Greys Anatomy...Code black - Did anyone watch it?

I thought I recognised the voice of the wife of the man who had the unexploded shell inside him.

Was it the woman from Desperate Housewives? (the crazy woman with the gun in the supermarket)/The sister from Rosanne?

Of course, it didn't look like her, she looked about 2 stone heavier

I find GA too annoying. DH has been watching it whilst I MN.

Its the Merith woman that irritates me... her face doesn't move or express anything, but her lips are all ducks bill like.

I want to slap her too much.

luckylady74 · 08/04/2007 23:10

i think you're right it was her - i love GA it ratchets up the tension nicely, there's alot of unrequited love and it it's perfect sunday night uncomplicated stuff - and much more slick than bloody casuality!

tribpot · 08/04/2007 23:13

I recognised her from The West Wing - Toby's lawyer? (I didn't recognise her until I read this post)

Weird double ep, it was like ER on speed. How much tragedy/tension do they really think they can jam into 2 episodes which aren't even the season finale? What's next, Meredith hosts an ad hoc meeting of the United Nations and brokers world peace?

Technical Q: is it possible not to push when in advanced labour?

margo1974 · 08/04/2007 23:14

Thank you, I'm not going mad!

They made her up really well.

I love GR, thought the episodes tonight were fantastic.

NuttyMuffins · 08/04/2007 23:17

GA even.

luckylady74 · 08/04/2007 23:19

stangely i have another answer - in labour with ds1 my mw said i could have had him a hour earlier if i'd actually pushed - i was just so overwhellmed by the intensity of the contractions and never had an urge to push - nor did i with the twins but thought i better have a go that time!

luckylady74 · 08/04/2007 23:21

mnet is so ace - noone i know in rl even registers that channel 5 exists. i was considering buying the next episodes online for 99p - but thought that might be going a bit far.

tribpot · 08/04/2007 23:22

Interesting. I thought 'SURELY that can't be true' but then of course you had no urge to push whereas she was apparently applying 'mind over matter' not to push. I was induced so rather different for me! Baby v cute although as ever on telly clearly not a newborn.

Couldn't work out why McDreamy showed up at the end, really. "Hello. You nearly died. Goodbye". I think she had that figured out already!

luckylady74 · 08/04/2007 23:28

i know what you mean about mcdreamy - i keep thinking they're being too mature about it - but i was pleased alex got over his nerves tonight!

tribpot · 08/04/2007 23:31

But why come round and then be all 'withholding' about it? (Loathe myself for talking about people on a telly prog as if they were real). The woman's just been blown up for feck's sake, give her a break. IMO.

margo1974 · 08/04/2007 23:33

Where is Mrs McDreamy tonight?

OP posts:
luckylady74 · 08/04/2007 23:42

stop loathing yourself tribpot and instead luxuriate in the freedom to chat about this - and yes i thought don't close the door tosser! we can be intellectual in rl. it's what i miss about watching tv as a student - having friends that agreed with me about dawson's creek as well as analysing poetry in the next breath. i belong to a book group but we have a break away magazine group too where we discuss oscar dresses and britney's hair without sneering!

margo1974 · 09/04/2007 21:48

Where ARE you McDreamy ?

I want to discuss GA with you?

I just discovered Grey's Anatomy, I love it as much as i loved Dawson's Creek and I don't care who knows it . I am only miffed that Virgin Media is so crap it randomly has episodes on its Virgin Central channel then they disappear, then episodes 8 and 9 come back but where is 10-18? I'm still on series 1, got hooked whilst ironing a few weeks back.

Someone tell me where I can watch series 1? I'll bring popcorn and do your ironing if I can watch it at yours!

margo1974 · 09/04/2007 21:55

Where do you live kbear?

I haven't got the series but I'd buy it and let you watch it if you were to do my ironing!

Oh yay, a MN chat I can join in.

So did the 2 bomb disposal people blow up?...no mention of them at all (apart from the 'red mist' all over Meredith in the shower. I thought there was a bit of sexual tension going on between Meredith and head bomb disposal chap over the operating table at the end, oh goody I thought a love rival for McDreamy, and then he blew up...I think.

And oh yes tribpot I was shouting at the telly 'You can't just decide not to push' its like trying not to vomit if you've got gastric flu.

Oh I love this show...such silly stry lines with such beautiful people.

kathryn77 · 09/04/2007 21:59

I love GA, just tried to download the next two but am gutted as after 10 mins, the sound goes so cannot watch any more..
looks good next week.

i cannot believe they did not kill off a main charater with code black - we were convinced someone would die! dh thought it would be burke.. i hoped not as like that story with christina!

willywonkasEgghunt · 09/04/2007 22:00

Between putting dd to bed and making tea, I didn't get to see much but did catch enough to love the bit where McDreamy came out of the lift saying "where is she? where is she?" only to be guided towards dw... It's what this type of programme seems to do best and I'm a sucker for it

luckylady74 · 09/04/2007 22:03

now kbear - if you say you liked the oc too i might think we're leading parallel crappy us tv lives!

kathryn77 · 09/04/2007 22:06

i never watched the oc, but loved dawsons creek.. do miss it but think ga is almost better

tribpot · 09/04/2007 22:08

Yes, poor old bomb disposal dudes were a bit disposable, weren't they? Glad I'm not alone in feeling 'deciding' not to push may not be an option, except to give George a chance to flex his masculinity for us all to see.

I thought the episode was let down by the weird McDreamy scene at the end, yes obviously the "where is she?" bit with the dramatic irony, very nice, but why did he come to her house? (And then try and leave three times).

Flumpytina · 09/04/2007 22:15

Dear old George, I think he's my fav character. Loved the opening 'fantasy' shower scene. What was with him climbing behind Bailey to 'help' with her pushing...she just shuffled forward and made a space for him like that's how it always happens (maybe it was in her birth plan). And the mirror on the ceiling...never seen one of them before.

Oh they keep on cranking up the will they/wont they with Meredith/Mcdreamy....the tension is almost unbearable. That cuddle in the linen cupboard last week was oooohhhhhhh JUST SNOG HERtastic.

luckylady74 · 09/04/2007 22:24

i actually thought of mnet when bailey said 'don't look at my ..' and then said something which i thought sounded similar to fanjo! i really like george too - apparently in real life isaih washington [buerke?] was asked to leave the show if he didn't apologise for calling george a faggot - that was on an american idol thread.

Flumpytina · 09/04/2007 22:28

Yes it did sound remarkably like fanjo didn't it...I didn't quite hear it as I was thinking what a good idea the mirror on the ceiling was!
