Re: Eva's rubber dress... I'm sure she couldn't have got out of it quickly, hence the dressing gown. I think she'd need a lot of talc. Imagine catching bits of hair in various places! Ouch.

Why on earth does Aidan prefer Maria over Ava, and why doesn't he just finish with Ava and get with Maria.

I think Denise will be around for a while, still no explanation as to why she fucked off and left Daniel on his own for years, unless... and I'm only guessing this, was he violent towards Denise maybe

I hope that eventually we will hear the truth about Denise's departure, and what made her decide to return at that moment.
In the same way I'm still waiting to find out how Phelan disposed of Andy's body in the brief time-slot before the wedding. (unless Andy is still alive!)

Denise said she had a breakdown. I think she was hiding out in wardrobe department and found a pair of Dierdre's old glasses from the 90's. Eva looked like she was struggling to move in the outfit so it was probably easier to stay in it. I think the Maria/Eva personality contrast is why Aidan is still messing around with Maria. He connects on different levels. It's ironic how Eva is making all the effort and he is still drawn to Maria.

Denise looks terrible, don't like the blonde hair or glasses and she is irritating.

I think Andy is still alive and will reappear as part of Phelan's eventual downfall. Maybe a Christmas exit storyline and another sad ending for hapless Eileen.

Maria's powers of attraction are an absolute mystery to me. Such a dim wit and dull personality. She has held most of the men on the street in her thrall at various points although it seems they all usually tire of her eventually.

Maria lost her shine when she broke Tyrone's heart. She has spent her time since stealing her friend's boyfriends.
I'd forgotten about cardboard cutout Andy. The only reason for bringing him back would be to catch Pheelan.

Maria's pretty enough, but she's so pissy all the time - indeed difficult to figure her amazing pulling power. And why can't they find someone for Luke?!! He's clever, he's gorgeous, seems a nice bloke. Give the man a break!

In Canada we're just getting the Sally-Gina-stepdaughter revelation. Can I just say that Tim Metcalfe is my favourite character? What a mensch.

I keep thinking that Maria's only hold over factory boy must be that she gives great sex, BJ or something (sorry to lower the tone).

Smith - mensch = person of integrity, a decent, upstanding person, the reliable one in the crowd. Not easy to attain mensch status.

I did laugh at the notion that only Denise (a hairdresser no less) was able to deduce that the 'burger van' would not start because it had NO oil by using the dipstick, Even I, who fails at most practical tasks (but get by) would know that the oil light would come on, the first thing to do would be to check the oil but maybe they were trying to make her interesting and skilled enough to get a job at Kevin's motors
Or maybe they were transforming her into a 'Charlene' (sorry for the neighbours reference)

Denise knows all about dipsticks, she was with Ken long enough!

I love the way Audrey never actually cuts hair, you just see the final result, like Bethany's curly do last night, or they sit there with wet hair whilst she faffs around with a comb, preparing for the cut that never happens. Yeah, I know she can't cut cos she's not a hairdresser but it's so unrealistic.

I like the idea of dreary Dan being a serial killer, he could lock people up and recite Shakespeare until they beg to be put out of their misery. And Eva is stunning and Maria's a moaning minnie who just grates. Aiden needs professional help if he prefers her.

I think Sarah is excellent at these scenes where she doesn't know what to do about Bethany. Poor woman.
