A reference to Beth sitting down in court all day within hours of giving birth, I think Janine - 'twas truly unbelievable remarkable!

When Miller was berating Ed's daughter for remaining involved in the investigation despite being related to a suspect and thus possibly jeopardising a conviction, I kept expecting Ed's daughter to point out that the last major crime in Broadchurch was Danny's murder where Miller investigated despite, as it turns out, being related to the murderer. She failed to even consider Joe as a suspect despite the fact that she was the only person who knew he had no alibi that night (because she's taken sleeping pills), despite him seeking information about the investigation and despite that fact that most murder victims are killed by someone close to them.

Yes sorry, reference to Beth - though I'm sure there are other examples of Magic Indestructible Fannies, not just this particular one. One of those TV things like the TV drama L-shaped blanket which covers men from the waist down and women from the neckline down.

Oh heck yes, I'd totally forgotten the Cushion of Unlikelihood.

Much as I love Hardy and Miller - they're pretty rubbish coppers aren't they? Series 1 - the murderer confessed. They never suspected Joe Miller. Series 2 - the murderer was acquitted, mainly (iirc) because Ellie had battered Joe and the defense used that to imply his confession was beaten out of him. Series 3 - Ellie doesn't know that her son's best friend is the son of a rape suspect, the son who has supplied Tom with porn via his father. She didn't look at the evidence on the computer, or phone, and has apparently destroyed both devices...

All tv coppers are crap even morse!

Usually takes AT LEAST 2 murders till they even get close to suspecting the right person.
