Chardonnay I do agree the cases are dull. And hard to follow. I think it's where the show is lacking.

So many quality US TV series have stunning credits. I could just watch the credits alone on the Sopranos or Big little lies. This one is awful.
Love Luca (sad loss to Vera).
Maia is irritating and pointless.
I love the programme but it just needs to inject a bit of wit.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/06/2017 15:05

That's the word I was looking for Bue, dull. That's it.

LouiseBrooks · 10/06/2017 17:05

Swearing doesn't bother me, it's more realistic than the usual American programme where no one even says "oh my God". I love the court cases, it is a legal drama after all and am so glad that, unlike TGW we don't have constant focus on the main character's love life. The last few years Alicia was flirting or having a romance with someone or another every season and it turned into a soap opera.

I think this is much better than TGW became in the last few years. .

Am I the only one who finds Colin a bit creepy then? I never liked Will Gardner much either. Cary was cute though, although I didn't like him at the beginning of the show, he was an arrogant little twit, but definitely got better over the years.

I don't think the cases are especially dull and I don't find them difficult to follow either, unless I leave the room and miss something.

I just watched Veep. DS loves it but every other word is effing

SapphireStrange · 10/06/2017 17:16

I don't like Colin much. His mouth is cruel but also weak.

Re: swearing, there are plenty of American dramas with lots of swearing (Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, The Wire off the top of my head). My point, and I think others', was not that I'm bothered by it but that, in TGF, it doesn't seem convincing but as if they've stuck it in to shock or thrill.

HmmOkay · 10/06/2017 17:23

Yes, it isn't the swearing itself that bothers me.

It is the way the swearing is shoehorned into the dialogue, like sixth formers tasked with rewriting Shakespeare for a modern audience. And having a good titter.

Italiangreyhound · 10/06/2017 19:14

Colin - creepy as fuck
Swearing - sounds artificial
Make fabulous - have you no heart!
Music - amazing
The egg case was great- it was called 'property'

Bue · 16/06/2017 06:24

Helen yy to the credits! They're ghastly! Boring and long and it all looks a bit basic budget to me. DH disagrees, he thinks the explosions are fantastic.

msrisotto · 16/06/2017 10:20

I like the explosions, it fits with the ethos of the programme now. However it is way too long.
