New shinny thread here!

OP posts:
CorporalNobbyNobbs · 29/12/2016 23:46

I can't think of any other soap characters who have killed themselves?

Ginger Besides the ones that killed themselves due to terminal illness (Ethel, Peggy, Hayley in Coronation St) didn't Ken Barlow's wife (not Deirdre) top herself and also Kevin Webster's wife (not Sally)?

In Eastenders I can only think of Bianca's ex that was abusing Whitless, he killed himself in prison if I recall correctly.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 29/12/2016 23:50

Oh and Phil's mad fiancee, that was burning Ben with spoons - she jumped off the factory roof in her wedding dress.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 30/12/2016 00:13

Yes Roxy is irresponsible but Jack constantly sets her up to fail in front of Ronnie. He's a bloody smug git, he's not been back that long, Amy has been raised by Roxy up until she was attacked by Dean last year. Also Jack is the shitist detective ever for not bothering to look into Max's conviction, even after Bobby confessed in front of him. I really hope Max gets his own back on him!

HoHumming · 30/12/2016 00:59

I smiled when Sharon said 'Lets hope Phil doesn't find out Max is back'. Did she mean because Phil will find Max to 'sort him out' before stumbling and falling down.

Michelle can't be gay or bi. Sharon her BFF would know, they have been in constant contact, flying back as easily as someone else would get a taxi.

I wonder if American Mark Junior went back to the US and his discovery of Grant being his father drove a wedge between the family? Probably not as I got the impression American Mark would be back soon too. His old life in American must seem very dull without beating up kidnappers and releasing people from vans.

She obviously has pots of money, her last minute flight, Mark Jnr. went to an International school, yet it is only time until she is helping on the stall or cafe and we will be told her ex has stopped her bank cards and she is now penniless. Or something less complicated and her husband has left her for another woman.

The Lee storyline is going to have to end soon surely. I initially thought they would go down the suicide route but doubt they will.

When exactly did Roxy go from being merely scatterbrained to ridiculously inept. They are rewriting her and it is really annoying. She is a decent character and they are making her into the old Billy character.

Spottyladybird · 30/12/2016 01:13

I haven't njoyed the Lee storyline but thought tonight was really good. My DH suffers from depression and I could see how Lee has got to that point. I also had a former pupil commit suicide as an adult following bullying so could see that aspect too.

avamiah · 30/12/2016 02:11

As we all know it's "not real life", it's Eastenders.🤔😮 as my daughter keeps telling me but I have to say the Lee Carter depression situation is in my opinion getting too uncomfortable to watch after he nearly came close to losing control and attacking the car park woman.

EnidButton · 30/12/2016 02:41

Jack has zero redeeming features. Ronnie must be desperate.

avamiah · 30/12/2016 02:45

Enid,
It's not real .

EnidButton · 30/12/2016 03:44

Whaaat?! Shock Of course it is!

coolpotato · 30/12/2016 06:27

Thought the Lee situation was very uncomfortable last night. Like him or loathe him, I felt you could actually feel his frustration and helplessness in last nights episode. Sad!

Car park attendant - wasn't she a detective in The Bill?

Gingergin · 30/12/2016 08:24

Oh ok @corporalnobbynobs, don't remember those wives! Remember Stella though.
It is sad and you'd think Mick would be more aware and notice that lee isn't himself, he's had depression before so why's no one picked up on it? Apart from when he confessed his fake hot shot job to him the other week, seems no one has realised.

Maybe he'll end up getting nicked again for the robbery. And that VR headset too, that was weird!

celeste84 · 30/12/2016 10:32

Can anyone tell me where Onga is? This place that Jack and Ronnie are supposed to be swanning off to? The storyline does my head in because Ronnie seems completely oblivious to how she has effectively taken over the role of Amy's Mum and is seemingly going to fly off into the sunset with her daughter whilst Roxy watches on. The storyline is stupid.

MrsJayy · 30/12/2016 10:34

It is in Essex I thought it was made up like Walford but nope

MrsJayy · 30/12/2016 10:37

useless Roxy is doing me in how she cant manage 2 children without nodding off is beyond me.

celeste84 · 30/12/2016 10:38

I thought Onga was abroad the way Jack was describing it as some sort of haven.

MrsJayy · 30/12/2016 10:46

Yes its suburb of Essex not Bora Bora calm down Jack

knorrig · 30/12/2016 10:48

We now count the amount of times they say Onga in one episode!

MrsJayy · 30/12/2016 10:52

It is a horrible sounding word Onga

celeste84 · 30/12/2016 10:54

Just google mapped 'Ongar' Grin It has a large Sainsbury's store, two pubs and a high street with barbers, etc. It looks quite nice actually. No sure how Roxy would get there to visit as there is no train station. Can she drive even? There is also an Onga in Hungary Blush

MrsJayy · 30/12/2016 10:54

Why is Stacey still besotted with Max ? I can see why Martin was miffed he was sitting in the kitchen.

celeste84 · 30/12/2016 10:55

Yeah Stacey had put on make up and everything. She hasn't put make up on for ages. I can see why Martin would be pissed off.

iknowimcoming · 30/12/2016 11:02

Are we to assume that Ronnie wedding dress is smeared with dark red lip stick then? I'm also finding the Lee story awful what is with the smarmy call centre boss - he makes my skin crawl?!

OhTinky · 30/12/2016 11:14

So is Lee pleased or not to still have his job? Why hadn't he looked for another job? Seems odd when there's so many jobs on the square...
Also why was he panic buying baby items - he has a toddler brother and there's numerous babies on the square, such as Whitneys best friend who could loan them stuff.
Michelle and Max - too odd, clearly setting up some "sparky banter" so they'll be kissing soon!
Why can't Stacey acknowledge that having Max around is odd for Martin?!
Wish Ron and Jack would move to Ongar already. That storyline is going on and on!

celeste84 · 30/12/2016 11:20

I dunno how Lee kept his job. He has been bottom of that work league table for a while now. Who were these other people that got sacked so that the boss deemed that Lee needed to be kept on to keep numbers up? And how comes the boss then changed personality at the end suggesting that Lee could become the top salesman in the call centre? As if.

nancy75 · 30/12/2016 11:27

The people that got sacked were some of the pub robbers, they somehow caught them but not Oz or whatever his name is
