I assume that Desford transfered from AC12 to AC9, as per his request to Hastings.

The last series final was a 90 minuter, was it not? I bloody hope this one is too.

I don't know what the story is with the Ronan Murphy file .

That's the file that was originally redacted before it was given to AC12.

Dot was behind that, perhaps helped by others in the major violent crimes department?

They later obtained the un redacted file after Steve's girlfriend within the department told him about it.

AC12 should now be aware of the fact that Stephen Lakewell was in the report.

I suspect that Ted has been investigating over the past year and has a lot of information that he hasn't revealed as yet.

He mentioned that at least 8 senior officers had names that started with H so that suggests he has been looking into it.

I thought the username was JamieDnotJames- because everyone calls him James.

I think, Jamie was sent to AC12 on behalf of AC9 ,in the interview hes now back at AC9 listening into the interview with Nick.
If you recall last year, Kate went to AC? to get authority to investigate Cotton its obviously not unusual for those guys to investigate each other!

If you pause on the trailer and run it in slow motion you can see some strange things.

When BM has the hostage look at the officers with fire arms one is looking up as if there is someone else with BM.

At 15 seconds, watch when Ted fires his weapon something falls out from his hand( Prob a continuity error in editing)...

Steve's girlfriend in season 3 was Sam, she worked for Murder Squad and was still with him at the end when Kate got her commendation.
She is the one featured in the trailer.

The woman Steve was seeing in Season 2 was Nicola Rogerson, she is the one from Major Violent Crime who worked with Hargreaves.
Also she is the person that Dot is supposed to have got the doctored file on Ronan Murphy from.

Don't know if that is relevant but I think people have been confusing Steve's exes.

Yes there were 2 different girlfriends:

Jolly Rogerson series 2- she gave him the tip off about the car tracker that Hargreaves was hiding

Sam- gave him the tip off about Ronan Murphy's file, also quick to cut him loose when he was framed.

I know, that was a bit of a comedy comment for me I tell you what though, I used to love Archie in Emmerdale and I never knew what had happened to the actor since, so am really glad to have found him again.

I've just watched the trailer slowly, with lots of freezer-framing. Some thoughts -

The person Roz is talking to is definitely Jimmy Lakewell. She's talking to him when she says 'Were you expecting someone else?'.

I'm trying to work out where the offices are that the raid/hostage situation is taking place at. It's not Nick Huntley's offices as they looked totally different from the outside. The person the BM is holding looks like a security guard. And there are what looks like flowers on a table in the background. It's all quite glossy.

The person that Steve is talking to is wearing a light coloured or white top/shirt under a dark coloured jacket. Possibly a tie although I can't be sure. Physique looks male to me but it's very quick and blurry. I think the bit where he says 'you walk out of here you're a dead' is part of the same scene, and I would instinctively finish that sentence with 'man'. Hence probably male.

I've watched it so much I've gone cross-eyed with concentration.
