What's with the short and long curtains?

PurpleDaisies · 11/01/2017 20:52

Not as keen on this one. The headboard's too big, the cable tie rope rug is daft, it looks unfinished

fourquenelles · 11/01/2017 20:52

What's that pile of black stuff in the corner?

fourquenelles · 11/01/2017 20:53

And you'd just need to knock that light thing in the night for it to smash.

PurpleDaisies · 11/01/2017 20:53

Richard should be going home.

BringMeTea · 11/01/2017 20:54

Agree.

MrsJamin · 11/01/2017 20:56

yeah Richard needs to go home. Headboard is horrid and I'd worry that would come down on me in the night. Rope mat is silly and unnecessary. Also what's with the curtains and the full length mirror in between the wardrobes? Looks odd with the TV too.

BringMeTea · 11/01/2017 20:56

Kelly has toned down the gilding today.

Brillig · 11/01/2017 20:56

I just don't get this carping about Nicholas doing 'stage sets' - they're interior designers, they're all stage sets! And Richard's unfinished room was awful.

Unfortunately I suspect they'll chose Richard. KH seems to love him.

fourquenelles · 11/01/2017 20:57

Yeah! Good shout.

BringMeTea · 11/01/2017 20:57

Good.

dillite · 11/01/2017 20:57

I think that Richard would have gone through had he finished the room.

PurpleDaisies · 11/01/2017 20:58

They really love Richard...placing bet now he'll be the wildcard

Brillig · 11/01/2017 20:58

Oh good. Happy to be wrong Grin

LIZS · 11/01/2017 20:58

Thank god for that. However suspect Richard will get the wildcard.

dillite · 11/01/2017 21:00

I think that Richard has the potential to make some fab things with time and quality materials. Also, with the right buildings/ interiors- his ideas would work well in a more modern/ industrial space.

SingSongSlummy · 11/01/2017 21:01

Hooray - I like Nicholas, he seems very professional and in control too.

Fontella · 11/01/2017 21:08

Thank goodness for that. I had a horrible feeling that Kelly Hoppen was going to put Richard through. I thought both his rooms were naff, even the finished one. That bedroom was all over the place for me. The lights were clever I suppose but that was it really. If spray painting a dressing table bright pink and shoving it in a corner is classed as good design then I give up, and the trademark painted chipboard thing again - WTF?

I much preferred both of Nicholas's rooms and I love his work ethic and the way he is with the builders etc. lots of laughs and good humour while still getting the job done. So glad he went through.

CremeEggThief · 11/01/2017 21:11

I think they definitely voted with their heads tonight, as they both really liked Richard. I agree he probably will be the wild card. Goodness me though, such poor time management and delegating skills! I bet he's been featured on MN threads about faffy DPs more than once!Smile

dailymaillazyjournos · 11/01/2017 21:31

Another one who can't see what they're seeing in Richard. The bedroom looked a total mess imo. Like a before not an after. And yy the 2 wardrobes with cheapo looking mirror propped up between them?! The room was all over the place. And the other room was cold looking and childish and dated. I have no clue how he would turn into a great designer based on these rooms. I like Nicholas. The 60's room looked contrived but it was well done and looked v professional. He was the best of the two without doubt imo.

officerhinrika · 11/01/2017 21:46

They might have liked the bedside tables / lights that Richard did but all I could think was how impractical they were. What's the point of a bedside table with no room for anything? You'd be pretty irritated if a designer gave you a room that looked lovely but was hopeless to live in. Also thought the random painted pink table was silly.

absolutelynotfabulous · 11/01/2017 21:57

Off-piste and late to tonight's party but I loved Kelly's red jacket yesterday. Any ideas where she may have bought it?

ElspethFlashman · 11/01/2017 22:09

That jacket looked a bit Isabel Marant to me but lots of designers do those so hard to know.

Thank God they saw sense and voted Nicholas through. I like him a lot. He's professional, relaxed, and accustomed to delegating.

That whole "theatrical" thing though was tedious. Hello, they're ALL theatrical! They're only saying that about him cos he happens to work in the theatre. It's lazy labelling.

Little Beardy Lad is growing on me. He's so calm and soothing and I liked his jaunty spotty t shirt.

ElspethFlashman · 11/01/2017 22:17

Btw all Kelly's jewellery is from her own line for qvc. I quite like some of the bits.

hollyisalovelyname · 11/01/2017 23:19

The houses in that village were lovely.
Nicholas was so much better than Richard.
Both Richard's rooms were awful, imho.
