Time for a new thread.

I am hoping by the end of this thread Phelan will have disappeared, Anna and family will have moved away and someone will have remembered to book a babysitter for baby Jack.

OP posts:

Maria has a bit of cheek saying to Kate about attracting the kind of person Caz is, has she completely forgotten about the pyscho that was Tony, and did she really think that Aiden was going to dump Eva, god she's a dreadful character, send her to prison and throw away the key.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 05/12/2016 21:01

Aidan is gross Envy

Ken and Peter have some neck criticising Denise's parenting style - hardly role model dads themselves are they!!

eddiemairswife · 05/12/2016 21:15

At least Alyia has confirmed her current and future living arrangements.

Akire · 05/12/2016 22:50

Wasn't TY only saying to Freddie the other day we have room? But still had Alyia there. Strange!

Who ever said about hairdressers you were onto something there. She was dead quick. How she been going up and down of a dead end street without being regonised I don't know!

Do we think Mary's mum
Is just her imagination? Thought we had seen her at some point?

Something not right about new sons story line. Why would he be in a two bed flat on his own? And not move into student digs or ask father for help. Given he's a bus ride away.

loinnir · 06/12/2016 09:49

I don't understand the Daniel story line. I thought Ken brought him up when he was little and Denise came back and got custody and took him far away - not just a bus ride! If just a bus ride surely Ken would have wanted some contact. Why does Adam have a Scots accent but Peter who was brought up in Scotland does not?

Rachel0Greep · 06/12/2016 10:11

Speaking of Ty offering a room to Freddie, and yes, I know it's not real Grin but I would love to go into that house and throw everything out. It's depressing looking, to say the least.

loinnir · 06/12/2016 15:45

Freddie's is another case of the disappearing house. He lived in a beautiful, big Victorian terrace with stained glass hall windows when Kylie went to see him about his wife's scarf - but wants to lodge in an overcrowded two up two down with Fizz. I am sure like Cathy's rather salubrious abode we will hear no more of it (sold, rented) when he moves into the street.

Do not understand why they didn't make Freddie Luke and Steph's grandad - much more believable than the Kylie favourite customer one. Could have led to storylines for the 2 underused actors.

Rachel totally agree - Fizz and Ty's house is beyond awful - bet it smells.

theliverpoolone · 06/12/2016 19:58

I agree, Ioinnir - I've commented before on how alike Luke and Freddie look. And yes, what on earth is meant to have happened to his lovely house - maybe it 'held too many memories for him', but if he sold it he'd be loaded, not lodging (with Alya Hmm) with Tyrone and Fizz.

heartskey · 06/12/2016 23:39

Leanne always walks like that, fake pregnant or not! It is like she cannot close her legs together
Yes I think it's because she's bow legged? something like that anyway, but her legs bow quite badly outwards.

Rachel0Greep · 07/12/2016 01:19

Fizz and Ty's house is beyond awful - bet it smells.

Am going to think of this loinnir Grin next time they show that horrible house. Ugh.
Thankfully we haven't seen it much, of late. I know it's only a set, but I want to rip down the horrible wall coverings, posters and whatever else, and just throw everything out.

Rachel0Greep · 07/12/2016 01:24

And, while I'm here, I must say, I find it very difficult to muster up any interest in a storyline involving Zeedan, Rana or Alya. They are okayish as very peripheral characters, but otherwise, no. Zeedan 'you married a chef'...is it that easy to become a chef, somehow I doubt it. And I'm tired of his sulky face.

eddiemairswife · 07/12/2016 09:49

Rana must have had her own flat/house before marrying that sulky little boy. So what is going to happen to all her clothes and other possessions? The Nazir's house is hardly a mansion, and a lot of Alyia's stuff must still be in one of the rooms.

HettyWainthrop · 07/12/2016 10:01

What did Rana take from the medical centre,? some kind of pills, either abortion pills or morning after pills. I dont think she wants children, she pulled a face when it was mentioned. I think she might already be pregnant off someone else, she has been around a bit and Z was a virgin until their wedding.

also I think Daniel probably killed his mother and buried her body somewhere, he seems very dodgy to meGrin

Akire · 07/12/2016 12:16

Think she stole the pill which is really stupid because it will be missed and it's all confidential anyway so when not just get from doctor? You can even buy it on line if you that worried. It's like she suddenly thought I had sex I may get pregnant you are a NURSE!

Rachel0Greep · 07/12/2016 12:22

Maria has a bit of cheek saying to Kate about attracting the kind of person Caz is, has she completely forgotten about the pyscho that was Tony, and did she really think that Aiden was going to dump Eva, god she's a dreadful character, send her to prison and throw away the key.

Agreed.
And that line seemed to come out of nowhere. Granted I was at best, half-watching. One minute she was saying, it's okay, next thing, the line about attracting certain types.
I'm not even clear at this stage why she is in trouble , mostly because I don't care. Grin

Corrie needs to buck up, and stop trying to centre storylines on weak characters.

deloresclaiborne · 07/12/2016 15:17

i know leannes bow legged but its since shes been pregnant she walks like she s wobbling from side to side. why would you walk like that just because you have a baby in your womb

heartskey · 07/12/2016 15:29

Pregnancies and births in soaps are always ridiculous. They can never let a pregnancy and labour be straightforward. Leanne will probably give birth in the reataurant, pub or on the street or possibly in a cab Hmm

eddiemairswife · 07/12/2016 17:27

It would be Steve's cab; the ambulance would be stuck on the ring road, and Nick would arrive just as Steve had delivered the baby. Nick would then attack Steve, and the ambulance would end up taking them both to hospital, while supermum Leanne manages to drive the taxi back to Coronation Street, just as the snow starts to fall.

Rachel0Greep · 07/12/2016 17:30

And the cab will be as clean as a pin like Gail's sofa after Kylie gave birth on it. Grin

Jetcatisback · 07/12/2016 19:59

lurker on this thread, as by far the thread is more entertaining than the show at the moment, but just wanted to comment on how moved I was watching tonight - Mary and Norris were just amazing. More of this please, not stupid story lines!

Akire · 07/12/2016 20:17

Aw that was nicely done though Noris could have held her hand or something! knowing Soaps thers a bloke in his 30s already pottering around on the street.

FantasticButtocks · 07/12/2016 21:15

Dear Norris! Lovely to see those hidden depths...

Tracy is so awful, trying to boss these new brothers around like she's known them all her life...

And...Poor Roy with his rash and his sleep walking... He can't love that awful woman deep down and his rash is telling him not to do it. She really doesn't suit him. Has she just stopped having the very-difficult-to-cure psychological affliction of hoarding? Why isn't she wrecking his place by filling if up with crap? Confused Her sister is worse, why have they brought her back? To finish Ken off perhaps...

Sweetwater · 07/12/2016 21:49

Wasn't Rosie Webster born in a taxi? Or David. They were born on the sane day I think.

At least Tyrone and Fizz have had a loft extension before cramming in the lodgers. Not like Eileen.

How come dull Kate has a spare room when there were only two rooms when she and her Mr Connor moved in, no room for aiden, and Jonny still lives there?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 07/12/2016 21:50

Norris was great tonight. Norris and Mary are both good actors. Unlike 90% of the cast.

OP posts:
heartskey · 07/12/2016 22:00

I agree, more of Norris and Mary please, they're like the characters of old. I never used to miss a single episode of Corrie. In the days of Elsie Tanner, Hilda Ogden, Annie Walker, Bet Lynch to name just a few it was unmissable, realistic storylines, good acting and lots of humour. What the heck has gone wrong. Sad
