Nooooooooooooo!! I liked Jasmine! :(

That Fran's an utter bitch! Angry

I know something else! No matter how much I need a job, I am never going to work in Holby City Hospital because far too many staff die there!

HalleLouja · 20/06/2017 22:30

Poor Jasmine and poor Jac. I sobbed like a baby.

MommaGee · 20/06/2017 22:31

Oh poo. Just come back from Wales and not seen it but suspected it... I liked Jas. I would never be Morvens friend, its dangerous

LilaBard · 21/06/2017 00:15

I'd only just started warming to Jasmine too! Poor Jac. And poor Morven. Fran is such a wrongun! That nursery rhyme was creepy AF though ...

Hope they have a quieter run for a bit. I want more medical stuff

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 21/06/2017 09:56

That was a crap jigsaw Lofty got Dom.

spiderlight · 21/06/2017 09:57

I told you they'd kill Jasmine!! (On the other thread about the trailer, which I can't find now). Saw it coming last night as soon as she put the scalpel in her pocket. Poor old Morven :(

UnicornSparkles1 · 21/06/2017 10:02

Lila I thought I'd accidentally switched channels when the nursery rhyme bit came on! So creepy!

DubiousCredentials · 21/06/2017 11:11

So the scars on the hand thing, when Jasmine said to Fran that Jaq didn't have them, was she just guessing? Those flashback scenes were sad.

Solo · 21/06/2017 11:12

The jigsaw was in reference to holidays with his mum I think...Clacton on Sea holidays doing jigsaw puzzles.

Yes, I thought maybe there would be a fight and the scalpel would end up hurting/killing someone (Fran or Jasmine), but I so wanted to be wrong.

HalleLouja · 21/06/2017 14:12

dubious I think Fran has been telling lies about how close to Jac she actually was and Jasmine worked it out with the scars which Jac didn't have on her hands.

MommaGee · 21/06/2017 14:34

In not a fab of the idea of Domfty but the jigsaw was q cute reference and shows he listens.

I think she blagged it re the scar, something in the notes made her sus. I think they could have done some good story lines with the sisters finally on side.

Not convinced how the scalpel went in so deep she couldn't move...

Very well acted from the new F1

TheDrsDocMartens · 21/06/2017 19:27

Who puts a scalpel in their pocket anyway?

LarrytheCucumber · 21/06/2017 22:29

Where else would she put it after she took it away from the girl?

MissSueFlay · 21/06/2017 22:44

I can't believe they smoked Jasmine! [shocked] Just watched it and you could totally see it coming, but I didn't think she'd actually die....
It' going to be very interesting to see how it plays out with Jac and Fran in the coming weeks.

SoupDragon · 22/06/2017 06:41

I think Fran has been telling lies about how close to Jac she actually was

I'm not sure she is lying as such, she looked genuinely confused when Jasmine said that Jaq didn't have a scar on her hand. I think she's rewritten the past in her head somewhat.

MissSueFlay · 22/06/2017 06:49

Is it realistic (I don't really know why I'm asking, I know the answer) that a small scalpel like that, in that location, would cause an injury that turned out to be actually fatal? I know she lost a lot of blood, but they had her all opened up in theatre...
Can you tell I've been thinking about this Grin

DubiousCredentials · 22/06/2017 07:00

Is it realistic Grin

SoupDragon · 22/06/2017 07:04

With all my medical expertise* I would say it pierced something important.

  • I watch a lot of holby and Casualty so I am practically at consultant level.
SoupDragon · 22/06/2017 07:08

As it was thin and very sharp, I guess it could have gone through the intestines and into the liver? Too many places to repair before she bled out perhaps.

Optimist1 · 22/06/2017 08:18

It was a very dramatic episode and I'm sorry to see Jasmine go but the scriptwriters used quite a lot of Holby/Casualty cliches ...
Patient manages to steal something from the ward (drugs, syringe or in this case scalpel) - tick
Disturbed person lures an innocent member of staff to a secluded location (lack of mobile phone or reception optional) - tick
Emotional exchange takes place with innocent member of staff sustaining injury to Something Important (thanks to Soup for her valuable medical input) - tick
HH gives poignant speech - tick

What with Cal in Casualty the other week and now Jasmine, Holby Hospital is going to be crawling with Health and Safety Officers now. I guess that's the summer storylines, Henrik Hansson does a lot of paperwork....

MissSueFlay · 22/06/2017 09:13

I want to shout at poor Damon (another junior doctor with a life-threatening/limiting condition Hmm) "Run, Damon, run! The hills are that way!" Statistically it doesn't look good for him.... already. Grin

Solo · 22/06/2017 09:17

No no! It was clearly her heart. I mean, it might as well have been as her pocket was at hip height, she was pushed against a wall and cage but the scalpel managed to get her at roughly waist level...Hmm. And did anyone else think that the way Fletch took her from Damon that he pressed the scalpel handle end with his body and so would have done more damage pushing it in further? And is anyone else thinking Damon might get the blame? Questions questions questions!
