I think it is possible. They were all very fond of the actor apparently and he had been supposed to return, but he died suddenly so I think they brought in Ma Brennan instead to run that storyline but didn't want to just ignore his passing.

It makes me laugh when the police allow the victim to confront the person that has committed a crime against them. Happens every single time someone is arrested in neighbours. After being arrested and/or interviewed the criminal is brought out of the police room to be angrily shouted at by victim. Surely this doesn't happen in real life?!
