Anyone watching!?

Loved the last thread, wonder if we'll have a Mumsnetter on the show this year??

SO THRILLED that this is back. Placemarking until I have caught up on them all.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 04/01/2017 21:20

MY PEOPLE!

Just remembered this thread would be here.

I can't believe he didn't finish?! Has that ever happened before? Didn't Frankie not finish something last year? This was proper unfinished though, not just shoddy unpainted interior wardrobe doors.

PurpleDaisies · 04/01/2017 21:23

The standard is not exactly high this year is it?!

CremeEggThief · 04/01/2017 21:30

Surely none of the people who got through on tonight's show will be among the last few? James must be infuriating to work with, as a previous poster said.

Kelly might be ORANGE, but I love her hair.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/01/2017 21:38

Dh was horrified when I put this on - 'It's Bake-Off with paint!'

I hated that wood effect wall paper - I couldn't live with that for a second. I don't think the designer put a sample of the paper on the mood board, did she? There was a lot of text and quotes, but not a lot of actual detail about the design - I was surprised the judges didn't pick,up on that.

I did love James' mood board - with all the little models - I thought it was so clever and he'd put such a lot of effort into it.

Does anyone know what happens after the show, if they don't finish? Do they send the workmen back in to finish it all off?

felixthecar · 04/01/2017 22:12

We had workmen for an extra day to do snagging

ElspethFlashman · 04/01/2017 22:17

I loved the wallpaper lady's look to camera when James was faffing with the blind.

That's what this show needs - for the painters and decorators to be permanent (snarky) personalities. Like Andy being all cranky at LLB on Changing Rooms.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 04/01/2017 22:35

My favourite builder hasn't been in it yet. I hope he comes back.

mrwalkensir · 04/01/2017 22:39

Kelly's had way too much botox and/or other stuff done - her face moves weirdly

lalalonglegs · 04/01/2017 22:44

CremeEgg - you like Kelly Hoppen's hair? It's a complete mismatch with her face. These days she reminds me of Bette Davis as Baby Jane. (Kelly would of course not be seen dead in peach though.)

Just checking in with last year's username to say hi and that my room is still mostly orange! Can't believe there's another MN semi finalist this year! Hope it went well - we had the winning designer at least!

P.s Little Beardy Man was very lovely but he does seem to have 'interesting' taste in shirts....

Hello again slummy. Your room is lovely.
I'm not impressed again tonight. Those tweety birds in the Batchelor PadConfused

PunjanaTea · 04/01/2017 23:43

Hello. Stumbled across this programme tonight and really enjoyed it.

Does anyone know if there is anyway of catching up with previous series?

Cocolepew · 05/01/2017 12:02

Just watched last nights. Wtf? That Japenese one was rank.
If Kelly stood in your orange room she would disappear Slummy.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 05/01/2017 12:03

Yes! I wondered if the judges were looking at a different room. It looked like a 90's Japanese restaurant.

Cocolepew · 05/01/2017 12:09

Sorry to Sophie who I called Sarah a few posts back (just in case she's reading Grin)

PurpleDaisies · 05/01/2017 12:10

If she is reading, I think I speak for everyone when I say "we miss you!".

Cocolepew · 05/01/2017 12:13

This is from Kellys instagram.
It's bloody peach?! Hmm

The Great Interior Design Challenge 2017
LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 05/01/2017 12:25

Yes she dropped a clanger denouncing peach, its been 'in' again for a couple of years. She's clearly caught on now. Grin I'm not a representative of the peach btw, I just notice a lot of my young family members have peach and copper living rooms.

CremeEggThief · 05/01/2017 12:28

I have copper blush in my kitchen/dining room. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but it's a large room that only has one window (due to back porch and downstairs bathroom) and it's cold, so it needed warming up desperately. I even painted the ceiling it too, which is usually a big no for me. I think painting is more about the right colour for the house/period than your own personal favourites, really.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 05/01/2017 12:35

You would think a designer would know about trends wouldn't you? I think Kelly Hoppen is only interested in Kelly Hoppen. Fine, she's successful but I don't think she's the right fit for this show.

ElspethFlashman · 05/01/2017 12:41

She's like one of those bronze statue street performers

hollyisalovelyname · 05/01/2017 14:19

I've just seen the first programme in the new series.
I didn't like any of the makeovers.
The hangar thingy in the 3rd house - done by the man- needed to be lifted up a little.
Kelly Hoppen -believes her own hype. All that blandness. Yuck.
I miss Sophie. She wore great earrings and I've bought colourful tights having seen them on her. Loved her dress sense.
A poster suggested they do new build show homes. I agree. A better way to judge them.
So often the designer doesn't listen to the client.

SapphireStrange · 05/01/2017 17:12

I don't miss Sophie but I get the impression Daniel does, bless him.

I LIKE Tom aka Little Beardy Bloke Grin. I also slightly fancy him, although I know I'm barking up the wrong tree.

Anyone notice the very theatrical retired actor bitching at the electrician? 'Why are you looking at me like that? Just get on with it.' Shock I don't think he's very nice.

PinxTheTinxMinx · 05/01/2017 17:15

I miss Sophie too, I loved her outfits especially her earrings.
