I've just caught up on this Poor Rhona.

I know from a viewers perspective the story is frustrating to watch but I'm so glad they've done the story. It happens everyday in real life and people don't understand it. It's brave of them to show it, especially as he goes from nice to awful so often which is quite realistic I think. I just hope they don't ruin it with some over-done ending ( a la Cameron / all the people that have lived at Home Farm )

Have to admit though, I'm struggling to care about anyone else. Jai, Victoria and Lucky particularly make me

The lady who played DCI Osbourne is my friend! I'm so proud of her. She said she's in it as a recurring role for a while so this story is going to run and run I think.

She was very good Curls as were all the other women who were involved. I'm sure I've seen her on tv before.

@JaneJeffer she's been in loads of stuff, Corrie a couple of times, Doctors and most recently she was in Eastenders as part of the Stacey storyline when she went to the mother and baby unit.

I agree the women dealing with Rhona were excellent, it was very well done.

Just watched last nights episode. Very well done.
As someone who has been through all that in the past, I know how Hardin is.
Sad thing is it happens a lot more than people realise.

I hate that soap cliche when someone interrupts someone else when they're trying to say something important. Emmerdale have been doing it non-stop lately. Just drag everything out...

Just found this thread. Love Emmerdale ( most of the time). Finding the Pierce and Rhonda storyline so difficult to watch but I'm glad domestic violence and rape are being highlihghted. Not an easy watch and very well acted. Hope it helps create awareness and even if it helps one person realise they can get help it'll have been worth it. I hope they deal with the aftermath well and don't mess it up!

Yeah, it's so difficult to watch. He's so manipulative and creepy. I suppose that's how abuse works. Make the victim question themselves.

Anyone else find Rebecca really annoying. I find her acting separate and she's not one bit realistic.

Rebecca has been used as nothing but a plot device in other people's stories from day one. From everything with the Whites to Robert. There's never been any exploration of who she is and her feelings. Even the whole baby storyline is about Robert. That's why sometimes the actress comes across as bored and like she's not even trying. Don't suppose the ridiculous clothes help.

And the little we know of Rebecca she had an amazing lifestyle in Ibiza as a DJ/interior designer and knows loads of famous celebrities. Why she'd want to then leave all that for wet Robert who has already pressurised her into one abortion and then married her sister and now has a male partner - would you?!

I agree. She's not really relevant and she's a door mat to an abnoxious bully. Her acting is awful !

Rebecca has been so badly written, she landed in a helicopter,not a care in the world, to help Robert dob her family in. Now we are supposed to believe that Robert treated her so badly before yet she still kept chasing after him until she found him drunk and at a low ebb and she then had unprotected sex with him. Ridiculous. The whole story isn't helped by the fact that it's impossible to read the actress's expression so I have no clue what's going on in her head.

I really hope Rhona tells Marlon or Vanessa or any of her friends what happened! but I have a feeling this will be a story that's going to go on for a while. Megan gets on my wick. I really want Emma to just hurry up and be exposed for what she really is, but I reckon the tape won't be seen, something will happen just as laurel is about to watch it, and she won't end up watching it.. that's what I think will happen anyway. I never liked Pierce from the moment he came into the soap.

What's the story with Nell??? Finding that a bit weird . Had she something to do with Holly?
I also hope Rhona tells someone but in reality a lot of people don't cos of the shame they feel

Very, very wrong. It's like they've run out of stories for both of them. I remember a flirtation two years ago with her and Bob but that's been forgotten about.

Bob wld be a better suit for her !
