I struggled all the way through the first season of Outcast. I found it boring - don't ask me why I stuck with it, I just do - but the final episode has a couple of good twists, so I'm recording the second season so I can binge watch like the first. And probably find it boring...

yumyumpoppycat · 08/04/2017 13:31

I have watched 3 or 4 episodes of outcast - I quite like the 2 main characters (one is another English actor). It's not really like TWD but I will also probably stick with it for now - also interested to see what the twists are. It is more creepy than TWD.

Willow2017 · 08/04/2017 13:49

I got about 3/4 way through Outcast but when the minister went off on his own into that trailer house and with the woman in his car and then all the coincidence stuff happened to incriminate him i just got annoyed. Hate that kind of twist. Might go back to it though I liked the concept but need to keep calm to watch that bit again 😀

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2017 21:18

I've just watched the last episode. Wow. Dh heard a rumour that it's the last ever, please tell me it's not true

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2017 21:23

I was sure either Dwight or Eugene would come good at the last minute (dh thoight michonne would sniper up at the crucial point) but the reality was magnificent. Azikiel striding in with the tiger, and Carol and Maggie separately plating their part with their armies. If I wasn't with rick and Carol I'd learn tiger taming.

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2017 21:27

Michonne wasn't dying at the end was she?

Phew.

SpreadYourHappiness · 15/04/2017 21:43

StealthPolarBear Season 8 was commissioned before Season 7 even begin airing. The writers have said they have enough material for another 10 seasons at least, and will continue as they know how it's going to end.

SpreadYourHappiness · 15/04/2017 21:45

StealthPolarBear Oh, and I'm pretty sure Dwight is on their side but pretending to be on Negan's (hence the little figurine he left for Daryl).

Eugene, however, is a coward and will do what's best for him. He believes by being on Negan's side he won't be killed, but I'm willing to bet he dies at Negan's hand.

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2017 23:01

Oh yes I have no doubt that Eugene does what's best for Eugene. But he's still terrified of negan in a way he isn't of rick etc.
glad to hear it's not ending. I think it does need to...soon. but when I watch it I want it to continue.

SpreadYourHappiness · 15/04/2017 23:11

StealthPolarBear There's so much story to tell that there's no chance of it ending even after the next couple of seasons, thankfully Grin

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2017 23:15

Yes dh and I both agree that if it ends without revisiting the fundamental what the duck is going on question well be cross

SpreadYourHappiness · 15/04/2017 23:20

StealthPolarBear Oh yes, definitely want a good ending. No Lost shite.

Have you heard about the Old Man Carl theory?

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2017 23:34

No, what's that?

SpreadYourHappiness · 16/04/2017 00:20

It's a theory that the show isn't actually happening in real time, but rather being recounted from Carl's memory when he's an old man; telling his new community/family/friends all about the beginning and what a hero his dad was.

Carl's scenes have a lot more detail, but if this theory were true then of course they would because he would have them from memory himself as opposed to being told them.

There's a video here explaining it in more detail: m.youtube.com/watch?v=jI29h2P8Vxo

It's really interesting! I'm not saying it's true, but I think it's plausible.

(It's been a while since I've watched the video though so not sure if there are any comic book spoilers, sorry!)

saoirse31 · 16/04/2017 01:07

There's been some rumours about it ending, but turns out that relates to possible general writers strike... So would affect lots of shows if it happened, presumably for short time...

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2017 06:52

Hmm that makes sense but not sure Carl woukd describe his dad shagging or sasha's imagination.
Do you think if the show ends it will come back after a short period as a zombie series :o

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2017 06:54

I do agree this is about Carl though, was thinking that last night. He's the star if the show I believe.
wonder how old judith will be when they come back

That's the problem with having a star of the show who is a child when it starts as he might not be quite right for the role as an adult. He is ok but not a favourite at all.

Apparently Carl actor's dad has been saying he will have to quit for education....that might be the convenient point to send the character off for a bit then recast?

SpreadYourHappiness · 16/04/2017 12:56

DixieNormas Really? Because I was thinking she looked too old to be playing Judith. There may have been seven seasons, but the timeline between them has been incredibly short.

It's only been about 2 years from Season 1 - Season 7: walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/The_Walking_Dead_TV_Show_Timeline

SpreadYourHappiness · 16/04/2017 12:57

DixieNormas Ha ha, ignore me! I just reread your post Grin

SpreadYourHappiness · 16/04/2017 13:01

Where did you hear that? I can't find anything on it.

I also don't think they'd ever recast Rick; that would kill the show.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/04/2017 13:06

I read that a while ago it was to do with speculation about the storyline for Carl's character in the comics which takes him away from the group and how that might allow the actor some time to finish his education. Will post it if I find it.

I really like the Rick character, I think he had less appeal in the series that has just finished but that also saw lower viewing figures etc so putting him out to pasture by making the character less important might not be a good solution.
