Zander is a predatory sort of pike-like fish that infests fresh water. It isn't native to UK but some idiots have introduced it because apparently it is a great fish to catch because it fights like a demon, As it has no natural enemies here, and eats any and every living thing, it has become a pest in many water courses. I'll see if I can find pic. It has lots of teeth.
