Jonnie and Oti - FOXTROTTING CLAXON - It was OK. Oti was very good as usual.

pixieg1rl · 11/11/2017 19:56

I think Mollie and Ruth in the dance off.

Rhubarb01 · 11/11/2017 19:57

Debbie and Giovanni - setting her up for top of the leader board again as she goes last this week. However it's a salsa - this might be dodgy!

Rhubarb01 · 11/11/2017 20:00

It was of course very, very good but not sure if it will top the scores.

OK bottom two for me this week will probably be Mollie and Jonnie - maybe not. That could be another interesting choice.

OK thanks for humouring me folks. I promise to return to OG talk now and will go away and do my homework for tomorrow.

Rhubarb01 · 11/11/2017 20:01

Hiya pix missed you just there. I'd forgotten about Ruth - by rights she should be at the bottom but will the public vote for Anton?

kazzaD66 · 11/11/2017 20:22

Would think that Ruth and Anton will be saved by public votes. DO probably Mollie and Johnnie?

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2017 21:38

Sorry ladies, I missed out tonight.

Been out all day with a friend for lunch, shopping etc and it was heaving so I am afraid I was quite fed up by the end and it was a long drive home (55 miles). My friend is the one I went to Bailbrook House with and I was looking forward to a debrief on the latest OG episode (she is a real telly addict anyway) but I decided to wait for her to mention it first and she didn't! I happened to show her the screensaver on my phone at lunchtime which was of Elvis but apart from raised eyebrows, there was no reaction at all. Of course, she has no idea exactly to what degree I am invested in OG which is fortunate probably.

Watching the Remembrance Festival on BBC1 and have already cried twice.

Rhu talking of crying, I have managed to listen to Elvis' death letter twice now without crying but there has had to be a great deal of deep breathing to get through it and I have shut my eyes when they are having the Elvis tattoo done. We have to stop tomorrow when we see Georgie with the letter in her hand, or I do anyway.

Well, I've done my duty and rewatched. Was ok until the letter although I get a lump in my throat when Georgie shows him the ring and he's so pleased, but overall was not as bad as the first time and I think I'll manage tomorrow with just a couple of dabs of my eyes. I think MK handled all the emotional scenes very well because I was pretty much doing the same myself the first time around.

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2017 22:08

Maybe what we should do Rhu to keep us going until the next set of episodes is to rewatch series 1 - and it would give the newcomers amongst us a chance to air their views. Maybe after Christmas?

I'd love to do series 1 again ilove. I imagine we'll see quite a difference between the CJ of that series and the rather lost, doubting and despondent figure of this one. It was really obvious by the end how much it had all got to him. Lovely to see him and Molly making eyes at each other again though!

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2017 22:18

Well, if others are interested as well - when do you want to do it? It will help to keep the momentum going.

It would be helpful to know when Series 3 Part 2 starts. If it's not until February or so then the start of January would be a good idea as we'll have five weeks in the run up. If it's earlier eg the start of January than we might need to attempt it earlier.

kazzaD66 · 11/11/2017 22:31

Completely left field....but just turned on tv to see the end of the Remembrance Service and seen Lesley Garrett a couple of times singing as though she's in the Pirates of Penzance! Has that woman got no decorum? She does know where she is and why? Even DH commented on it.

Rhubarb01 · 11/11/2017 22:37

What was she singing Kazza? I think she has quite a jaunty operatic singing style if you know what I mean. I saw her in The Sound of Music at the London Palladium donkey's years ago. We were sitting near the front and she was very loud!

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2017 22:38

kazza there was another singer on there earlier and I think it was Emeli Sande - she made me almost want to slash my wrists. I went out to make a drink, it was so depressing.

kazzaD66 · 11/11/2017 22:42

rhu I think it was just a couple of hymns. Everyone else, including Alfie Boe next to her, looked suitable solemn but she looked suitably refreshed and as jaunty as they come Hmm

Flowerfan · 11/11/2017 22:51

Well I’ve just watched the Remembrance service and it was good practice for tomorrow night quiet a few tissues used. Enjoyed it though, I have watched it for more years than I care to remember my dad and father in law both served in 2nd world war but came home to us. We were the lucky ones 🍀

Flowerfan · 11/11/2017 22:57

I agree Kazza about Lesley Garret I also wondered if she thought she was still on the stage. Certainly giving it her all.

Rhubarb01 · 12/11/2017 16:29

Afternoon, will be ready and in position at the TV rendez-vous at 21.00 hours for Episode 4 watchalong.

I have to confess now that I bought the Nepal Tour DVD - it was a last minute decision on Friday as I was ordering some other stuff from Amazon and I've got all the others so I decided to add it to the collection. It's released tomorrow but it turned up today, so I got it out to have a look and discovered amongst its other features it has a really funny set of outtakes which have given me a good laugh - plenty of CJ, Elvis and Georgie not to mention a few others - remember that goat scene? Well even that has a funny moment!

Flowerfan · 12/11/2017 16:50

Hi,
HOPEFULLY I will be there tonight DH not too good so not sure if he wii be going out! He doesn't know quite how bad the OG obsession is.
I got the DVD today as well but haven't had time to watch it yet, something to look forward to. Hope I'll be with you tonight.

kazzaD66 · 12/11/2017 16:53

Hhmm, wasn't even contemplating buying the dvd but CJ outtakes might just sell it to me rhu if you think it's worth it.
I'm guessing BA had a good birthday today - out in Malaysia, friends and colleagues to celebrate with and only 32 years old...what's not to enjoy Smile

Rhubarb01 · 12/11/2017 17:18

I enjoyed it kazza but I must admit it's only about 5 minutes long, so not sure if you would reckon it's worth the price. There's one short deleted scene - two section in the mess in Kabul - and a gallery of photos on and off the set.

Ilovelblue · 12/11/2017 18:27

Thanks for the tip Rhu. I wasn't going to bother as I bought the last series and only watched it once because I kept each of the recordings and find that easier to use when we are doing watchalongs (or if there's nothing on telly and I fancy a rewatch on my own). I also thought it was about £18 but must have got that wrong as I have just purchased it from HMV for £12.95 with free postage so I am quite happy about that. Curious to see "Goatwatch"!

Had a rather sad afternoon. Remember I said I've been keeping an eye on my elderly neighbour and his daughters don't seem to be doing anywhere near enough for him even though they live locally? He's been quite ill I've thought all week and seems to have been sleeping almost all day and I've been bobbing round with tea, toast, soup, yoghurt and ice cream to keep him going as he's been sick several times and ended up having the doctor. I called in at lunchtime and I texted his daughter to say I thought she should come round. About 30 mins later, an ambulance turned up and he has now gone to hospital. The daughter said "I'm just popping up to the hospital to get him checked out". My guess is he won't be coming home tonight. It's coming up to the anniversary of when my Dad died - you can't help but look back. I need OG to cheer me up! Oh, maybe not episode 4 though!

Sorry can’t make it but looking forward to reading your comments 😏

Ilovelblue · 12/11/2017 20:53

I doubt it's going to be as lighthearted as our usual commentaries Flower.
