Don't like the Rita storyline, it's as if they are trying to tick boxes - "Ooh, what haven't we done? How about dementia?"

It's a brain tumor, apparently. Rita's in for a crap Christmas and possibly a non-existent New Year.

Didn't one of Rita's husbands (surname Sullivan I think) die of a brain tumour? He left her all his money and there was a storyline with his children wanting to contest the will? Rita was considered a rich widow - hence Alan Bradley's (Jenny's dad) interest in Rita?

Oh, so all Rita has to do is sulk at Roy's flat for a couple of months then she'll be as right as rain ? Worked for Ken didn't it.

In fact, where is Ken these days ? No tearing hurry to see him in a scene. His overacting when he's attempting to be dramatic is just embarrassing. Other than that he's just being smug. So, where's the acting ?

Rita's relationship with Alan was before she married Ted Sullivan. Once she was widowed, Jenny came out of the woodwork looking for a handout to start a hairdressing business, which I think Rita gave her in the end.

Thanks Boys. Was Jenny wanting the handout the reason her and Rita lost touch? Does Norris own the Kabin or does Rita still have a share?

Norris owns the shop I think, that storyline was weird as well. I could never understand why Rita gave the shop to Norris and Emily signed her house over to Norris as well.

It's a bit daft doing a storyline like Rita's so soon after Emmerdale totally smashed Ashley's dementia one. Whatever they came up with is bound to be crap in comparison

I was wondering if Cathy was still staying at Yasmeen's. And, if so, why? She was renting out her house at one stage, so she could surely rent a flat,and still make a profit. It can't be much fun for a woman of her age living in someone else's spare room.

Cathy's housing and general life situation is odd. A few months ago she was on the verge of penury, begging for a job in the Kebab show..and yet she has a huge house in a leafy street, rental income from the same place, lived at Roys rent free for however long their relationship lasted and presumably has some money from her late husband.

easrie, and she got over her Compulsive hoarding pretty quickly too. So quickly that a house previously packed to bursting point, is now in rentable condition. Perhaps it is infectious as Gina seems to have caught the bug and will doubtlessly undergo a miracle cure.

Who in real life would want to relinquish living in your own home but perhaps the rental pays her debt.

Emily signed the house over to Norris so the bills and maintenance became his responsibility IIRC. He kept moaning about things so she said fine, your problem now.

I'm sure the corrie writers read the last thread on here where it was speculated Gandy was alive and Phelan had no time to kill him and cover it up.
