I thought Chrissy had had a Croydon facelift which suited her Grin She's looking much better than before, anyway, I think.
Do you mean to say this Pierce crap still continues? I'm finding it quite badly done compared to the Helen and Rob domestic abuse plot in "The Archers" - the storyline veers from one thing to the next and Pierce's controlling behaviour is inconsistent rather than gradually building up, if that makes sense?

Jojoanna · 21/04/2017 08:30

I can't believe Cains storyline with Harriet , is it just a fling ? I'm not feeling it .
I thought Chrissy looked different - bored of the Rhona storyline. Would Vanessa keep sticking her nose in where it wasn't wanted?

knorrig · 21/04/2017 09:51

I thought Chrissy looked better too!

redshoeblueshoe · 21/04/2017 10:39

Dumdedum totally agree. In The Archers they took a character (Helen) who was not particularly liked, and built it so carefully that everyone hated Rob and we had complete sympathy for her.
With Rhona they have taken a character who wasn't even disliked - yet I have no sympathy for her. (Well I did when he raped her).
Paddy did hear bad things about Pierce when he was going out with the late Mrs Pierce (sorry I've forgotten her name). Now he treats Vanessa like a difficult child - for saying such things.
they also put so much work into turning Robert from a baddie to a nearly decent guy now I don't know why they bothered.
Lucky is a great actor. I'm sure he will be up to all sorts of mischief soon

JaneJeffer · 21/04/2017 12:25

The way things are going on Emmerdale they will probably ruin Lachlan as well. I know he's a pyscho but he also had a vulnerable quality and I think he was fond of Robert and missed him a lot. I don't like the way they now have Robert saying he didn't love Chrissie when he really did and didn't want to hurt her but just couldn't resist Aaron.

They are losing all the emotional connections for the sake of plot and cheap shock value.

Adam saying he lost interest in Johnny when he found out he wasn't the father isn't true. He was very upset at the time and tried to run away with him.

I think Emmerdale should have a panel of viewers they can call on when they can't remember their own history Grin

redshoeblueshoe · 21/04/2017 13:26

Good idea Grin

ellenanora5 · 21/04/2017 14:06

JaneJeffer I shouted at the telly when Adam said that about Johnny, I shouted, no you didn't you idiot you kidnapped him, good idea about the panel and who better than us lot Grin

Maybe I should send them a link to this thread Smile

ellenanora I'm glad I'm not the only one who shouts at the telly but I've given up shouting at Rhona now, she just won't listen!

Dumdedumdedum · 22/04/2017 08:55

Talk about Pierce gaslighting her last night - "That's the way to do it!"

southeastdweller · 22/04/2017 09:13

Apart from Layla playing Chrissie, that was a really boring episode last night. Couldn't care less about Victoria and Adam and Paddy being so supportive of Pierce is weird.

deloresclaiborne · 25/04/2017 08:38

bloody hell , last nights episode was horrible
i hope rhona leaves him now and goes to the police
run rhona for the love of god run

littlemissM92 · 25/04/2017 08:58

Agreed it was awful to watch .. but will she leave him?!

JaneJeffer · 25/04/2017 10:17

The way he held up his hand with the wedding ring as if he could do what he liked to her now was chilling. Surely she won't let him get away with it? Great acting by both of them but very hard to watch.

knorrig · 25/04/2017 13:21

It was horrible to watch - surprising it got so bad for the time.

I hope she stands up to him!

ellenanora5 · 25/04/2017 13:47

It was awful, poor Rhona, maybe now she'll finally get rid of him.

Victoria should let Adam go, he's dreadful, he's always the same, sulky moody poor me attitude.

Rachel0Greep · 25/04/2017 19:28

Watched for first time in a while. Sad poor Rhona.

Bungleboggs · 25/04/2017 19:46

Fantastically acted, week fond Rhona x

knorrig · 25/04/2017 19:47

I'm glad she went through with it!

RightOnTheEdge · 25/04/2017 19:58

I've got an awful feeling she's not going to go through with reporting him to the police though.
The Pierce actor said he's going to be in it for another seven months. It will end near christmas.

JaneJeffer · 25/04/2017 20:07

I think she will be too scared to name him but at least it will be on record and they have DNA. Months of this story will be awful.

Stupid Paddy giving him a hug Sad

ellenanora5 · 25/04/2017 20:35

Oh god I can't watch him for another seven months, he's getting terrifying and his eyes are so menacing.

OP posts:
RightOnTheEdge · 25/04/2017 21:38

I think his acting must be brilliant because everyone keeps saying how lovely he is in real life but I would be scared if I ever met him on a dark street Grin

redshoeblueshoe · 25/04/2017 22:35

Another 7 months ! We might have to send a delegation to the Dales to keep Rhona safe

TheLegendOfBeans · 26/04/2017 07:00

Last nights episode very good - shows what happens in the immediate aftermath of it happening, might demystify it and encourage more reporting, surely this can only be a good thing

Dumdedumdedum · 26/04/2017 07:26

TheLegendOfBeans - yes, like the last season of "Broadchurch".
