New shinny thread here!

Shaki, not Shaline!! Bloody phone!

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 12/12/2016 07:08

New to thread and only got back into EE properly a year ago (after 5 year break of just reading TV guide to gind out what's happening).
Agree re: Ronnie and Jack's wardrobe. Are show bosses trying to make them go for 'ironic' hipster look? Fails because neither are that type.
I read somewhere that Billy is the actor who has worked the most on the show - others would have had 'breaks' from filming -which is why he was asked to carry Olympic torch. Would it make sense if he was one of the highest paid?

Also, I've got a game with family for christmas episode. Whenever someone mentions bins, take a drink. We will all undoubtedly pissed by 9.45.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 12/12/2016 08:22

Love your drinking game, woman Xmas Smile
You could also have a drink every time bloody Ongar is mentioned.. you'll be on the floor before the duff duffs.. Grin

iknowimcoming · 12/12/2016 09:35

I also assumed Ronnie was pregnant (in real life) after a rather familiar handbag across the middle shot last week, but don't see it anywhere although can't click on half the info on her for fear of the spoilers Grin

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 12/12/2016 14:35

ILostIt Grin I had to Google Ongar the other day to see if it's a real place. It is, and a lovely one too by the looks (and house prices) of it.

The80sweregreat · 12/12/2016 18:53

There are parts of Essex that are mega expensive. There are roads in chigwell ( close to ongar) where the houses are bought outright.

I doubt the likes of Jack n Ronnie would it in, although once they start splashing the cash the residents may change their minds. Image is everything in those parts ( i guess! )

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 12/12/2016 19:59

In summary, you need a lot of Wonga to move to Ongar Grin.

The80sweregreat · 12/12/2016 20:01

I lost! Yep! Lol.
( thats why i dont live there)

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 12/12/2016 21:40

Looks like adoption is the 'serious topic' du jour. How are Ronnie - the double murderess and baby snatcher - and Jack - impregnates (mainly Mitchell) women and forgets he has kids when it suits him considered better examples of parents than someone who is obviously going through a rough time?

However, no mention of bins, Ongar or Craig today. I'm always so confused whenever Carmel mentions Craig, keep thinking it's her other son

dingdongdigeridoo · 12/12/2016 22:00

I don't see why Ronnie needs to adopt Amy. Surely that'll just confuse the poor kid even more. Jack may as well just live with the two Mitchell sisters in a weird poly union. Grin

Loved the christmas teaser. Sharon, you've doomed them all!

Akire · 12/12/2016 22:29

Yes adopt very odd word. Unless she's going disappear for the rest of her childhood. No I'm not mummy anymore you can call Aunty Ronnie mummy you can call me Aunty !!!

I was laughing at the posters- before they have even gone through the script once! The prop section are going to be very busy. Surely Jonnie be at pub to cover Linda Mik Whitney on the stage?

Don't know how Dot has stood laundrette for so long, you can't even see out, it's like being locked in a cage all day. So we have Xmas eve party in there to look forward to...wow!

Whoever said about body problems about pants on legs was probable right. Carmel has said twice now "you are just skin and bone" so he be buying crack steroids up the invisible gym in no time. I'm guessing they tried but couldn't manage sex? Why else would be all distant and not want another go?

OP posts:
WomanFromAnotherPlace · 13/12/2016 07:01

Ah yes, the gym that is in walking distance that Vincent and Kush go to. Or Ronnie's/Jack's boxing gym that seems to have disappeared. Speaking if which, what has happened to the R&Rs club?

I hope they do a BDD storyline, but knowing EE producers they will have Man-Bun cured of it within 4 weeks if him being diagnosed.

Also, so didn't realise Derek was Private Pike Blush

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/12/2016 09:05

Yes why does Carmel keep banging on about her son being skin and bone? Confused. If anyone's a bit on the thin side, it's her. Poor Shakil will get hooked on the invisible gym and steroids now and end up like those men that have enormous arms, skinny legs and no neck.
I'd forgotten about the boxing gym, they used to film a lot of Ronnie's scenes in there.

dingdongdigeridoo · 13/12/2016 10:33

Could be a male anorexia storyline developing. I don't think he's worryingly skinny though. His main issue is having Carmel as a mother!

HateSummer · 13/12/2016 13:59

If Carmel is so bothered about her son being "skin and bone" why doesn't she ever stay at home and cook for him? She's always galavanting here and there. as much as I liked her when she started, she is turning into an annoying busy body. Very badly written. All the characters are so badly written these last few months. What the hell is happening?!

Rustythedog · 13/12/2016 14:24

I don't get why she is saying Shaki is 'skin and bone' either. He is a perfectly normal looking teenager. There are far skinnier teens.

Bex is morphing into Sonja marching around the square in her big coat.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/12/2016 15:29

Yes def some kinda food issue :eating disorder going to happen as again Carmel mentioned food

Adoption with Mitchell sisters and with DENISE ...,,,

Otherwise a boring episode and Linda still in it. She must have worked till literally birth

JustAnotherSimpleOldNumber · 13/12/2016 15:53

Maybe she won't leave...

Remember when Stan was in it, he finished filiming the day of the live episode, but they had 2 months of his storyline already filmed. He was in the show for ages after.

Maybe they will slowly phase her scenes out to one every so often but keep her character there until she can get back to work.

JustAnotherSimpleOldNumber · 13/12/2016 16:00

I'm getting really worried that the christmas episode is going to be the cast performing "A Christmas Carol" and nothing else.

Rustythedog · 13/12/2016 16:04

That will be an exciting Christmas episode :-(

The80sweregreat · 13/12/2016 16:10

I wonder if ' fifty shades of yellow' Phil Mitchell is getting bored now just sitting around telling off various members of his dysfunctional clan! years ago he would have been gearing up for a tear up in the Vic or getting ready to murder someone at Christmas time. His glory days are over now! ( he needs that liver..)
Shaki and Bex are so boring - he isn't a bad looking boy but I wished his acting skills were a bit less wooden.
Donna has the patience of a saint employing Roxy to just get the coffees in and not much else. she must make a fortune selling her clothes in order to pay her. I do like Donna, she could do with a nice man..

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 13/12/2016 16:17

Has anyone else noticed the old 'monologue of one character being played over a montage of other characters scenes' direction trick being used A LOT in recent months. And each part of the monologue will relate to the other characters story.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/12/2016 16:37

Oh please don't let the Christmas episode be the cast performing A Christmas Carol, Xmas Sad you could be right, they're nearly all in it, ahhh!

Grin fifty shades of yellow he really needs a hobby or something.

Will look out for the monologue over the montage thingy.

The80sweregreat · 13/12/2016 16:42

woman, do you mean when Patrick was rehearsing his part and it resonated with Roxy?
I cant think of any other times, but I must admit I do tend to zone out a bit these days and end up on here or the internet in general.
I am close to giving up on it all to be honest, but I am hoping Christmas and new year may liven up a bit..
