We could get rid of a few that way.

Except for the dreary Daniel and Denise stuff.

thewooster · 10/06/2017 11:21

I like Tim too, Lizzie. He's down to earth and makes me laugh. At first I thought there's now way he can marry Sally but they are good together.

I like Daniel, the young Ken Barlow and all his angst and think he could have some good storylines in the future especially if they keep Adam.

Eva's a good character but wish she would calm down on the wedding ring saga, it's a bit old fashioned.

Finally I did not want Nick to leave, I always thought he was quite a catch but everything always go wrong for him. Come back Nick!

eddiemairswife · 10/06/2017 11:32

Denise, the motor mechanic!

MusicToMyEars800 · 10/06/2017 11:39

I was hoping David and Shona were going to get together, so I'm hoping all is not lost with those 2. Good riddance to Nick, he was getting annoying.
I don't think it's the end of the Bethany storyline, from what I've read and seen. I like Sarah and Gary together I hope the writers don't mess them 2 up. Maria is so dreary, why is she even in the soap still?! Aidan needs his head testing, Eva is class even if her laugh is a bit crazy Grin It won't be long until she finds out, these things never stay hidden in soaps.

Maybe you should audition Grin You could be the love competition?

thenightsky · 10/06/2017 12:32

The Bethany and Peter scene with the cigarette creeped me out. Sad

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 10/06/2017 12:54

Yeah it was horrible.

MusicToMyEars800 · 10/06/2017 13:03

It was uncomfortable to watch, I hope that scummy paedophile cop Neil and Nathan get their comeuppance asap! it made me feel sick hearing Neil talking about his own daughters, when he went to visit Bethany.

ellenanora5 · 10/06/2017 13:10

It was awful thenightsky, poor girl is that messed up now that she can't think straight, it's heartbreaking really.

Denise and the campervan, for god sake, nonsense and of course Daniel overheard every word she said.

I presume Shona will let the cat out of the bag and tell David that Gail knew who she was along, that's when we'll she the return of bad boy David.

I like Ava, think she can be very funny, she's way to good for Aidan

eddiemairswife · 10/06/2017 13:35

Does anyone else think that too many dramatic events are crammed into each episode? There's no sense of life carrying as normal in most of the street. It's as if the writers think we'll switch over unless there's a confrontation, a walk-out, an overheard conversation etc every 5 minutes. There's just too much to keep track of.

MusicToMyEars800 · 10/06/2017 13:42

eddie Yes it can be like that quite a lot of the time, also what is the point in some of them having kids when they never seem to have them, eg: Maria never seems to have Liam with her, Kevin never seems to have Jack with him, You hardly ever see jake ( Gary and Izzy's son )

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/06/2017 19:56

cold - I accidentally typed Red Red. It did not make sense.

In defence of the oil story, I broke a car once by running out of oil. The warning light was broken so never came on (although apparently by the time the oil light comes on you are buggered anyway). Fortunately it had only seized one half of the engine, so not as expensive as a whole new engine, but still lots and lots of money.

Place marking Smile

RainbowCake · 11/06/2017 15:26

Well we know continuity and plausibility goes completely out of the window at times, but I spotted something that made me raise an eyebrow.
Denise went to see Audrey about a job and the next scene was her comforting Daniel no problem except one of her hands was in a fist like she has had an accident or arthritis or something. How on earth would she hold scissors?? She doesn't have to still be a hairdresser.

I'll have to see if I can find a still as it bugged me so much.

RainbowCake · 11/06/2017 15:31

So it seems she was born with a condition (so I feel a bit bad now). Couldn't the character have a similar condition though so it doesn't seem as bonkers as expecting us not to notice.

thenightsky · 11/06/2017 15:33

She does have a physical disability I believe.

Denise Osborne hand

Thanku · 11/06/2017 15:56

Denise Black was born with hand disability; her hand is smaller and her fingers "lock" over one another and bones are twisted.

I loved her in Queer as Folk. Anyone remember that?

Thanku · 11/06/2017 15:58

Meant to add, her character does have same disability. Years ago, she became friends with Ivy's husband when he had his foot amputated. They shared their disability misfortunes.

ellenanora5 · 11/06/2017 20:36

I was just going to post that Thanku, was his name Bert, he nearly killed Alma as far as I remember

Ivy was a right pain in the arse, never stopped interfering in Gail and Brians life, just like Gail now Grin

Thanku · 11/06/2017 23:02

Had to look it up @ellenanora5 - it was Don Brennan, Ivy's 2nd husband (her first was Bert, Brian's dad). Don drove a taxi, had an accident, leg was amputated, then he fixated on Denise!

ellenanora5 · 12/06/2017 01:46

Grin Thanku, Don Brennan that was it, I knew there was a Bert somewhere but was getting the husbands mixed up, I'd love to see some old episodes, I'm watching since the seventies can you imagine the time that would be needed to re watch them, would be lovely though Smile
