the States now and obviously unwinding from his OG filming. Wonder what lies ahead for him now in the way of TV roles.

Flowerfan · 14/12/2017 07:25

Morning everyone
It has been very quiet this week Christmas and weather taking up time for us all.
I saw BA is in New York, hopefully he will be back here for promotion of OG and will get something new here. I do seem to remember him saying in an interview in the past he would like to get work over there but I hope he doesn’t desert us totally.

I have a feeling there will not be any more OG but hope I am wrong. Some sort of offshoot would be good (wishful thinking) perhaps!!
Ff keeping me happy at the moment there really are some great stories to keep our obsession going and a relax from Christmas preparations.
Snow seems to have gone but a bit icy here still, makes it easier to get about though as the traffic alone at this time of year is a nightmare.
Won’t be long until Christmas now can’t believe how fast the time is going 🎄🎄😊

pixieg1rl · 14/12/2017 13:03

Limping through to Christmas now, I've just about got over my flu, son has come down with norovirus so working when I can around disinfecting everything and keeping him entertained.

Did manage to get a watch of the original episode 5 last night as I was on vomit watch. Still think the after effects of Molly's tour experience could have been fleshed out to another episode. I would love to know what TG had planned for a series 2 with Lacey in it.

Magi84 · 14/12/2017 13:17

Sorry to hear your little lad is poorly, that norovirus is a right pain.

I totally agree that there really should have been one more episode in the first series of OG and get the feeling it was a quick shuffle round for some reason that that didn't come about. The little bit after the credits with Molly coming back to him was surely created with some sort of follow-on in mind. We'll never know but I do think TG visualised something that would keep Molly Dawes going.

eejittwo · 14/12/2017 16:17

“The studio would script a drama to be performed live and – at certain points in the plot – there would be forks, where it could go in different directions, scripted or improvised. We’ve had it to some extent in reality TV formats, where the audience might decide whether someone turns left or right in a maze. But the idea of incorporating that technology into quality TV drama is very exciting.”

www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/dec/13/choose-your-own-adventure-how-tech-is-changing-tv

If only Tony Grounds had thought of that, before he killed off Elvis (or any of the other wrong decisions he made in the opinion of OG fans).

Okay, so most of it would have had to be pre-filmed, but it could have worked. Why did Omar's IED have to succeed? Surely some IEDs must be duds. So, the episode ends with Omar about to plunge the trigger, and the audience gets to decide what happens next. Thee production team has a whole week to edit the final episode on the basis of the audience decision.

Sorted!

Magi84 · 14/12/2017 16:28

Love it eejit Sorted is the word. What a brilliant idea. To think we could all have our own choice of ending in each series.

kazzaD66 · 14/12/2017 22:49

Doesn't sound too good in the pixie household, hope everyone gets well soon pix. I hear what you say about what TG's plans may have been for a second series with Molly. I seem to remember reading that LT said at the end of S2 that she needed to get together with TG and BA to see what they could come up with, but that may be a complete fabrication! If LT was in S2, I'm not sure we'd have seen much of CJ, given they wouldn't be able to be posted together. It is called Our Girl, not Our Hunky Stud Muffin Lad, after all! It would be nice if Molly made a Skype appearance or greeted CJ as he arrived back at Brize NorhunNorton Grin in one of the future eps, but as they've now finished filming, it obviously won't happen Sad
Btw, has BA fallen out with his family? After 8 months on the other side of the world, you'd think he'd be back in Blighty? Or has he decided that he's been out of the country for so long, he may as well try for non-residency for tax reasons this year?!

kazzaD66 · 14/12/2017 22:52

LT spoke at end of S1, not 2, otherwise it doesn't make sense Confused

Ilovelblue · 14/12/2017 23:11

Evening all. Hope you are surviving pixie. I've had that norovirus once. It totally wiped me out so I know what you're going through.

I agree with you about stretching S1 out for an extra episode but on the positive side, we might not have had so much brilliant ff if there had been that extra episode (and of course you are one of the great contributors).

kazza agree with you that if LT had signed up for S2, I think BA's role as CJ would have been much diminished.

Like the idea of him becoming a tax exile, haha.

I saw the photo of him in New York - does he ever take that stupid baseball cap off? It does him no favours at all.

OP posts:
Flowerfan · 15/12/2017 08:24

Good morning
I agree ilove about the cap doesn’t he realise we like to see his curls!! Especially when he’s inside. Perhaps he will be back here for Christmas.
I hope the children pixie and magi are recovered and no one else gets the bugs
Hope you’ve enjoyed your dining out ilove it sounded like a busy week
Not long to go now can’t make my mind up whether I am in control or not😏🎄🎄🦌🦌

Ilovelblue · 15/12/2017 22:25

Rhu not sure if you are thinking of a Strictly watchalong for the final on Saturday but I probably won't be able to do it with you. My friend is coming over for tea (on our knees, round the fire watching the dancing) and will wonder what on earth I am doing if I'm typing on here all the time. I'll have to get my laptop out for the voting but can't really do much more, sorry.

Financially, we want Debbie to win but personally, I would like Gemma to win (a lesser financial gain). I do quite like Joe however, even though we have no money on him. Not really keen on Alexandra if I am honest.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 16/12/2017 18:05

No worries Ilove. Good luck with your investment. I have no idea how it will go apart from the fact that Joe has never been in the dance off which might be an indicator of the level of his support. I think it's possible for Debbie to win if she really pulls it out of the bag. At least you've still got two contenders in the ring, not bad going. I think I will just sit back and enjoy tonight - or lurk on the SCD thread if I want to hear what others are saying.

Sorry, not around much this week. I have been writing or I should say attempting/forcing myself to write as well as trying to do Christmas stuff unsuccessfully - we do at least have a tree up in our house now, done yesterday, but still have some other decorations to put up. I haven't written a single Christmas card but intend to do so tomorrow and post the lot on Monday - plenty of time! - and I'm still ordering stuff from Amazon. I have bought presents for all the extended family though, so that's something! Oh and I need to do the weekly shop which even on a Sunday will necessitate getting there for when it opens to nab a parking space - last week someone was waiting to grab mine from me by about 11 am. Madness!

Enjoy the dancing folks!
