Hmm bit Hmm on tonights, we've had all the devastated bereaved having a hearty sincere chat with Eric/Val and (in Corrie) Jacke/Vera.
Not sure what they hoped to achieve there?

A video recording would've been better but he'd have had to have recorded it months ago to be coherant.

And is Laurel going back on the bottle?

knorrig · 14/04/2017 13:05

I've just watched it 70 and agree a recorded video would have been better.

I also wondered if when they found the home videos for Sandy to watch if they'd find the one with Emma bullying Ashley but no!

qazxc · 14/04/2017 19:40

didn't like Ashley's final day, all that forced joviality and people crowding the house in pirate gear. It grated on me and didn't leave any room from the excellent acting that we know ashley can do. I also thought FFs with all of you crowding around the bed (some of them that weren't even that close to him), it makes it really hard and awkward for his family (esp Gabby) to say goodbye.
I guess the Holly looky likey is trying to stitch up Jay in some way. Becoming close to him by copying holly inc annoying childlike voice.

I suspect Rebecca's pregnancy coupled with Victoria's apparent infertility is leading up to a storyline where Rebecca gives her baby to Victoria and (hopefully) leaves the village. Especially since they are now such bosom buddies Victoria felt the need to keep Rebecca's positive pregnancy test in her bag. Because if you were struggling to fall pregnant yourself you'd happily carry something like that aroundHmm

A very trivial point but Laurel's house is incredibly tidy considering there is a baby, 7/8 year old and teenager living there (does Sandy live with them too?)

Tiggy78 · 14/04/2017 21:22

@southeastdweller I just googled emmerdale news and I can't see anything about the Christmas storyline! Would you pm me please!

JaneJeffer · 14/04/2017 23:05

Why does Adam keep asking Vic but what about the positive test and she just says it must be faulty. Why wouldn't she just say it's Rebecca's? The whole thing is ridiculous. It's like one of those stories where everyone adds a bit on! I burst out laughing when Robert sped off in the car.

littlemissM92 · 15/04/2017 08:37

Oh gosh I just watched the video / dream episode and blubbed the whole way through it.. tell me it not alone ? Laurel is really quite fantastic

southeastdweller · 15/04/2017 09:49

I didn't like the dream scenes either - felt tacky and over-egged, like when Val came back to see Eric.

Rattata · 15/04/2017 10:10

Agree - dream sequence over egged. A pre- recorded message from Ashley would have been better and more heart breaking.

Laurel's house is always immaculate despite all the people living there - she gave birth on the sofa and it was spotless after!

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2017 11:51

I liked the way the dream was filmed, it was a bit spooky and I loved the way Laurel kept looking around when Ashley disappeared off the screen. Lovely to see the old Ashley again. I'll miss him. I kept thinking though that if it was me I would wake up half way through and be wondering forever what the rest of the top 10 was Smile

bonfireheart · 16/04/2017 16:47

Someone had put a video up of Robert driving off and added be by hill music, it's brill!

bonfireheart · 16/04/2017 16:47

*benny hill music

ellenanora5 · 19/04/2017 19:29

Don't think I can watch Adam with his anger and sulking, he's bad enough when he's happy.

Wonder was Peirce married to Martha

Jojoanna · 19/04/2017 22:05

Adam over acting badly
Why do all Cains conquests seem happy to use the garage ?

knorrig · 20/04/2017 12:02

I didn't see last nights but have predicted Adam be all sulky and angry with the news!

Oh no...I'm hoping that doesn't mean there was Cain/Harriet action in the garage. Terrible storyline him going with the vicar - he'll drop her if Moira wants him back!

JaneJeffer · 20/04/2017 13:09

Ya poor Harriet will get ditched again like she did when Ashley got back with Laurel. I do like her and Cain together though, they look like they're enjoying themselves.

Wormulonian · 20/04/2017 13:18

Cain and Harriet is just wrong. I really dislike Harriet. Why did they bother with Moira implying she had slept with Pete and a day or so later Cain (after Holly died) - thought there would be a who's the daddy? storyline but that seems to be dropped.

Love Emma quoting the bible to Ross. Adam and Victoria - what's the point? They are dreadful actors. I think it's quite reasonable for Adam to be sulky and want to get bladdered for one night given his news - but No! he ha sto get over it and think about adoption bacause it's hard for Victoria too!

Still, I remember when Gennie died his family kept telling Nikhil he should get over it and that they were worried because he was out running every day - she had been dead for about 2 weeks! Ah the soap timeline

redshoeblueshoe · 20/04/2017 20:22

So Martha knows what Pierce is

knorrig · 20/04/2017 20:25

Is it me or has Chrissy lost lots of weight?

redshoeblueshoe · 20/04/2017 20:34

I'm not sure if its weight or completely different hair. Unlike Lucky who is still a miserable git

JaneJeffer · 20/04/2017 21:20

Poor Adam isn't being given any time to digest his news with Victoria going on about sperm donors, adoption, etc.

Nothing much happened tonight considering there was two episodes. The Pierce stuff is going on too long now.

DanyellasDonkey · 20/04/2017 21:57

Oh FFS when is Rhona going to see sense?

Sadly I have seen spoilers and the answer is not any time soon Hmm

ellenanora5 · 20/04/2017 23:08

I'm still waiting on Pierce to go postal and hold everyone in the pub at gunpoint ala Cameron, mind you I'm waiting on that since the last thread....

Chrissy did look different, not as harsh as usual, Lucky is a miserable shit but I suppose I would be if my mother let me down constantly like Chrissy does

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 20/04/2017 23:41

I'm glad to see Lucky back. I think Thomas Atkinson is such a good actor. I like Chrissie too but she's a terrible mother! I don't see the point of Lawrence and Ronnie at all even though I like Ronnie.

Tracy's book storyline is completely pointless. Is it meant to be funny or what?

I voted for Emmerdale in the BSA's because it was good overall until recently. They need to sort it out.

bonfireheart · 21/04/2017 06:58

Cain needs to forget Harriet for a moment and go punch Robert.

I voted for Emmerdale too but then I don't watch any of the other soaps! Voted for Laurel and Ashley. Really hope Ashley wins, as much as I love Danny Miller and he has a strong fanbase, this really has been Ashley's year.
