Which series makes you jealous of people who haven't watched it yet, because they get the joy of seeing it for the first time?

I've just watched two series of Happy Valley, bloody amazing.

Makes me wonder actually how these actors just do their jobs and walk away at the end of the day.

JockTamsonsBairns · 06/03/2017 23:04

Another vote for Prison Break. Just finished the boxset last week, and I honestly don't think I can ever watch anything again. How could anything ever compare Sad

BeerMuggles · 07/03/2017 11:38

six Feet Under and Breaking bad.

For fellow Scandifans, hope you've watched Okkupert! all the more on the button perhaps now that Sweden has brought conscription back because of the Russians

Calafornication

Hannibal, although it's definitely a marmite show.

My friend has been trying to get me to watch it for the last 3 years. I bought the boxset on impulse from Amazon as it was only £13.99 and ended up binge watching it in 4 days and then apologising to my friend for not listening to her. It's absolutely gorgeous in terms of cinematography, a piece of art and stuffed full of fantastic actors. Plus Mads Mikkelson is just worth watching in anything he does.

I'd add Supernatural but 12 seasons is just too much to start at the beginning for although it's worth it.

And Sherlock, and the Casanova mini series with David Tennant, Band of Brothers for sure.

I have Battlestar Galactica to watch on bluray, just never got around to watching it. I'd imagine that's going to be a treat when I do.

SpringerS · 07/03/2017 22:12

SpringerS we started to watch that but gave up after episode 2...sounds like it might be worth another chance!

Episode 2 was awful after a weakish pilot episode. It really made it feel like it was going to be crazy spy caper of the week while their new foil in the FBI lives nextdoor and tries to catch them out (with lots of sexy-time in wigs, thrown in for good measure). But it's nothing like that. The third episode, which deals with the actual real life reaction of the Russians to Hinkley shooting at Reagan (they genuinely thought there was about to be a military coup and were prepping to interfere in a civil war), is where it starts to show a little potential. It takes most of season one to really find it's feet but by the second last episode, The Oath, it's clear that it's really amazing television. And by the third season it's genuinely phenomenal television. Read any review of it, most critics refer to it as the best show on television.

Ok you've convinced me! Going to give it another go 👍🏼

Sleeperandthespindle · 08/03/2017 18:40

Breaking Bad & House of Cards (season 1 in both cases)

GreedyDuck · 08/03/2017 21:07

Breaking Bad
Pulling
Spaced
The Wire
Mad Men

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 08/03/2017 21:39

Don't be too jealous. I have absolutely no desire to see any of these (I tried Breaking Bad and gave up early Series 2....so boring) and I am VERY jealous of all of you who have found programmes and shows you love. The last time I did was with Everwood!! That was YEARS ago. I'd love to have that again but nothing appeals

SpringerS · 09/03/2017 13:22

Maybe try Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. You'd have to be ok with the musical numbers but if you give it a few episodes to find it's feet, it's really excellent. Very clever and subversive.

GeekyWombat · 09/03/2017 20:25

The West Wing and The Shield (the latter being one of the best things I've ever seen but so affecting I don't think I could sit through the last few episodes again if you paid me).

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 09/03/2017 20:27

Ok I will. Thanks Springer.Smile

RubyRedRuby · 09/03/2017 20:29

The West Wing

The Good Wife

Parks and Recreation

Cultofpersonality · 09/03/2017 20:29

Omg Dexter.
Specifically season one and the last ep of season 4!

Mathena · 11/03/2017 12:01

I didn't like the way Dexter ended.

Mathena · 11/03/2017 12:03

SpringerS, yes, re my crazy x gf, you have to have a silly side but if you do there are bits that make you die laughing. I loved textastrophe, and much later in series two when Rebecca and Valencia are both cyber researching Josh's x and the song '''obsessively researching......'''' three days later etc. So funny!

Mathena · 11/03/2017 12:04

........... and I think, funnier for me because I had once google earth viewed the family home of a man I went on a few dates with Blush

I didn't pursue it. He was a bit weird Wink

Thingiebob · 11/03/2017 14:03

Battlestar Galactica
Breaking Bad

Astonishing drama.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/03/2017 16:10
Blush the only ones I've watched here is Bodies Father Ted (but I don't think I've seen all of them) Some Sherlock Some GoT because DH watches it TWD because DS/DH watch it The early Prime Suspects (lost the plot with klater ones)
