Dumdedum - i was sad enough to the do the research back in 2014 when they went with the Paige storyline - as Brad, Lauren Beth etc was during my peak watching period as a teen. I've watched from the beginning - my dad was a fan and i vaguely remember the first few years but i was 8 nearly 9 when it started in the UK - i remember some characters from the very beginning but not as well as the later years.

Meaning Brad had to have cheated on Beth end of Sept/beginning of October 1993 - which was never shown or alluded to at the time

The way I remembered it was that Brad and Lauren were at it just before Brad married Beth. Beth found out and almost called off the wedding but Brad apologised, declared undying love etc etc and they all lived happily ever after*

*until he started shagging Therese

I could be wrong though

OK, oddly, I see nothing Japanese about the actress in the photos I've found of her.

Other than Beth I remember him getting into the limo with Lucy. I'm no help.

Brad and Lauren broke up just before the the 2000th episode which aired 10/09/93 assuming that Brad and Lauren slept together just before that she then her due date would have been end of May, Paige was born 30/06/94 - so at a push maybe but she'd have had to have gone nearly 4 weeks over! since Lauren left beginning of March she'd have been 28/9 weeks pregnant - which she wasn't!

Does anyone know for certain who the Tanakas father is? And can they PM me if so - I can't wAit

oh and in-between breaking up with Brad and leaving Lauren joins a cult!

Just looked it up and the Lauren and Brad affair was wedding take one which lead to Brad and Beth breaking up for a while and him leaving for a bit.

I think they will keep the dad hush like they did with Sonya losing the baby but the date we find out is on DS, think only a couple of weeks away at most

Looking at the actress there's a chance she could be part Asian and her surname is a common romanisation but Chinese (not sure how much the casting dept care about authenticity particularly in the 80s).

I really think it's Paul. Which would also be hilarious to see Amy's face when she finds out she's been snogging her brother.

Okay, I've looked at some more (clearer) pics of Kim when she was in it in 1985 and yes she was Japanese and as katz said, is being played by the same actress. However on careful examination of her parents' photos, they are most definitely white. So either Kim was adopted or her dad wasn't her bio dad (or neighbours randomly placed someone of a different ethnicity into a white family, which, let's face it, isn't outside the realms of possibility!).
However I noticed that on Wikipedia her name is listed as Kim Taylor Tanaka (it used to be just Kim Taylor) so I'm wondering if, in the years she's been away from Ramsay Street, she has discovered that her parents/dad weren't her bio parents/dad and has found out that she's actually a Tannaka? Maybe hiro was her brother? And the dad thing was a red herring (sorry if I'm repeating, I hunk someone else suggested this already but just wanted to confirm what I'd read with regards to the name).

I too had done the baby math when it all came out about Paige and questioned how she could have Mason so soon afterwards... standard neighbours really. They saw a tiny window of opportunity and went with it!

Did Paige ever do a DNA test with Brad? Maybe she's not even his 😂

Haven't seen today's yet, but I am totally confused by the Tanaka plot, despite the marvelous family trees. I have a feeling you are all going to have to explain it me repeatedly with the use of diagrams once the truth comes out. Despite having watched from the very first episode, I have no recollection of the woman in question.

I am watching now and I am bored of Sonya's cry-talking already.

Aw Anne. I was truly anti sonya before all this but her cry-talking is breaking my heart.
She admitted today that she only really pushed for the surrogacy because she wanted another baby. Can you imagine if Steph had stayed involved in the surrogacy, the whole thing would've been a complete and utter mess (not that it isn't anyway!).

Can't stand Sonya, however much I think I should like her. Love Jared, he's a good man. (Not so keen on the adultery, but he did think Mark was "in bed" with Sonya.) Find Mark is a waste of space. Like Steph, as I remember her last with Max and his family (I know I missed a huge chunk of storyline there!).
