Not sure a LGBT would create anymore need to keep secret than a hetro kinky sex party might.
Also numbers wise we know these significantly more men (anyone recall the actual numbers?). If it's a LGBT party it doesn't really make sense there's more men - LGBT not being a mainly a man thing - though it would make sense of the comment about 'at a part like that'.
More men also doesn't really make a swingers party sense either, not in that ratio anyway. Unless there was a lot of men patiently waiting in an orderly queue.

In regard to the taxi mans son - I'm wondering if he's mixed race it's noticeably definitely isn't the taxi mans son. She said he knew it was another man who was the father didn't care and wanted to take care of her anyway. But what if he thought it was him, married her then when the baby was born realised he couldn't be the father.
That relationship is obviously not healthy. It's either him or her dominating the unhealthiness - he's made her feel guilty about giving up his medical career or she's got something else holding him that stopped him leaving once he realised the baby wasn't really his.
