Still going strong and waiting out for Series 3.

As much as I have the hots for Elvis Rhu, I would not want to do my ablutions in his mucky water! Hahahaha.

I was very tempted for a moment to construct a sentence that included the words, Elvis, Mucky and Water but then I felt the shadow of woof and was shamed into silence.

In general I would, however, tend to agree that one would prefer to conduct one's own ablutions in clean water. Going all practical now but what were the women supposed to do? We had all these discussions about Molly at the FOB didn't we.

Side issue too but I noticed when they were in the barracks in Kabul that there was a blanket strung up to divide the women's and men's sections.

Well, just watched Ep 3 and it was certainly 100% better than the previous 2 eps and probably the whole of Series 2 aswell. Much more CJ , much more 2 Section, with some brilliant banter, great to see Captain Azizi again (even allowing for what he did altho he obviously kept trying to warn CJ) and I even warmed a bit to Elvis, who certainly looks a lot better with a sharp haircut . Better music aswell - when CJ took the call at the end re no helicopter, I liked that they played a bit of the refrain from Series 1. I was even warming to Maisie!

I don't know if it was because TG didn't write this Ep (altho probably not), or because it was a different director this time or simply because it focused on the soldiers and the action, which they did so brilliantly in Series 1, but I wish the last 2 eps had been this good. Fingers crossed for the next 8!
Talking of Fingers, at least the fact that he was thinking of going for SF in the last series was touched on here. He's obviously also seeing Georgie's sister! Loved there was a lot more of him and Brains.
Thought CJ might have mentioned Molly to Azizi, as he knew her. Would really like a quick nod to her at the very least

Looking forward to next week's Ep. Did I mention that I loved seeing more CJ?

Currently watching Tears for Fears in concert on the BBC red button. I absolutely loved them in the 80's, one of the soundtracks to my youth and much underated imo

Azizi was between the biker and James all the time (intentional?). I think the biker shot Azizi, because it was clear that he had been talking to James before. He got rid of him because he couldn't be trusted. Roadside execution. :-(

Is it just me, or did the love story between Capt James and Molly knock spots off what is going on with Georgie and Elvis? Bring back Lacey Turner and steer the storyline back to the first series please!!!

Shirl - you have expressed my thoughts exactly. Very nostalgic for series 1 but don't hold out much hope of Molly coming back. LT seems too involved with EE.

shirl and magi you're both right. Elvis and Georgie are not a patch on CJ and Molly, never have been, never will be. BA and LT just had fantastic chemistry. LT will never come back because she wants to do EE, but it would be great if she indulged us all by carving out a day from her schedule to record a cameo, even if it was just a loving and flirty Skype call with CJ Suffice to say, I'm not holding my breath!

Kazza - I've thought the same thing often. Every time LT disappears from a few episodes of EE I hope (pray even) that she is off doing a quick Skype to CJ. How sad am I??

Oh goodness how often I have wished for just a little glimpse of Molly.

I suppose there is still time in the next 8 episodes for her to briefly appear and we have been told there will be more on their relationship at a later date even if it is only a few mentions. I found it odd that not a word was said to Elvis or even to Azizi. I hope that is not an indicator that all is not as it should be. I'm sure from the way he seemed frustrated at no phone signal in Nepal that he does feel a need to call someone at home. Sadly, however, I don't think there can ever be a revisit of the CJ and Molly story although assuming they are still together - I really hope so - it would seem likely that CJ will have quite a lot of soul searching to do over the mission in Afghan and its not the first time!

I suppose, as we often discussed in the past, there was just something a bit magical about the unlikely relationship that developed between Molly and CJ and they played it so well . We all wanted to believe and we did. As much as Elvis and Georgie make a handsome couple, and I don't mind at all lots of gratuitous scenes with Elvis washing in mucky water, I suppose they seem a more logical couple. It's less of a surprise that they are/aren't/are together. Two gorgeous looking people thrown together in dangerous situations - you kind of expect it.

Rhubarb - Yes I too wondered about no mention of Molly between CJ and Azizi, then I consoled myself with the thought that of course he would probably not have connected that there was anything between the Captain and the medic. Clutch at all these straws as to why no mention of Molly this time. Mind you series 2 didn't have such a serious tone as this series even with Georgie being taken hostage. Probably because we had so much of the weddings that didn't happen, so talking about Molly helped to sort out the connection between CJ and Elvis etc.

Certain great series for giving us all something to dissect.

Well I've been fangirling on Twitter Got a like and reply from Jackson (jack parry jones) a like from Captain Azizi and a like from Jon Wright (director) It's like the modern version of collecting autographs!

I'm quite sad that next Tuesdays episode will be the last in the mini series until the new year. I have a sinking feeling about what will happen but I'm hoping they do tie up a few loose ends like at the end of S1.

Talking of S1, I was watching it while folding laundry. I had forgotten about the final scenes in Bath, which is on my doorstep. I'm wondering how Captain James made it all the way into the centre with his cast on his leg? It's quite a walk from the Royal Crescent! I even paused the DVD to chuckle at the solicitors letter re the decree absolute- Pearsalls was a local solicitor I remember from work.

I would LOVE a cameo from Molly, maybe even a mention of Sam. Elvis hasn't mentioned Laura either though. Do the scriptwriters think OG obsessive like me forget?!

The restaurant scenes in the final episode of series 1 showed just what chemistry BA and LT had and how much Molly has been missed in the following series. It has had an effect on BA's character as he has not been able to show the full range of acting skills that the first storyline allowed. I so used to look forward to Sunday night when series 1 was aired. Now I watch the current episodes on catch-up if there's nothing else on because I keep comparing it all the time!

Rhu I agree wholeheartedly with your post above. I don’t like EE but record it just to run it through for to see if LT is still in it. When she disappears for a while I keep my fingers crossed she may be doing something for OG just like magi. I am pleased to find I am not the only one totally obsessed with this. Got to very OAP status to join my first fan club!!!🤦‍♀️

Hi everyone . Watched ep 3 with DD, she'd all but given up after eps 1 and 2, then found out CJ was in much evidence . Much better episode more in tune with S1. For us the chemistry between MD and CJ is what made the series so popular. Did I read somewhere in an interview that Molly gets mentioned in later episodes?

Holla not sure about where to see it online but there are certainly lots of YouTube clips of the best CJ and Molly scenes. I've just looked on eBay and there's a DVD of the first series on for £3.50 at the moment (plus others slightly more expensive)..

Series 1 was very different to this current one though this one is much better than Series 2.

wibbly that restaurant scene was one I played over and over again at the time! I even sat at the same table (and supposedly in the same chair) that CJ had sat in at Bailbrook House. It still gives me the giggles even now as the friend I went with (who is a fan of sorts of OG but not on the same level as posters on here) thought it was complete coincidence. Little did she know that Nickel who posts on here had organised it for me. How I managed to keep that one to myself, I have no idea!

TRish any idea when you are likely to get to see this series in NZ? How long after the previous series had been screened in the UK did you get to see them?
