Welcome back all.

All a load of silly billies if you ask me! Tom will be much better off now

MusicToMyEars800 · 03/10/2017 21:59

I feel deflated at the end of that!

PoppyPopcorn · 03/10/2017 21:59

What a load of tripe. Tim is better off without the pair of them.

tilligan · 03/10/2017 21:59

He's not coming back, hopefully nor is the programme

whyhastherumgone · 03/10/2017 21:59

Someone should check in with Anna, if Tom's got the right idea he will have headed off to her

2bluestars · 03/10/2017 21:59

Urrggghhh

BluePheasant · 03/10/2017 21:59

They had it it coming. But awful for Tom, a boy who should have had a bright future, completely screwed up by his parents. Logical conclusion I guess.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 03/10/2017 21:59

Why. I agree. They don't deserved to have Tom. I can say that because this isn't real.

squoosh · 03/10/2017 21:59

It was as though they didn't know what direction to take this series in. It was floundering between kitchen sink drama/thriller/revenge caper/ childhood misery memoir. None of it seemed to flow.

User843022 · 03/10/2017 22:00

'What should you have done? You shouldn't have been such shite parents.'
Exactly. Urgh and a final whispery lecture to the camera. What a bag of shite.

cheesydoesit · 03/10/2017 22:00

At least it wasn't a pregnancy test cliffhanger. Oh God, Our Girl is back too.

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 22:00

Just had to Google the fourth wall!

Figgygal · 03/10/2017 22:00

Gah why did I waste all that time watching that bollocks

GreggsSausageRolls · 03/10/2017 22:00

Mega cringe at the end. Hopefully the BBC go into social media now to see what people thought about that crock of shit series.

Goshthatwentwell · 03/10/2017 22:01

An hour I'm never getting back.

Thank goodness Tom left otherwise we'd still be deciding ( wishing they'd bloody hurry up ) which one was going to kill themselves first.

Toss

The80sweregreat · 03/10/2017 22:01

Lost interest, started mumsnetting.
Did simon die? Where is Tom ?

Missushb · 03/10/2017 22:01

I did think the actor who played Simon was very good. Such a strange episode though

whyhastherumgone · 03/10/2017 22:01

I cannot believe I just wasted an hour on that.

So we're supposed to feel sorry for them now it's taken them this long to realise that actually, instead of winning one over on each other this whole time they have been royally fucking up their son?

Give me strength. Would have been better to finish it the episode Kate moved out and had Tom and Gemma driving away after that.

MusicToMyEars800 · 03/10/2017 22:01

So series 3 Gemma and Simon will reunite whilst looking for Tom, They will become close again and put aside everything to be 'better parents' for him... That will really tip the poor boy over the edge!

showergel1 · 03/10/2017 22:02

Should have had more courage and killed him off. Definitely thought that's where it was heading.
For such a fantastic first series this was sn utter shambles. Nonsensical.

whyhastherumgone · 03/10/2017 22:03

I think the ending we all came up with on an earlier thread where Kate and Gemma team up to drown Simon in the swimming pool would have been much better writing tbh

MusicToMyEars800 · 03/10/2017 22:03

80's Tom ran away, Simon is very much alive and Him and Gemma are wallowing more than ever!
You honestly haven't missed anything.

squoosh · 03/10/2017 22:03

Last week's episode had a good bit of pace and then this week.......splat.

User843022 · 03/10/2017 22:03

Is the wet teacher still tucked up at her house?

southeastdweller · 03/10/2017 22:04

Just like Liar on ITV1 and a lot of other 9pm primetime TV dramas, this all went to shit. The Americans do this kind of thing so much better - more believable, more nuanced and more gripping.
