I got quite emotional last night about the scenes with Liam (Gatsby) and his mum at the football ground. My dad died 16 years ago and I still miss him.
I thought Bobby was funny, Gemma is not genuine. Lauren seems to think she is something really special. I just don't trust Jon, haven't read anything about him outside TOWIE but he just seems dodgy. We seem to be seeing a softer side to Tommy, he doesn't seem to be blowing up so much.I like Mario in it now, I think his friendship with Chloe S seems sweet.
I enjoyed Wednesdays episode.

I could only find Arg in a dress 👗 not a skirt but unfortunately you can still glimpse his gnashers - this is what I do at 3am when I have insomnia- which makes me a dead ringer for knackered Pete minus the beard, for now🧔.

I just feel TOWIE is one of those shows that sets a bad example for people watching it especially young girls.

Cosmetic surgery is high up on their to do list which will make younger generations think that they need to have surgery to be pretty.

The way the men treat them and the way the women on that show accepts it is not healthy when as mothers we are trying to raise our daughters to not accept such behaviour towards them. If the guys think it is acceptable to call their gf's slags etc and to cheat on them and laugh about it on national tv then what goes on behind closed doors.

PS had a look at Pete's instagram page "Phwoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar" now that is one hot tamale.

Talking of Pete really glad he ended it with MM she if anything is a poster girl for what a woman should not be like the way she shouted at him etc and the poor guy just stood there and fought her battles even knowing she was wrong.

I agree they could definately portrey more respectful relationships, Georgia and Tommy seem to be the only ones in a decent relationship who treat each other well.
Also the females apart from Chloe Sims all seem to put up with so much crap before they split up. The miserable relationships go on for ages its ridiculous.
I think also they should have a ban on plastic surgery they are ruining their faces.

I for one am glad I'm auld and knackered. If I'd have had to conform to the Towie norm looks wise, I'd have failed miserably. We just tried to look our best.

Granted it was courtesy of Heather Shimmer and Iced Champink and pancake but we still looked human in the 80s. Just.

The way the lads speak about the lasses is dire. The only thing that is worse is that the girls accept it.

I dread the Towie 'where are they now' programmes in about 20 years time. It will be like looking at a row of melted candles.

I do agree that the misogyny is awful. But also think the show would be awful if it was just happy lovey couples being all lovey and happy < boak

Watching Yas and Lockie in this last one she did seem very hard work and I can see why he gets frustrated (no excuse for the aggression and misogyny though).

I like seeing relationship issues like this as I recognise it from my relationships when I was say 16-23ish. I like seeing via a mirror why that behaviour’s unfair and unreasonable/ unacceptable.

I also think shows like this do need divisive/ extreme characters don’t they... e.g. Myles is a scumbag... Amber Turner is horrid... Jon is INSANE!... Chloe Sims is opinionated etc

I love when you get proper genuine situations where you can love/ hate/ whatever a character, think that’s why contrivances like Arg/ Gemma fall so flat

I do dislike the fixation on surgery, especially so young, is disturbing. But I think that's why we watch because it's so unnecessary. I don't think most people that age do it but watch it, in a way to put them off. So much off it is either off-putting or goes wrong.

@beaver, the way some of the women act towards their boyfriends is pretty awful too! So many of them are super controlling (ahem YAS), "you can't go out without me", "I have loooaaads of insecurities don't leave me", "why were you talking to other females" jeeeeeesus.

The only remotely healthy relationship on the show is Tommy and Georgia, but even then in some interview she said she made rules for him and that he had to ask her permission before going on a night out....and that he wasn't allowed to go to afterparties without her....so hardly that healthy really. I've never seen them do anything separately!

This show basically normalises men cheating and shouting and being disrespectful, and women being controlling and jealous and needy.

(having said that, it's still a bloody great show!)

I question my judgement watching this mince sometimes but I have taken a deep dislike to Miles. I'm glad Jon gave him a telling. Miles strutted about like a victorious cock thinking he'd won. Too ruddy thick to realise he was only left standing because Jon had been dragged away. He was lucky that his seven colours remained inside his body.

Part of me thinks the reason that things escalate from 0 to 100 is because a lot of them literally don't have the vocabulary to articulate themselves in a calm, measured way. They're always banging on about 'loyalty' and 'being civil' and 'having murders' etc. etc. It's so sort of binary. But makes for cracking TV...
